@babytimeagain my draw will be at 10+5, but the NT scan is not till 12+5
@emiliadkay oh I am so nervous. SIL geve me back the, "Guess What?" Onesie I used to tell her at Christmas, jic, but I also managed to rush order a custom, "next baby _family_name_ August 2020," onesie, similar to what we used two years ago (at the same party). So fx it comes in time!
Raves/Rants: Rave: Got out of the house and went to the library today. Rant: I wish my kids would just get better. 1 is still coughing occasionally, and 2 is still snotting like crazy and coughing occasionally. They've had perma-colds since early Dec. Plus fevers thrown in there for a weekish.
GTKY What is a tradition or special place you are excited to do with baby? Hmm, I can't really think of any. We don't have a lot of traditions. I'm looking forward to do more sewing for my children. I make a stocking and a stuffed animal for each one for their first Christmas, so I'll do that again.

How are you feeling? I shouldn't complain, this is a thousand times better than my last pregnancy. The only problem is I need to eat a substantial snack/meal every few hours, and I really can't gain a bunch of weight (I'm already overweight). So I'm a little worried, and hoping this hunger nausea goes away soon.
Raves/Rants: We took DS to Disneyland for his birthday today!

GTKY What is a tradition or special place you are excited to do with baby? Disneyland, I love it, I went a lot as a kid too. Also zoos and kids museums.
How are you feeling? I think I’m finally turning the corner on the constant nausea. I still have to eat every two hours but I think the worst might be over.
Raves/Rants: spent the past 4 days in Northern California visiting family and stayed with my mom. It was so nice to have someone take care of my daughter and me - I didn’t cook a single meal or do any dishes. I feel so spoiled!
Questions: not right now
GTKY What is a tradition or special place you are excited to do with baby? I agree with others who have said the daily routine of bedtime. Bathtime/storytime is a daily ritual in our house and I’m looking forward to baby being more than a few month old and having the two kids bathing and reading together. ( I realize I probably have idyllic visions of this and the reality will be chaos 😬)
Upcoming appointments: 12w scan in the first week of Feb
How are you feeling? Some days not too bad, some days nautious 90% of the day.
Raves/Rants: I've been craving fruit but it's really not the season for it. The last three weeks I've baught lots of fruit and it's all been rubish.

GTKY What is a tradition or special place you are excited to do with baby? I'm excited about breaking a tradition and having Christmas this year in our own house for the first time in the ten years since I met my husband.
@cornichonmam I’m right there with you with the fruit craving. In Japan they had delicious strawberries. Each one was ripped and sweet, I was shocked. They were hella expensive, but worth every penny we paid for them!
Also, we did the same thing about Christmas. We use to go up to New York every year. But my daughters first Christmas we just stayed home as a family of three. We said that we would rotate each year. So one year it would be just us, one year with his family, in New York, one with mine, and then one would travel somewhere. Well my mil is moving into a two bedroom condo in Harlem and I told her that she lost her Christmas rights, so now every Christmas morning will be spent at our home, which I’m so looking forward to, and we will rotate between our families in Maryland each year. I truly just want Christmas morning spend with my family in our own home doing our Christmas morning traditions.

@cornichonmam The most liberating thing my husband and I started doing is not celebrating Christmas Day anywhere but our own home. In the future, if DH's block leave happens to fall around Christmas and we'll be home visiting anyway, that's one thing, but we've made a point not to do a bunch of traveling on the actual day to go here, there, and everywhere. We do our own thing with our own kids here at home, and it's the best not to have a ton of rushing around to do.
@cornichonmam We are planning doing the same thing this year and breaking our tradition of running around on Christmas Eve and Christmas day to four different places across three states (one of which we live in), but it's too much. We've said for 12 years that we will do it until baby comes, so we knew this last Christmas was the last one. We are hoping to move into our big forever home this year and invite everyone to our house. We are big on family so I still want to see everyone. We will just have a revolving door of guests and serve food buffet style all day long.. people will bring food... It'll be low key and I cannot wait!

@cornichonmam (and others) That sounds like an excellent plan. DH and I alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas between our families each year, but have always made the trek back to our hometown for both, and man it is exhausting. That said, none of our family lives locally, we don't have enough space to host, and spending the holidays with family is really important to DH in particular. I think this year we might ask people to come to us for Thanksgiving and just rent an airbnb and go out for the main meal, then suck it up and travel for Christmas, but I still don't know.
