@allie456 hemorrhoids are no fun. Besides what @m6agua mentioned- kinda gross but if they are able to be “tucked” back inside, do that. It helps a lot.
@mamaj1220 I had no warning signs. I got food poisoning with DS and the violent vomiting plus baby weight must have been too much for my body, because there they were. They never fully went away. Super fun.
I just read the posts about hemorrhoids earlier and thought "I am so glad that isn't a symptom I have".
Potential TMI WARNING: Sure enough-- I thought too soon! I went to the bathroom a few hours ago and noticed a few drops of bright red blood on the toilet paper. I wouldn't say I feel any real pain in the anal area otherwise. I don't normally have "regular" bowel movements. Right around the start of the year I found myself going a lot which was weird. It only lasted a week or two and kind of got back to 1-2 times a week of varying degrees. The last few times I have gone over the last week or so-- it's been mostly what I call "poolets". So, perhaps it is related to this? I had a movement earlier today maybe 4-5 hours before I had the few droplets.
I'm not sure if this is related but it's giving me major "freak out" combining it with the droplets. I have generally felt "sore" down there-- just the general vagina region has felt sore. Maybe a kind of sore you'd feel if you had sex too long/too hard (I haven't recently). Just a general discomfort. I didn't think anything of it because it hasn't been debilitating or anything but now mixing that with the blood is making my PGAL brain freak out and think all sorts of things.
Anyone have thoughts on this? I am going to send my doc a message on his online portal to get his advice/see if he wants me to come in sooner than my Thursday appointment.
@doctorcrime Assuming the bleeding isn't vaginal, I'd say you were either having a bit of bleeding if your poop is too hard or you may have some internal hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids can be internal or external (or both - yay for me!). Drink lots of water, do what you can to soften stool, and, of course, do whatever your doctor suggests.
Hi ladies! I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. At my 12 week appointment my cervical length was measuring 4.6cm. At my 21 week appointment it decreased to 3.1cm. I’m trying not to worry because it’s still not considered “short” but I am worried it’s shortening so fast. Has anyone else experienced this?
@ellie2020 I know it's easier said then done - but if your doctor isn't worried then I would try not to worry either! I don't have any experience with it, but I'm sure if there was something to worry about, your OB would have talking to you about it!
@ellie2020 is this something your doctor mentioned? I have no clue what my cervical length was at my appointments. I'm sure they measured it, but since no one mentioned it, I assume it's fine. Your doctor would totally discuss it with you if it was of concern. Since you are worried though I'd put a call in to your office or leave a message on the portal (if you have one) and someone will get back to you. If it would set your mind at ease, it's worth asking.
Has anyone else ever had an ocular migraine? (totally different to regular migraines) So freakin annoying. I feel like I've had more of these in pregnancy, which I attribute to my poor sleep.

Me, no, but my mom gets them sometimes, and my friend had them only when pregnant with her twins-hormones can be a cause. She couldn't drive after about 24 weeks as true natural outdoor light was a trigger. It was awful, and scary.

@pirateduck Yes. And it was only during the last 3-4 weeks of my pregnancy with DD. It's what put me on bed rest at 40+4. The only way I could get them to stop was by laying on my side and relaxing. Bed rest reduced the number of episodes i had. Definitely mention it to your doctor if you haven't yet. My OB ordered so many blood tests at the end because of them and when the labs always came back ok, she decided it was just a pregnancy normal for me. They went away immediately after delivery.
Thank you ladies! I will mention it at my next appointment. I have had them in the past, but I definitely feel they are more frequent in pregnancy for whatever reason. I have mentioned it to a doctor and eye doctor in the past, neither was concerned, but I was not pregnant at that time.
@pirateduck I've had them before and they also seem more frequent in pregnancy for me. Fortunately for me mine seem to go away fairly quickly and aren't all that often anymore (first tri was the worst for me) so I never did mention to the dr. Hope you are able to find some relief!
@bananapanda I feel like I have them more frequently, but they don't last any longer when I do have them, the come on randomly/suddenly and are done in 20 minutes to a half hour, so I can generally get about the whole day as normal, fortunately. I think I'll start logging them on a calendar, I'm sure the doctor will ask. Fortunately I think I've only had one regular migraine since pregnancy, so the frequency of those seems to be less.
@pirateduck I have horrible light sensitivity and astigmatism plus my vision gets progressively worse with each pregnancy, ocular migraines are my life while pregnant. Unfortunately for me it seems to be attributed to already poor eye health and hormones. 800mg of Tylenol, a small cup of caffeinated coffee and a nice dark room are all that seems to help mine.
Anyone else noticing a lot of braxton hicks? I'm surprised for only being 26 weeks that I get them at least once a day. But being a FTM there have been a lot of things that surprised me lol
@rox7777 Thanks! I'm sorry you have to go through this as well, and hopefully your vision changes/disturbances aren't too bad this time around. I did take two tylenol with a caffeinated soda just in case. I've suffered headaches and regular migraines my whole life and the doctors always stress that the key is to catch them super early if there's any chance of any medication working, so yeah, just in case it's an aura precursor of something worse I do try and take something immediately when it happens. Whether or not it's really needed, I don't know, but it can't hurt and a full on migraine is not something I do not want to tangle with ever, and most regular migraine meds are not safe in pregnancy. I was feeling kinda rough this morning, but that's not uncommon these days, so I'm not entirely surprised, but I really hate them, they definitely cause me anxiety every time.
@randic22 I'm pretty sure I had them last week (23ish weeks) but I knew I had not had enough to drink at all over the past two days. Since then I've been drinking more water and haven't noticed anything nearly as strong.
@randic22 I've been having a lot of BH over the past few weeks. I don't remember them starting this early last time, but I was also off for the summer at this time in my pregnancy with DD, so I was probably a lot less active and drinking water more conscientiously.
@randic22 I'm definitely noticing BH. Which I have to say during my pregnancy with DD i was oblivious to them. I didn't feel/notice any sort of contractions until it was go time. I was sent to the OB ER when I past my due date and they hooked me up to their machine and asked how the contractions felt and I was just like "What contractions?" Water and sitting is definitely helping this time.
@randic22 My first pregnancy they started around 17 weeks, and then by 13 weeks with subsequent ones. Dehydration, but also a full bladder are triggers for me. By the middle of third trimester the BH hits just BEFORE I feel my bladder needing to empty. Super annoying. I would mention it to doctor at next visit. Timeable ones or more than 4 an hour are generally a reason for immediate call (before 37 weeks gestation that is!). For us lucky ones with irritable uterus....that's just the normal unfortunately.
But, not weird to have them every so often. Not at all. I have been for months.

Add me to the BH group. Multiple times a day, especially by the end of the day. @pourmeanothermocktail a full bladder is definitely a trigger for me too.
Re: January Symptoms
Perri bottle helps a lot with not wiping or in my case it was a water bottle I filled up and poked a hole in the cap. Lots of preparation h too
