Had a repeat ultrasound today at 27w5d and got a frontal face shot. They were checking placenta placement for a low lying placenta but I haven’t got the results yet. He was an active little dude and was head down, so that’s good. I almost passed out during the ultrasound though! Being flat on my back must have been compressing my inferior vena cava. Has anyone had this happen to them at a later term ultrasound?
@babyrummom yes! At my last ultrasound I was on my side for most of it cause I kept getting dizzy/nauseous on my back. Tech said very common with later ultrasounds.
@doraleigh35 and @mandarenee898 I had always heard about the possibility of getting lightheaded when being flat on my back, but it never happened to me until the ultrasound! I also work at the hospital I was getting it done at and all I could think of when I was getting nauseous and woozy was, I hope they don’t have to call a code and my coworkers hearing a code in radiology and knowing I just went up there!
Repeat ultrasound today at 26w5d. Baby was so sweet today! Much more relaxed than I’m November, so it all checked out as measuring on track. We even captured a shot of baby grabbing his/her own feet with his/her hands. So sweet! We did see baby’s face at one point as well, which was awesome! We didn’t get a good picture of it, though.
28 week US today, no profile pics because she wouldn't cooperate and kept turning her head inward.
They're sending me to specialist for a fetal echocardiogram. They said that on some angles everything was looking great, and on some angles, her stomach seemed to be too high into the chest, and then there were some angles they just couldn't get. While they said this is just to make sure, I'm really anxious and not taking it well. Doesn't help that it will be at least 2-3 days until I get a call from the specialist and then who knows how long before I can schedule to go in for the second test.
Other than that she looked good (or so they said...) and she was measuring a little over 3 lbs which puts her in the 77th percentile.
Ugh i'm just feeling really crummy about it all though.
@danibean19 easier said than done but try not to worry. Like @korthouse said, they’re playing it safe which is good because it means you and baby are getting such great care! Keep us updated! ❤️
@danibean19 I know it’s hard, but try not to worry until you have the echo. I’m getting a fetal echo on Tuesday due to the 2 vessel cord and my own heart condition. It’s scary, but I know it’s just a precaution. Hoping you get great results at the echo.
Happy to report flying colors on our fetal ECHO yesterday! It took nearly an hour for them to get all the angles, again little miss did not cooperate in her positions. It was also really uncomfortable with how hard they were pushing the wand in and all the different positions they made me try to get the pictures. Felt like being elbowed in the gut in the same 3 spots over and over for about an hour. BUT this all seems minor since we got good news and since I know labor will be 100x worse. I'm bruised and sore today but my heart is full!
@danibean19 Baby girl was also being super stubborn yesterday at my fetal echo. I was pressed, prodded, moved around, she was comfy snuggled up in there. Finally gave in and gave them the pictures they needed but JEEZ I'm in for it when she's an outside baby!
Edited to say: I'm so happy you also had good results! :-)
@fitzandgiggles DH has a fairly large nose. When I was pregnant with DS, we noticed a substantial looking nose on an early ultrasound. Until we found out he was a boy, we were a bit nervous.
We got to see baby today at 30w5d! Heart rate was about 135, and we are weighing about 3lb 4oz right now. It took some serious work to get baby to cooperate with the tech, but we made it happen! So ready to meet this beautiful baby!
Funny you guys mention noses. Both DH and I have distinct nose shapes, mine being the big one. With each kid we've been able to tell in the u/s who's nose they have.
