@sunshinesea22 thanks! At times it does feel like I overcommitted, lol. But I also keep reminding myself that I can start out slow and ramp up as I go.
@soprano19 please share! And if not PM me the link! I would love to follow/support. I’ve thought of starting one a few times myself, and focus on traveling as well as working in a make dominated field as a working mom. But alas, I never find the time!
@soprano19 I think I have started approximately 9 blogs in my life, none of them have more than 2 or 3 entries and then I completely abandon them. I really wish I had the discipline to commit to one, because so many people have told me I should write one.
I admire anyone who can knit or crochet. I tried and have zero patience for that activity.
I love sewing but rarely have time for it. My last project was actually renovating my 2 piece basement bathroom. If I can figure out how to post photos from mobile I will 🤔
I haven't hung it up yet and I'm still working on some feathers to hang on the sides...(also excuse the ducktape and messy bookshelf in the back lol) I made this to hang above the crib, I've really been feeling the boho vibes.
@randic22 nice. I've been thinking about working on something like this pic, some feathers, some fabric/ribbon, some flowers... We'll see if that ever happens, I have lots of good intentions when it comes to projects for baby, but really I have to focus on things like our natural gas hook up, which is far more important but far less fun.
@pirateduck the to do list of must do vs want to do is so hard these days!!! And then I usually end up doing neither and watching Netflix instead 🤷🏼♀️
The sign for the nursery is done and I'm OBSESSED Probably could've done it myself but my friend did such a good job. It's already my favorite gift. I can't wait to pick it up and hang it up in his room.
I just realized I never posted this in December when I made it. Another pregnant mom friend and I got out without the kids one Sunday morning and went to a workshop. Since it was made so fresh from greens we cut off branches from a Christmas tree farm ourselves, it's still hanging on my house, going strong!

DD is home sick and just wanted to snuggle on the couch and watch Animal Planet with me, so I finished this one that I've been working on and off since September.
DH is going out of town this weekend which means i have crafty saturday all to myself! I have a couple decorations for the nursery planned 1) painted canvas with saying, 2) mobile, 3) wall hanging. Hehe, big plans for one day ;-) We will see if i accomplish any of them! (especially since i havent bought any of the supplies yet.)
Our Journey:
Me: 40 TTC since 2017 3/18-9/18- IUI's 11/18- IVF #1 1/19- IVF #2 8/19- DE Cycle #1- 5 PGS tested normal 9/19- FET #1- SUCCESS! May 2020 10/21- FET #2- SUCCESS! July 2022
I don’t know if this really counts as crafty, but I couldn’t find a dresser I liked that would work with our medium tone wood crib and charcoal grey recliner, so I decided I wanted to paint one navy blue! We bought and assembled an unfinished pine dresser from Ikea, got milk paint, and finished it ourselves. Used bronze/black hardware from Lowe’s. It looks much darker in this picture, but it really is navy blue, not black.
@sunshinesea22 that definitely counts as crafty, looks great!
I need to trim the bottom of the mobile evenly but I tried out a pretty simple macrame project for a nursery mobile and I am happy with the way it turned out.
I'm blessed to be surrounded by crafty people. My coworker's wife crocheted a blanket for baby. I had no idea she was doing it. It's super sweet considering I've only known this coworker for 5 months and I never met his wife. Coincidentally, it compliments the nursery sign PERFECTLY. This made my day.
Personally, my next crafting project is to paint picture frames. Super simple. I really want to make a "Mamba Mentality" sign for my office but I need to think about how I want it to look.
ugh my baby blanket is taking me FOREVER and i just want to do more things and i'm afraid i'm going to run out of time!! (this has happened to me every pregnancy, so nothing new lol)

@randic22 So cool and a nice idea for above the crib!

@brettanomyces I'd love to be able to reno a bathroom like that!
@randic22 ooo I like that for above the crib and can't wait to see the finished product
@pirateduck something like that would be so cute! I feel you on the adult responsibilities taking priority over the fun stuff. Adulting is the worst.
@drkoyya Great sign
