Re: December Symptoms

  • @heatherlynn321 do you have a rash with it? I had PUPPS last pregnancy and OT was no fun, but some chamomile helped

  • @mamaj1220 No rash, and it's constant itching all over my body.
  • Anyone else experiencing a terribly uncomfortable tight stomach after eating. It's a mix of too much food and gas.

I think this is going to be the new norm for the next few months.

  • @tj_2 me, alll day today! The bloat on top of the bump is incredibly uncomfortable.

  • @tj_2 I find my stomach is much bigger  after eating and breathing is a bit of a challenge def uncomfortable as well @drkoyya
  • @tj_2 definitely. and heartburn on top of it. I am glad to be past Christmas just so I can go back to eating more small and regular meals.
  • The heartburn is real for sure. I have been taking Pepcid daily as my doctor recommended but I freak myself out when I google medications.

I’m glad christmas is over too. I feel like it’s definitely made me add more pounds on top of the ones I was already gaining 😫. Any yummy healthy recipes anyone’s been using?
  • @ellie2020 my winning combo is one Pepcid an hour before dinner and 2 tums after dinner.  I did it for about a week and feel like things are under control now.  If lunch upsets me some then I will take a Pepcid that day before dinner so I don’t make it worse, but I def don’t need it every day anymore.
  • No heartburn, but definitely feeling overly full even after not eating that much. Bleh.
  • @tj_2 definitely. That's been the norm for me since like week 8. The top bump gets so big and hard, but no baby there!
  • I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this perspective. As a mama who was unable to breastfeed (my milk literally didn’t come in with my first), I spent the first three months of my son’s life with postpartum depression because breastfeeding didn’t work for me. I spent my pregnancy in breastfeeding classes and as a first time mama there was no “plan b” for me when it came to if I was going to breastfeed or not. But- like always- life had other plans for me. :) My son was formula fed, is 3.5 now, and is thriving and healthy. :) He’s so smart, already knows his letters and sounds, and I’m grateful for friends who supported our formula journey. I think it’s so critical for first time and non-first time moms to know that either route taken will be okay. <3
  • @lisush @tj_2 @drkoyya I have to join the "top bump" party. Where my real bump is is still mostly squishy but my top bump is like a balloon. ☹
  • My back and hips are a disaster. Already. I’m hurting so much and I’m only halfway. I’m going to see if the chiropractor can work some magic because moving and pregnancy are a particularly unfun combination.

  • This baby is so active. I feel him/her moving all the time and my bladder is already getting kicked pretty consistently. Also I am still having trouble with going to the bathroom so now if I get overfull it’s coming up.
  • I’ve had spotting on and off this whole pregnancy. So anxiety inducing. I’ve been checked many time’s. Baby is fine. It only ever last a day, like one incidence of pink/red then brown a few times. Never any cramping. No large amounts at all. I think I’ve had it 4-5x now. Including this morning. I haven’t been having sex cause it freaks me out too much to bleed. But a couple time’s the spotting was related to orgasm I think. And I had a vivid sex dream last night, wondering if that’s related? I can’t even have fun in my dreams! I have a midwife appt on the 31st and will chat about it then. I can feel him moving, so I’m sure things are ok. Anatomy scan was all wonderful. Just hate it!
  • @smashley09 Oh man, I'm so sorry, spotting is the worst! It makes me so anxious, I'm sorry you've had it so many times!
  • @Austenista I’m right there with you. It has me extremely nervous about the third trimester. I think it’s time to upgrade from the spandex belly band to the full support band.

  • @Austenista My back is sooooo bad already.  I threw it out at ~7 months last time because I'm tall and don't have a great back as it is, so it just can't take the extra load.  This time I'm not even 5 months, and I'm nervous about how these last 4 months are going to go.  I'm already in a back support band, and it sucks when I have a 35 lb toddler I occasionally have to lift.  I also have sciatica, and that hasn't been helping things either!

  • @drkoyya ob recommended that for me too. Hope it helps you!
@shamrocandroll oh yes, +1 to having to lift a 40lb toddler.

  • I’m thinking about trying to see the doctor today. I haven’t felt her much I know I’m only 22 weeks but I’m getting into my own head a bit. I wonder if they will see me or not on NYE since it’s not really an emergency.
  • @babyfoxden10 I think it’s worth a call, I always think it’s better to call when you’re concerned. Hopefully they can get you in or reassure you everything’s good ❤️
  • @babyfoxden10 it's good that you got some needed reassurance today!  I hope you can relax now.  Last ultrasound my baby was using the placenta like a pillow!  They just nestle themselves in there however they can.
  • @pirateduck @randic22 The only thing that I've found to help my head aches is going to the chiropractor.

@ellie2020 my midwife recommend taking apple cider vinegar to help with heart burn. I haven't gotten any heart burn so I can't speak to if it actually works or not.
