  • EDD/weeks+days: Feb 1 / 35+2

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): Pineapple or 2 end to end venti cups from Starbucks

Upcoming appointments: sizing ultrasound on Friday and the beginning of the weekly OB checkups next week Thursday

How are you feeling? Tired, uncomfortable, very round

Raves/Rants: Raves - I am so excited to see our little one again this Friday. Our last u/s was the anatomy scan round 2 16 weeks ago and, although I don't need them for reassurance my baby is alive, I miss seeing it every 6ish weeks like we were at the beginning.
Rants - a couple of days ago I commented to my mom that baby seemed to have given up its favourite movement of stretching in favour of smaller movements. Turns out I spoke too soon and the stretching is now back full force and is painful!

GTKY: Do you make any resolutions for the new year?  If so, what are you planning for this year? I don't do resolutions.

  • @taylor2020, find yourself a lactation consultant ahead of time and take a breastfeeding class. I also wish I had my OB or a lactation consultant look at my breasts ahead of time because I don’t have enough glandular tissue to produce enough milk for baby and if they had looked ahead of time then I may have been better prepared for the struggle we faced BFing.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 35 weeks today, EDD 2/7/20

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): Pineapple

Upcoming appointments: January 14th and then weekly until he comes! Can't believe this time is already here.

How are you feeling? I am overall ok. Just exhausted, large, sore, but trying to enjoy the last month of being pregnant ever. And enjoy every moment I feel of him on the inside.

Raves/Rants: The nursery is finally feeling pretty much complete. I just placed a huge Amazon order of all the little things I will need to get us through the first couple of months.

GTKY: Do you make any resolutions for the new year?  If so, what are you planning for this year? I don't do resolutions really.
  • @taylor2020 I second what @jvk2012 suggested. I didn't take any breastfeeding classes or speak to anyone beforehand and I wish that I had with my first. The lactation specialist supplied at the hospital was terrible. She was rough with me and the baby and ended up making me even feel less confident. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to breastfeed because my DD had issues latching and I ended up exclusively pumping, but I'm hoping to have more luck this time around. My other advice is to be kind to yourself...

    Feb 5

    Team: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): "moderately successful game of Jenga" (the what to expect app is so weird...)

Upcoming appointments: My appointments have been 2x weekly since the beginning of December due to my GD, but the next big one is my 36 week growth scan next week.

How are you feeling?: I'm going back and forth between excitement over meeting this little guy and the sadness with comes with knowing this is my last pregnancy.

Raves/Rants: Only a few more weeks of work left. I'm trying to work as long as I possible can. Assuming I make it to my induction date (which hasn't been scheduled just yet) I'll probably start maternity leave the day before. It's funny...I know that taking care of this newborn is going to be way harder and more demanding than my office job, but I'm still looking forward to the moment I can leave work stress behind me.

    Questions: Not this week.

GTKY: Do you make any resolutions for the new year?  If so, what are you planning for this year? I really want to get back in shape this year. I never got 100% back into shape after my first and my sister is getting married in the summer. I know it's silly and superficial, but it's been a really long time since I've been okay with getting my picture taken. I would love to be present and in the moment for her without worrying about what my arms look like, etc. I'm going to be gentle on myself, but I look forward to feeling more confident about my appearance.
