Re: February Symptoms Thread

  • Today I feel less nauseous than usual so of course I'm freaking out. I'm trying to relax but now I keep thinking I feel cramping. Here comes the hypochondriac!
  • Loading the player...
  • @morethanamama me too....yesterday was nausea off and on all day....today much less. But I think it's all normal!

  • @morethanamama I POAS tonight to calm myself because I've been cramping on and off the last 2 days, and I was puking my guts up by this point with my last pregnancy. Even though I know the strong positive test isn't nearly a 100% guarantee, it made me feel better. Hypochondriac here too I guess!
  • @carrotsandpeas3 I feel like my nausea set in by this time with both my other pregnancies as well and this time I’ve only had some mild nausea on two different days. And my boobs never got sore this time but this is also the first time I got pregnant while still nursing so maybe my boobs didn’t get sore because they already have the effects of the hormones. Either way I’ve just been trying to ignore it all since otherwise I have no reason to worry.
  • The bloat is now happening over here. Bleh.

  • Nothing yet, which I know shouldn't worry me, but it does. 4w2d
  • @JLaVO888 I also haven’t experienced sore boobs this pregnancy. It was my only real symptom last pregnancy so of course I’m freaking out about it! I am still nursing too so I wonder if that does make a difference...
  • @westlopemama It has to! I know that mine after stopping nursing DD (my first) became as I like to say “deflated sand bags” and I swear we’re smaller than my original boobs. This time since I was still nursing (only twice a day though) they hadn’t shrunk down that small again. So my theory is that the glands or whatever are already primed to produce milk. Also I actually dried up which was a bummer. But even after drying up I still didn’t shrink to sandbag size.  :D
  • just tired and crampy so far. My last pregnancy aversions and nausea kicked in pretty quickly so I’m hoping it’s different this time around 🤞🏻
  • @carrotsandpeas3 I definitely understand wanting the reassurance, even if it doesn't really prove anything, it still helps.. I really thought about going out and getting a test today too. I can't tell if my memory is wrong or because it was my first time so I was more sensitive, but I feel like everything is milder than before at this point in pregnancy.. I kept a little symptom journal for my last pregnancy and according to my notes, I didn't start feeling very bad and puking till 6 weeks (and I'm 6 weeks tomorrow), but in my memory, I still felt way worse at this time than I do currently..I was hotter, I overheated way easier, I was dizzy, my hair fell out way longer than it has so far with this one. I wrote that anything touching my boobs was horrendously painful... And that's not the case now.. they're definitely getting more painful as the days go by, but it's not all at once like before and it's such a mind trip.
ugh, I second guess both my memory and my note keeping. I keep worrying the symptoms aren't as bad because it's not a healthy pregnancy.
  • @coldbrew that's really nice to hear. My nausea has been way less the past couple of days and I still don't have sore boobs! I do remember that those came later last time too but can't remember when. I keep thinking I need to stop worrying because I had little symptoms with my first too. However I'd say the days when I'm nauseous, I'm definitely feeling worse than before. I still have the exhaustion, crazy dreams, super smell, and cravings, so I'm gonna try and relax 😂
  • Started getting nausea after I eat and when I'm hungry. Some sort of catch 22  ) crackers are now my best friends!
  • The first day of my last period was January 25, 2020! (Due date estimated- Halloween!)
Already by February 10th I began with Nausea every morning to current date.
The follow days I had ALL of the symptoms! --Nausea from 4am-2pm roughly uhg!
    dizziness,
     smells,
    tender breasts,
    swollen fingers in the morning,
    Swollen breasts and bloating
    Headaches
awakening in the middle of the night e
morning, troubles getting back to sleep.
Very noticeable mood swings (I never get normally and I was crying like a baby for pretty much no reason almost daily).
Intense cravings for Milk, Veggies/Salad, Noodles
This is all by Feb 15!!

I witnessed brown spotting on Feb 19 & 20. I was nervous at first as my first pregnancy ended in a 'missed miscarriage' but I believe the spotting normal.
All in all keep on keeping on!
  • Hi @troyandkaylee, congratulations and welcome, have you introduced yourself in the intro thread? It's usually the best way to get started before you jump into the other thread so we can all start recognizing each other's names.
  • The sleep (or lack there of), along with exhaustion that may or may not be just from my lack of sleep, is really my only symptom which is so so different from my last pregnancy. I just want more caffeine to counteract the exhaustion, but I have already hit my limit for the day. Trying to trick my body with decaf coffee. 😴
  • @carrotsandpeas3 I've tried that and it doesn't work.  :( This Seattleite's body cannot be tricked! LOL

  • @babyodo wait, I’m not sure I knew you are a Seattleite! I am too. Do you still live here?
  • @carrotsandpeas3 same boat! I sent my H to get some pregnancy tests. I need to get out of my head!!!
  • @psmk521 I don't live there anymore, but I was raised there and was also stationed there with the military from '04 to '08, as well.

