@JLaVO888 I don’t even understand why anyone would ask that now. I guarantee some that are active now will become inactive, and there will be more people jumping into the BMB over the next month. I got super close with a smallish group of ladies on my last BMB, still talk on the daily and have met a bunch IRL; we didn’t even start a FB group until after our babies were born.

My first BMB March 16 didn’t start ours until like the month we were due and even then it was hard for a lot of us to feel comfortable to switch over.
My EDD is 10/18. I am 36yo. I have a 2 DD 20 years old and 13 years old. I live in Atlanta, GA. I noticed my cycle was late but I never thought I was pregnant. I took a home test on 2/11 trying to confirm my cycle was running late. Imagine my surprise. I’m having a hard time emotionally dealing with this news. Starting over was not the plan. I’ve been with my significant other for 1 1/2 years and we are both shocked (not happy, not excited, but not mad either).
I work for the state and he works for a chemical plant. We dated long distance until December and now we live together. Guess we having too much sex. I have an appointment on 3/11 with my OB
Correct, I did not introduce myself further than “hey I’m pregnant with number 3” because I prefer a Facebook group. With my second child I found that group in this forum. I am still great friends with 500 wonderful moms from all over the world. We started our journey together in the first trimester. Anyways. No big deal. Some of them are pregnant again. I’ll just ask them what group they’re in. Later!
I’m all for a Facebook group but later on. My last bmb went to Facebook while we were all in our third tri and I liked it that way. When you start a group this early on, you get a lot of people who really won’t participate. I‘m not comfortable with random lurkers on Facebook.
Not to mention, a lot of women due at the end of October won’t even know their pregnant yet and therefore haven’t had a chance to join this group 🤷🏻♀️

The problem is that people will want to join just to be a part of it then never participate beyond using the group as their personal google. My Facebook group from my last BMB has only 40 people in it which is great. To me, it’s more meaningful to wait until later on when the number of people starts to die down.
I can easily find a large mom group on Facebook to join where everyone is pregnant at the same time, but my bmb group is much more special.

I agree with @profmcgonagall@deaddahliah@morethanamama and @JLaVO888 To me FB groups are for more personal engagement and relationships. My last BMB (july16) we started one once we were a tight knit group and were falling out with other bumpies, have since met most of them IRL, and talk daily for the past 4 years.
If I want to be apart of a 500 person group....that's what this is, isn't it?
Totally agree. My last BMB moved to FB in 3rd tri and there are only 30 of us. I wouldn't be comfortable sharing nearly as much with a group of 500. I'm sure you can just search for a group on FB. A "secret" group of 500 seems pointless to me.
My first Facebook group was also only 40 moms and 5 of us actually broke off and made our own little group and I still talk to them almost every day. My second group was too lax and let a ton of people into the FB group and I ended up leaving because it didn’t feel safe and I didn’t feel like I knew most of them. When we are sharing about things as precious as our babies and then later more about our lives, a group of 500 strangers on FB with the ability to see my real name isn’t something I’m interested in all.
Not to mention that on FB I would have to share my first and last name, even in a secret group . Which I'm totally ok doing, once I'm in a group of people I've actually gotten to know over 9 months. My old BMB is 25 of us, so really small!
Hi Everyone. I am EDD October 22nd. This is our second and was very planned. Our DD is 5. Took a pregnancy test 1 day before my period was suppose to happen, on my lunch break and it was pretty dark so there way no denying it. I work in accounting and my DH in data analysis and we live in Alabama.
Hi all. I am a 30 year old mom of 1. My DS is 3. This past November 2019 I lost a baby girl at 19 weeks gestation to Turner Syndrome. I just recently found out I am 5 weeks pregnant. It's going to be a long wait until March 16th for first ultrasound. Even post D&E my period went back to 28 clockwork cycle so when I didn't get my period on 2/10 I knew I had to be pregnant took 5 pee tests.spread out between then and 2/17 all a resounding positive. Based on last menses I should have a EDD of 10/19.
I had a feeling, no symptoms, took my first pregnancy test (ever since I usually wait for AF) and found out 9DPO and 5 days before missed period which should have come today... tested everyday since and still in disbelief. Told DH we should wait for Monday to really celebrate. Have a feeling I will be taking lots of pregnancy tests this week haha.
This is my first pregnancy and hopefully first baby. I am way more anxious/nervous than I thought I’d be.
I work in Post Secondary, DH is in construction.
EDD 10/31.
so happy there’s a community to chat with since we won’t be sharing with family and friends until 12 weeks. This girl needs to chat haha
Hi 👋 ladies! I’m pregnant with Number 2 (that’s his/her official name). I’m 38 and have a 2 yo son (Feb 2018), and had an early loss the year before that. We had been trying for a few months, but I ran a marathon in November, so I’m sure that screwed up my cycles a bit. I had a positive test last Monday, right before we took a short weekend trip for my birthday (that meant no wine 🍷 😢 but for a great reason!). My EDD is 10/21, but I know I ovulated 2 days late so might be adjusted a little bit. I work in medicine and my husband does sales from home. He travels quite a bit for work, so I’m anxious about being pregnant and all the lovely side effects while taking care of a “busy” 2 yo boy. There are at least 4 ladies (that I know of) at work pregnant at the some time, so it’s definitely contagious!
ETA-somehow I accidentally logged into the app with an old log in. I’m going to resign in and repost with my current screen name. Apologies for double posting in advance!!
Second try with the correct account! Sorry again 😬

