Re: Weekly Randoms 1/20 - 1/26

  • Ahhh, the joys of pregnancy exhaustion. I went to my room when I got home from work and accidentally passed out. Woke up to DS having found the butt cream and spreading it all over his arms.

  • @macheno I took diclegis during my last pregnancy (which is a long acting for of unisom and b6) and it did knock me out for about two weeks but then I adjusted. If your insurance covers it you should ask for the prescription. Because it is the long acting forms of both medications there are less side effects. The diclegis helped keep me from vomiting all day but one or two episodes a day would sneak through. Anything more than that I had zofran for, but I'm not keen on taking that unless it is an absolute necessity. It's not as safe as we once thought it was. I also used preggo pops nonstop and that seemed to help.

  • @mflowers929 I have a June '18 baby too :)

I'm excited for parts of the newborn stage. I love a lot of it but breastfeeding was super painful for me for a good two months. I'm hoping this time it won't be as bad since maybe my nipples will be used to it lol. And the sleep deprivation sucks. But I do love a lot about when they are that tiny. Like someone else said there are pluses and minuses to all ages.

Also, is anyone else having trouble with the mobile site? I'm using desktop right now and it's working fine but every time I try on my phone it takes foreeeever to load.

  • @elsie42 yes! I’ve been turning my WiFi in and off because it’s so frustrating!
  • @elsie42 yes! I've given up on coming online on my phone and just wait until i'm at a computer.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  • @elsie42 ditto on the mobile issues. Honestly I have always found the mobile kind of iffy. I was hoping it would be less so this time around.

  • @beaandthebabes I’m so sorry it’s a rough day all around. I hope you feel better soon!
  • @beaandthebabes sorry today has been tough! Hope the snow day with DS made you feel a bit better.

  • @beaandthebabes hugs mama! Sorry today has been a hard one!

Ditto to the mobile app/site being slow. I just started clicking the loading “X” in the bar (where you put the website, why can’t I think of a name for that?) and it goes right to the page for me.
  • @beaandthebabes hugs and peaceful thoughts coming your way.

Personally I'm finding that it feels like all of my symptoms are turned up to a 10 and it sucks, especially the being emotional part because there's some really sucky stuff happening at my work and I go between ragey and wanting to break down.

  • @mflowers929 oh no I’m sorry to hear that you’re dealing with some difficult things right now! I feel you on the emotional side. I can barely get through confrontational situations without wanting to blow up or start crying. Hope things get better for you at work soon <3
  •  @mflowers929 @greyl I'm feeling alllll the emotions right now.  Tonight after a stressful time with my daughter running errands topped off by needing to get food fast because we were all getting hangry I started crying in the middle of the restaurant.  I'm a cryer by nature but I usually can control myself a little bit better than that.  Also struggling with all the nausea.  It was this bad during my last pregnancy but I was hoping maybe this time it would be easier...haha
  • Also thank you for the  <3 yesterday, ladies.
  • @beaandthebabes we've apparently already decided on names for a boy and a girl lol

  • I feel like DH will bring up our list from last time and I will be disenchanted with all of the names because they were V's almost names. And because I'm insanely obsessed with names to begin with. That is why I started a blog, because there are so many names that I am in love with that he would never in a month of Sundays approve of.
  • Go you @mflowers929! We (mostly me) have such a hard time committing to names. I struggle picking out a piece of art to hang on my blank walls let alone such a huge permanent thing like a name.

  • I have a name in mind that I really love, but tradition is DH chooses the first name (of course, I have to like it, but he essentially thinks it up and I yes or no it) and I choose middle names. He always picks great names, but I just really kind of like this one. Hate to ruin tradition, but......... we will see!
  • Thus far all of our kiddos (steps included) the middle name is a family name.
@chasingroygbiv if you love it he might love it too. No harm just suggesting it.
  • I chose DSs name (with DH approval), so DH chose the boy name. The girl name is one that came to me in a dream so that one is non negotiable.
DSs middle name is my dads name, so if this is a boy, his middle name will be FILs name. The girl name is family names with a twist

  • Picking a boys name last time around was so hard for us. Naming our girls was easy and I think we already have a girls name picked out this time around. I like lots of boys names but don’t LOVE them. I didn’t even love DS’s name and essentially just let DH pick. It’s grown on me and it’s his name now, but i still don’t love it as a name. Not sure if that makes sense.

  • @robyn2201 Picking a boy name was so hard for DH and me. We didn't want something boring, and we definitely didnt want the name to be something too popular. We wanted something unique but not weird. It's not that we couldn't agree; we were just "eh" on any name either of us suggested. I was super nervous that DS was going to be nameless at his birth.

I’ve loved baby names for as long as I can remember. I have a list of about 100 or so names that I find interesting. Out of those only a handful I would actually use though. Haven’t pitched any to H yet. Have a few ideas for a girl and so far only one or two boy names are standing out to me. One of them was SUPER popular but I think it is falling off now. I loved it before it became popular so I might just stick with it anyway if H likes it!
  • Send good thoughts my way. My husband was up all night with what I think is the stomach flu and on top of that our DD decided sleep didn’t seem like something she wanted to do. I’ve pretty much been awake since 1am and I have to go to work and do something for my internship. And now just praying I don’t get the stomach flu. Do not have time for that!!
  • I've had three boys so I'm totally over boy names. DH has one he loves and I like it, but nothing is making me swoon for boys. We've got our girl name picked though!

  • We have a girl name we agree on but haven't found any boy names that we both like.  I'm glad we have months to make a decision  :D

Would anyone be interested in a general symptoms thread? Or should that go in randoms/questions?

    Edit- randoms, not ransoms.  :p
  • @chasingroygbiv that seems different than questions to me and could be its own thread. I just lurked August and it looks like they have a monthly symptoms thread. So I say, go for it!
  • @chasingroygbiv yes! I keep trying to figure out where to post random symptoms stuff so I think a thread would be good
  • Didn’t get much sleep last night. Why? Well first I stayed up too late bc when DH is out of town for work (he was gone M-F this week), that’s just what I tend to do. Then as I was actually winding down/turning off the light/etc I hear a CRASH! So I jump out of bed, grab my pistol and start searching the house for what fell/who caused it (DD sleeps through the whole thing). After finding absolutely nothing out of place/suspicious, I check my bathroom stall shower and find that the suction cup hook that DH’s bath brush was hanging on fell down and that the shower + our bathroom just made it really echoey and loud. All’s well that ends well, but it took me forever to calm down and fall asleep. Can’t wait for bedtime tonight!
  • This app is honestly so frustrating and makes it hard to check in and interact.  :( The threads rarely load for me, it just freezes up all the time! This has to be why our board is sooo quiet (along with us getting a late start too due to not being pinned). Hopefully there will be an update soon. What a bummer!
  • @chasingroygbiv it's highly unfortunate but ime it's been this way for years
  • DH's shop just bought a printing press from California and he and the install guy have been at work every day all day since last Sunday. Last night DH's boss took them both out to dinner and he came home with a gift for me. His boss had insisted on buying me a meal as well since I was home with the kiddo (they love our kid) so I got a steak dinner. Usually I'm not a big meat eater but when I am pregnant my iron deficiency really brings out my inner carnivore. I was so happy.
  • It just occurred to me that my anti nausea medicine is contributing to my fatigue... It never did before, but with the extra progesterone everything is cranked up to 10. I took one last night before we left for a party, came home, and crashed at like 8. And today I took one before work since I was struggling to keep my breakfast down, and I swear I floated through the first few hours.
Ugh, how can I balance the not wanting to puke with my need to not fall asleep at the drop of a hat 😫
