  • EDD/weeks+days:  Feb 20, 32w4d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): cantaloupe

    Upcoming appointments: 1/6 with OB

How are you feeling? tired and easily out of breath

Raves/Rants: Rants: DD is extra attached to me lately which makes me nervous for when I have to go to the hospital and the new baby is here if she is still in that phase.  Raves: Christmas was great and my ultrasound last week to monitor baby was great.  The 4D ultrasound photo they gave me took my breath away when I first saw it because it was so completely lifelike!

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you make any resolutions for the new year?  If so, what are you planning for this year? No I usually don't do anything.  Maybe this year I'll try to work on cultivating more patience because I'm sure I will be needing it.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 32w4d

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Pink. I hope. I keep rechecking the anatomy scan. Hahaha

Baby is the size of a(n): Squash

Upcoming appointments: This afternoon for a check up.

How are you feeling? Ok. I’ve regained a little energy so I’m thinking the cold I had over Christmas was really taking a toll on me. Movements in there are getting a little uncomfortable and I am just feeling super pregnant.

Raves/Rants: Rant: Back to work today. But Rave: I still don’t work a full week for the next 2 weeks.

Questions: Anyone who has had a RCS....did your OB do a final ultrasound to determine baby’s position before they do surgery? I am wondering if they’ll do another one. I got a surprise ultrasound at the end with DS bc they couldn’t 100% say he was head down- not that it really matters in a CS.

GTKY: Do you make any resolutions for the new year?  If so, what are you planning for this year? I was thinking about this last night. I just want to be more positive and not dwell on things I can’t control!

@jvk2012 do you think she’s being extra attached because she knows things are about to be different with the new baby? I feel like that happens. Somehow they know.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): butternut squash

    Upcoming appointments: Thursday midwife visit

How are you feeling? OK! I took my last abx this morning and still feel like the UTI is there so happy to have an appointment on Thursday.

Raves/Rants: Rave - came back to work after five days and emails are not bad! I am going to try to make it to the gym today. This morning DD said that "I am a woman" (she is 3) so I taught her to say "I am a woman, I am strong, hear me roar!" Very apropos given that she was wearing a batgirl outfit.

    Questions: meh.

GTKY: Do you make any resolutions for the new year?  If so, what are you planning for this year? My resolution is to use my planner as much as possible, and to develop some goals at some point. Honestly going from 1 to 2 is going to be a huge change and I want to stay flexible and see how being a mom of 2 goes before committing to anything big.

@ibabyloveb87 - i'm not sure about the ultrasound question, but I've noticed that some practices ultrasound a lot more than others! One thing I noticed last time - I also had ultrasounds at the end because she was breech, was that you can't really see the baby because they are so SMOOSHED in there.

@jvk2012 - I feel like DD has become a lot more clingy lately too. Very unlike her she is usually Ms. Independent. I got her a book called Billie B. Brown Big Sister and it talks a lot about having to spend the night with friends/family when parents go to the hospital, etc., and all the emotions the little girl felt about becoming a big sister and I think it's sunk into her a little bit. Especially since I told her baby was coming after Christmas now she thinks it's time :expressionless: oops.

  • @leksiL I’m sure it’s very dependent on your doctor. I guess I could ask them today 😆

  • @leksiL, I absolutely think part of the clinginess is due to baby coming. His room is emptied, there are tons of clothes being organized in there, etc. I also think part of it is that I have responded to her needs 98% of the time compared to H (done nearly all night wakings since she was tiny, etc) so she has become very attached. We already alternate who does bedtime so that’s not a fight but I think she is very used to me and so H and I are trying to work on that before the baby comes.
  • @jvk2012 - we have something very similar going on. We will be breastfeeding so I'll be doing baby's bedtime and that will be a huge change because right now we all do bedtime together. I suppose we can stagger bedtimes but it already takes SO LONG. Maybe we should alternate who does bedtime so she is used to only one of us doing it - that is a great idea, plus the other person can clean up from dinner.

  • @jvk2012 DS is obsessed with me because I’ve done 99% of everything for his entire 3 years. He never lets DH put him to bed unless I’m literally not home. It’s going to be interesting over here. At least you can put a baby in a safe spot and do things. Hopefully.

  • @TennisLove30, how much is expected for you to leave your maternity sub? In my district you don’t have to leave anything and it’s expected your grade level team will plan weekly with them. This time I’m not a classroom teacher but a math specialist so not even sure they are getting a sub for me.
  • @leksiL, we used to both do bedtime but about a month or two ago we started making it a one parent thing to prep her for when baby is here but also because I did 99% of it while H sat there and I wanted a break!
  • @jvk2012, I will leave day to day plans. I teach 8th grade English on my team. I honestly wouldn’t want anyone else to make my plans. I need my students to be ready to take the standardized test when I return in April. I’m also pretty controlling of my classroom. I have really great classroom management, and I’m a little worried that I will come back to chaos. 😬
  • @jvk2012 - we did the solo parent bedtime last night and I stayed downstairs and cleaned up after supper and it was honestly so nice! My DD has been a handful lately. I've started reading the Magic 1-2-3 solution to see if we want to try it but not sure how I feel about time-outs even if they are only 3 minutes long.

  • @leksiL, glad bedtime last night was good! This age, along with baby coming, has made DD quite challenging too.
  • @fallonpartyfor2 I’m so jealous. Looks great!!

  • @TennisLove30 @ibabyloveb87 Thanks guys!! Honestly the room looked like a garage sale waiting to happen until the walls were done and the rug was laid down... But it's basically assembled (save for the some small stuff)
  • EDD/weeks+days: 2/15, 33w 3 days,

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue 💙

Baby is the size of a(n): as tall as a child's tennis racket.

Upcoming appointments: Measuring ultrasound and OB on 1/2, and diabetic specialist on 1/3.

How are you feeling? Sore, out of breath, feeling more nudges rather than kicks and jabs.

Raves/Rants: Having a rough time, to be honest. Over the last several weeks I've cried at work nearly every day. I'm so overwhelmed. I know the stress isn't good for me or baby, and I'm just now gathering data to back it up. I've been tracking blood glucose after meals for about a week now. My numbers were fabulous over the weekend in a low stress environment - well below the threshold. Came back to work on Monday and failed every single blood glucose reading. Same diet. Just much higher stress. Feeling like I'm already failing this little guy!

Rave: MIL and SIL put together the nursery for me yesterday. I LOVE it!!

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you make any resolutions for the new year?  If so, what are you planning for this year? I'm not usually a resolution kind of gal, but with this enormous change coming, I know I need to make a conscious effort to 1) not be so hard on myself, 2) set boundaries with work/life balance, and 3) ask for help. All 3 are difficult for me today.
  • @malloryfrommn I’m so sorry about the GD troubles. Keep up the hard work! The nursery is adorable- I especially like the little stuffed deer head :) Can they come over and do mine?! 😂
