@babyroma I haven’t preregistered yet, so I’ll be interested to see responses. I will say that I attended the first of two childbirth classes offered by our hospital last week and feel like I would’ve done just as well to read the booklet they handed out rather than spend the 3 hours there. We actually left before it was over because it was 830pm and we were both exhausted and not feeling like it was worth sticking around. I was glad for the breastfeeding class and am returning for the second one this week. But I couldn’t get into some of the newborn safety/ infant care classes until January. So good or bad, we’re about on the same track! I sorta get the sense that whether we get in all the classes or not, we’ll be okay 😊
@babyroma, I can’t remember when I pre-registered last time but I also remember there still was a lot of paperwork to do when I arrived at the hospital. I was being induced so I wasn’t in labor but I remember thinking: Why did I even pre-register and how would I do this while in lots of pain??
@babyroma I filled out and sent off the paperwork this weekend. They like us to do it at 30 weeks since our hospital has a level 2 NICU and so if you go into labor at 32 weeks or later you can stay at the hospital and not be transferred.
@babyroma I’ve been pre-registered since beginning of second trimester. That’s when they gave me the paperwork. But I could call registration and do it over he phone so I did that instead.
@babyroma I had a similar experience to @jvk2012. I was also being induced so no rush, but what’s the point if yo still have to sit there and fill stuff out? But then again, I don’t know what the process is like if you don’t pre-register. I also don’t remember when I did it. Probably around now.
I wonder if I’ll do all that at my pre-op appointments. Hmmmm

Everyone keeps telling me they think I’m going to go early. And I kind of think so too. This stresses me out. Ha
Also....I had a bunch of pressure/cramp feeling for a while Saturday night. I asked the nurse about it and she said since it went away after I ate some ice cream it was probably positional. But she said if it happens again and lasts longer than an hour, not going away after changing position, eating or drinking, that I should go to the ER. 😬 I never had BH or early contractions with my first, so this is new to me!!

Sorry to read the bad maternity leave news- we desperately need a leave overhaul in this country.
@babyroma We don't pre-register but just completed the refresher birthing class this weekend and have all the paperwork finished. They're basically just checking in on us every 2 weeks and we're on the radar for the on-call midwives. If it's earlier than 37weeks they'd accompany us to the sister hospital, but it's crazy thinking we are all going to go so soon! I bet it'll feel even sooner because the holidays will speed things along.
Thanks @leksiL and @craftywitch I am feeling better and back at work today! Saturday night was...violent. Yesterday was still feeling icky but managed to drink pedialyte and eat a few nibbles of plain foods.
I finally found a baby book I liked enough to order! It wasn't cheap but I'm really excited about it! I ordered it from Polka Dot Print Shop! It's so cute and I also reminded myself of a photo printing service I used to use called SocialPrint Studio that I'm planning to use for the photos in it. And now I'm all giddy with excitement and can't wait to start filling it out!
Failed the 3 hour glucose test! 😭 Had to chase them for the results- never got an answer back. Thankfully I have an appointment with my OB on Thursday, because I haven't been told much of anything except that I failed, and that I need to take a class next week - on Christmas Eve!! So. Many. Questions.
@malloryfrommn Oh no so sorry to hear that! I'm sure they'll be able to tell you what you need to do based on the results at that next appointment. Fingers crossed some nutrition swaps will be enough.

@Lanie1001 - try not to worry too much late ultrasounds can be off significantly for weight! Here is a good article about it - https://evidencebasedbirth.com/evidence-for-induction-or-c-section-for-big-baby/ I'm not having any post-anatomy scan ultrasounds myself.
@daffodil_shoe - are you feeling better? I hope so!
