This is how bad my pregnancy brain is right now: this morning, while getting ready to get into the shower, I peed, took off my underwear, and then proceeded to throw them into the toilet I just peed in. To clarify, my hamper is not kept in the bathroom. Also, I mentally blamed DS for putting his night time pull-up in his hamper and subsequently covering the entire load in white gel the other day, but I'm starting to think more and more that it was probably me that put it in there. 🤦♀️

DH was going back in the house after getting the kids in the car for school (DD is still in a harness and it's getting hard for me to maneuver and buckle her in), and I put the car in drive instead of reverse and hit him. He wasn't hurt but he yelled out, "You can't have my life insurance yet!"
When I was pregnant with DS, I borrowed my mom's car and left the key in the ignition until she went to drive it the next day. I'm dangerous around cars while pregnant, obvs.
Last night H asked me to go get him a burrito from our local taqueria while he put DD1 to bed. The taqueria is literally three blocks from our house, a straight shot down our two-lane highway. I got in the car and forgot how to get there.
I have this new thing where I leave the house and think I’ve left the garage open, even if know I’ve closed it. For the last month I will turn around no matter how far away I am to go check to see if the garage is closed. I even close it 2-3 times to help my brain process that it is in fact closed, but it doesn’t seem to help.
When I was pregnant with DS1 I used to put the milk in the cabinet and the cereal in the fridge. With DS2 I’d leave the washer lid open and after it filled it would drain and never wash. 🤦🏻♀️
With DD I remember putting hand soap on my tooth brush instead of toothpaste.
This morning wasn't as bad, but I opened the fridge maybe 4 times trying to make lunch for DD each time I grabbed something else and not what I needed at all. I think I sent her with everything I wanted to. . . but I'm not sure. I do know I forgot my yogurt and I'm a little upset about that.
@rox7777 you need to get one of the wifi garage door openers! I always feel the same, but I can go on the app and see if it's open and also can open/close it from my phone which is super handy for things like this!
@thepretzelchick omg so glad your husband is ok and glad he was able to make a joke about it lol!
Last week I had to go back to Sam's to have them check my brand new tires because I had horrible vibration. Turns out the weights had fallen off immediately after they balanced my tires so I wasn't imagining it, but it meant 2 trips to Sam's and missing a few hours of work so I was already frustrated. This was also at 8:30 am before I had any breakfast and all I wanted to do was go to work for my breakfast sandwich at the cafe. I got in my car, put it in drive, and nothing. I've been telling DH I think something in the transmission is acting up for awhile now so I just instantly assumed the transmission was completely out right where it sat because it wouldn't go forward or backward or anything. I called DH almost in tears and he immediately says "did you check the parking brake?" uhh no why would I check the parking brake? I've maybe ONCE used a parking brake my entire life in our lovely flat land of central IL. But that morning in the middle of a wide open completely flat Sam's parking lot they decided to put it on, and it never even crossed my mind to check. I know this makes me sound kind of dumb for those of you who regularly use a parking brake, but it's 100% not part of my routine and completely threw me off. DH was very nice about it though I'm sure he told all of his friends for a nice laugh later.
Last week I poured myself a glass of water, put the glass back in the fridge and brought the pitcher into the living room with me. MH came in, looked at me, pointed at the pitcher, and said "thirsty?"
@bananapanda I am a car person and have spent most of my driving years owning a stick shift where parking brake was part of my routine, and I would be pretty confused if someone randomly put it on in my automatic car that I now drive.
I keep literally forgetting to hit start on any and all appliances, come back later and get confused. Dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave, toaster oven, all of them. So frustrating.

I spent 5 minutes looking for the hair tie that was already in my hair. Then I spent more time looking for a specific pair of pants that I had deliberately put in the hamper earlier.
I'm also having trouble with words. When I'm talking the wrong words come out of my mouth or two words will merge/slur together to make a new word that is not in fact a word. My husband makes fun of me, but it's a real thing and sometimes it's alarming because it's clear my brain is not working right, this is beyond just being tired and forgetful.
@bananapanda@pourmeanothermocktail Similarly, I am a mechanical engineer and generally know more about cars than MH, but once (when I was not pregnant) we went camping and didn't have cell phone service, and I took his car to a little local gas station to get some gas and buy a bundle of firewood. My car at the time was a stick shift, but his was automatic. I was by myself, in the middle of nowhere, with no cell service, and I got back in the car and it wouldn't start. I totally panicked because I couldn't make any phone calls, and probably sat in the car for about a half hour trying to figure out how I would get in touch with MH back at the campground to let him know the car needed to be towed somewhere, and then how to get back to him. Finally, while trying to start the car for the 100th time, I looked down at the (automatic) shifter and noticed I had never put the car in park. The car will stop if it's not in park, but it won't start.
Also, after DS was born, the very first time we went out to dinner with friends, I again forgot to put the car into park and it rolled backwards into a truch with a steel bumper and crunched our SUV's bumper.
@pirateduck I am also struggling with words and names. I've basically asked one of my coworkers to be my full time thesaurus for words my brain can't seem to think of on its own right now.

Yes @shamrocandroll I either can't think of the right word (for something ordinary, I'm not talking completing the crossword puzzle here) or the word I am thinking and the word that comes out of my mouth are not the same.

This is also me, all day everyday.
@shamrocandroll Not ONLY on silly automatic cars not start if not in park, some of them, the keys won't even come out. Or...lol...you spent like a whole minute searching around in the foot well for the clutch, and haven't even tried to start it, because your foot is still searching....before you realize there is no clutch to hold down.
Or the very first time I drove my mom's BMW, I backed it out of the driveway OK, put it in drive, accelerated up to maybe 18-20 ish mph, then put the clutch in to shift to second. There was no clutch. I literally planted my left foot on the brake at 20 ish. It had sensitive brakes. Left a 10' long black skid mark 3 doors down from our house for at least 2 years. Oops.

This thread is hilarious an I love it. My daily pregnancy brain moment is that I still can't remember all of my new students' names. Once I have one name I forget another. I've warned my students that just because I know your name today, does not mean I'll know them next week. Btw, I only have 35 students this semester.
Nothing too major over here yet but yesterday after I was done grocery shopping and about to get into the car to leave I had a moment of panic about where my grocery bags were... You know, the ones I just put in the car...
My entire life is a pregnancy brain moment recently. Yesterday at work, I forgot the word street and just stared at my coworker saying "you know that thing we park on"
@mamaj1220 bah-hahaha that's too good. I feel like Ariel singing "Part of Your World" some days. "Walking around on those.... whadda ya call em? Oh, feet"

@drkoyya I'll have students for years at a time and I've been mixing up their names lately.
DH asked me the other day why I bought a ham steak that had been in the fridge the other day. My response was "I have no clue, I remember buying it, I remember having a plan for it, but I don't know what the plan was." At that point, it had been in the fridge a couple weeks. I finally used it last night in a quiche. Still don't know why I bought it. I don't buy ham on the regular...
@pirateduck I feel like my vocabulary is 1/4 of what it usually is! It’s the worst when I’m running a meeting and I’m like “you guys know... that part that we were talking about that had that thing going on with it!” 😂 No sympathy from my old men coworkers!
I was so convinced that’s yesterday was Wednesday that I went to the bathroom to take my HDBD picture. It wasn’t until THE MIDDLE of my Tuesday meeting that I realized that it was indeed actually Tuesday.
This morning, MH reminded me before he got in the shower to leave cash out for the dog walkers. I thanked him and then still forgot, despite both him and my phone reminding me.