  • @morethanamama I ordered a box of 20 cheap ones when I tested negative on day 29 and figured I was out until next cycle (tested pos on day 32), so now I have all these extras I keep using because they are there! It did at least make me feel better to see the strong lines on Saturday. 🤷
  • I always start out with a cup of decaf in the morning so I can have a real cup in the afternoon if I’m struggling. I’m just glad that pregnancy somehow protects me from getting massive headaches when I don’t have caffeine!
  • Coffee sounds absolutely atrocious. I’ve been running on zero caffeine and not doing well with that.

My nausea hit me today. I knew it would and have been bracing myself for it. I usually don’t actually throw up. I just dry heave over the trash/toilet all day.
  • @carrotsandpeas3 he went to the dollar store and I took one, nice to see those strong lines. Seriously I hate the first trimester! I feel like I was doing so well in the beginning and now the more I progress the more anxious I get. I think it doesn't help that I haven't really shared with friends and that some of them randomly told me in passing about people they know having MC. Trying to block the negative thoughts, today I am pregnant!
  • @morethanamama so much in common. I was so chill for the first week and then my mind went crazy. I was like this with my last pregnancy during first tri (okay really up until my 20 week ultrasound), so I shouldn't be surprised, but I hate it!

@psmk521 i live fairly close to Seattle :-)
  • @JLaVO888 how far along are you? Because I'm 6+1 and it hit me like a ton of bricks this morning. Like, whoa. My boss spotted me shopping for saltines in the mini mart on my lunch break, and I was like, "Ahh, sh*t..."

  • @anitamargarita_82 hi! I’m in Seattle :)

    @babyodo ah, nice!
  • @babyodo 6 weeks tomorrow.

I’ve told a few people at work because I suck at secrets but it’s been nice to have a few people helping me out. My EA was able to go warm up a hot pocket for me when I finally thought I could stomach a bit of food.
  • @westslopemama I hate the caffeine headaches! I quit drinking coffee cold turkey and it's surprisingly not been too bad. Hopefully no headaches for you!

4w4d - Still a little crampy, but now sore boobs and insomnia are kicking in. No nausea yet. I never threw up with my ds but I was so nauseous all the time. yuck.
  • I the insomnia is becoming real.  I was up at 330 yesterday, this morning it was 230.   Yesterday I was at least productive and got up got ready and unloaded the dishwasher and picked up all my daughters toys and put then away.  Made my breakfast and lunch to take to work.  This morning I’m just sitting here in my recliner until I have to leave for work.  I’m exhausted 😴
  • Not sure if this is a pregnancy symptom, but in addition to insomnia I’ve been having CRAZY dreams. Anyone else?

My hips hurt and my tailbone feels out of alignment. Time to schedule chiro (For those that have never been to a chiropractor, I first went when I was pregnant with DD and it changed my life. Gave me so much relief. I highly recommend!)

@J@JLaVO888  Im with you on coffee sounding horrible. I've been doing okay with chai tea.

@coldbrew so many weird/crazy dreams, and very vivid. Lots of sex dreams, which I'm not minding.

    ETA Im 8w.
  • Ughhhh threw up all night long and TMI I also have the runs now. No not sure if I also have a stomach bug or my body just hates me that much.
  • Ughh @JLaVO888 that sounds terrible! I'm sorry! Sounds like a stomach bug to me with the diarrhea component. 😩 Hopefully that means it goes away soon, which I guess would be an upside versus it being pregnancy symptoms?
  • I also have the runs today.  I almost didn't make it to the bathroom twice.  I am starving, but scared to eat.  I work a very long day on Tuesdays and would hate to leave early.

@JLaVO888 I've had the runs for the past 2 days, but it's only in the morning about 20-30 after I wake up.  The throwing up part though is awful I'm sure.  Feel better!
  • I'm 6 and 5 today. I've been feeling the nausea a lot more the last 3 days which is exciting to me because I had no nausea when I was pregnant with my last that ended in mmc. So I'm taking it as a positive! Also have cravings but I've always loved food so who knows if that's pregnancy related lol. Also very sore boobs that I've had almost since week 4/5. Some days they hurt more than others. I'm a bit more emotional sometimes as well.
  • 8 weeks and I have:
    • sore boobs
    • constant nausea (this morning was the worst)
    • food aversion
    • bloating
    • super smell
    • super emotions
    • exhaustion
My mantra has been "I'll take this as a good sign" every time I get a lovely wave of nausea.