July 2015 didn't start a FB group until our kids were about 1 and we had a super active, large group! We had 100 people in the FB group, then the board died.
***ATTENTION ANYONE WHOSE USERNAME STARTS WITH 'KNOTTIE'!!***
PLEASE, for the love all that is holy, change your username. With so many posters whose names start with Knottie374102836482374087 it gets difficult to tell you apart, and my old brain can't handle that. It's much easier to interact with you when we can tell you apart - especially outside of the Introductions thread.
Here's how to change your username: 1) Login to your account via theknot.com 2) In the upper right hand corner, there is a little person icon with "Your Account" listed next to it. Hover over that, and a drop down menu will appear. 3) Click on Your Profile in the drop-down menu 4) In Your Profile info, on the second line is your Username. Change it to something you like. 5) Log out 6) Log back into The Bump (it may take up to 24 hours for your new username to appear, but it may be instantaneous).
Thank you!! My old lady brain appreciates your efforts.
P.S. You'll want to change your profile pic, too. I think you can do that within The Bump without having to login to The Knot, though.
@knottie sometimes it just takes a bit but also try logging out and back in. There have been a lot of knotties recently, not just you, so don't feel bad! Welcome!
+1 vote for not moving to Facebook until much later. I do not like sharing a lot on social media as is, and I would also like a smaller group of people I know!
Hi all! My name is Brittany, and I am 31. I got my positive pregnancy test on February 8th, and my blood work confirmed it on February 10th. By my estimations my due date is around October 18th (which is actually my sisters birthday and the 19th is my sister in laws, haha). This is not my first child. I have an *almost* 12 year old boy named Ethan (he'll be 12 February 28th). We're super excited and anxious for our first ultrasound and prenatal visit. It isn't until March 17th! Anyway, nice to meet you all, and I look forward to the next 9 months with all of you
My first BMB was March 14 and we went to FB right after our babies were born. Our group is extremely active (only on FB) to this day and I’ve met a bunch of them IRL. +1 to waiting. Stranger danger and all that 😉
Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations! We have a spreadsheet as well so feel free to access and add your info if you'd like. The post with the link is pinned in the announcements:)
Hi Everyone! *My username has not yet updated, but should change shortly to northernbeccip*
I have not yet had the chance to read everyone's introductions, but will do so once I'm done writing this post.
My EDD is October 23 2020. Got my first faint positive on Feb 10th at 9 DPO. Got it confirmed with blood work on Feb 13th, and finally got a dye stealer yesterday at 17 DPO! Yay
I am 27 years old, turning 28 in May, and happily married. My hubsand and I started trying in August, and have had one early miscarriage (started bleeding at 6 weeks, Dr figured it stopped progressing at 5 weeks) back in November, and then a chemical in December. I'm hoping this time the little bean sticks, thinking the dye stealer is a good sign as that never happened with my early miscarriage.
Non pregnancy related facts about me: I live in Northern Ontario Canada, and love spending my time outdoors! I have a border collie/lab mix named Tikka, and a bengal cat named Gibson. I am an analyst for the hospital here.
Thank you all! Can't wait to meet you ladies

Hi there - I’m Michele and my husband, Clay, and I just got our BFP this past weekend with our first after trying for 2.5 years. This will be our 🌈 baby and due date is October 26 (three days before our four-year anniversary)!
We are very excited and cautiously optimistic and are looking forward to our first u/s appointment on March 9.
We live in Atlanta and have four (yes, four) fur babies. I work at Coca-Cola and my husband is a general contractor. We’re really looking forward to this adventure and I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you!
Me, too! I'm a huge Disney person. I've been to WDW ten times since 2011, and will be going again in a year. I also have two Disney pinup tattoos (Ariel and Belle) on my right arm.
Feels like we might need pictures of these!!
Sorry I missed this! Here they are (in a spoiler because they're huge):
It's kinda hard to see Ariel since I was dancing along to MH's band at a beer festival last summer, but you can kinda see her there.
