Hey Ladies!

This is my third pregnancy after two losses this past year (one in late October 2018 and one in May 2019).

I did not have any morning sickness with the other two pregnancies, but now that I am 6.6, I am having pretty severe sickness daily.

A lot of you probably have been googling EVERYTHING too, but I have read several sources that say that morning sickness is a good sign of a healthy pregnancy.

Obviously I’m doubtful after so much disappointment and pain, but I’d like to be hopeful. Anyone else have experience with this? How are your pregnancies going so far!?

  • @amb0524 I always feel like morning sickness is a good sign--but try to stay off google as much as possible.  It always makes me nervous when I get lost down that rabbit hole.

This is my 6th pregnancy--CP, DS1, MC, DS2, MC, and our hopefully 3rd child. I am 6w5d and morning sickness is off and on. It makes me nervous--as my first appointment isnt until next week.  I have had multiple beta checks and my numbers are doubling. Fingers crossed!

  • I’m 6w today, and feeling super nervous since with my mc a couple weeks ago I started spotting at 6w1d. I was feeling no symptoms then and this time have been pretty exhausted with some nausea so it feels pretty different, but I’m still mentally freaking out.

I wasn’t really that upset about my mc (have two kids already, it happened super early, etc.) until now! I’ve been avoiding an early dating scan they want me to do because it would cost me like $300 and I don’t feel like it’s necessary. But now I’m kind of considering it, because waiting another two weeks for my first midwife appointment is going to be tough. 😕
  • I’m 8w4 days and despite having no reason to worry (7w U/S was perfect), I still wish I could have another U/S asap to just confirm everything is A-OK. I have another appt coming up on Dec 11 but I’m not sure if I’ll have another U/S then and I’ll only be 9w4 then so a Doppler would probably be a crapshoot on picking up a heartbeat. Sigh. I’m trying to just relax but after two prior losses, it’s hard.

@amb0524, I don’t have a lot of nausea. I’d feel reassured if I did because morning sickness is a good sign. I have tender (and bigger) breasts, some heartburn, fatigue, and occasional stretching aches in my abdomen but I haven’t been too sick (other than this damn cold). I have some apathy towards food in general, but that’s pretty much it. I just don’t feel pregnant really, and that adds to the PGAL madness.

Best of luck to everyone dealing with the same anxieties. I know y’all understand. 😁
  • Hi,
I'm 10 weeks.  I've had 2 us for this pregnancy.  My loss was in July for our 2nd FET.  I'm past where I was in that pregnancy but not feeling less anxious yet.

Saturday is my last day with PIO injections et al.  I have mixed feelings about that because maybe they are giving me reassurance? However, my poor hips can use the break from the shots.

My first Ob appointment is 12/16.  I'm very anxious to wait that long (will be 4 weeks since last RE).  I guess this is what normal pregnancy is supposed to feel like.

    Glad we have this group.
  • I am 9 weeks 2 days. I had two losses in a row (2012 &2013). My losses seemed to be due to hormonal issues. I have 1 child after medication to regulate hormones prior to pregnancy and then going on progesterone for the 1st trimester. So far that protocall is working well for this pregnancy.

I had my 1st us last week and everything looked good. I am currently feeling fatigue, heartburn and some nausea. My next appointment is just after Christmas. I hope to hear a strong heartbeat then on the doppler.

  • So sorry for everyone’s losses! Glad to read things seem to be going pretty well for everyone this time thus far!

Today I am 6 weeks 1 day and today is my last loss milestone, so I am feeling pretty good. I’ve had 5 early losses and 2 healthy children all through ivf. I have my first ultrasound on Wednesday and it can’t come soon enough! I am not as sick as I was with my boys, but I was very sick with them and not at all with the losses so I’m hopeful this nauseous in the morning and when I’m hungry is a good sign.

I think my anxiety will be much better once I get to see this peanut. Good luck to everyone!!!
  • @mhaack92 congrats on getting through your milestones!! I’m also 6w1d (I think), and this is the point I started spotting last time around, so I’m super anxious today.

I’ve also been anxious about not having much morning sickness, but honestly don’t really remember how bad it was with my successful pregnancies. When I think about it logically, I realize that 6 weeks is when things just first start feeling off, and if I don’t feel super sick it’s not that different so far.
  • On the anxiety, I keep trying to remind myself that my Mom swears she was never sick in either of her pregnancies.
  • Hi Ladies,

So sorry to hear of all of your losses.

I haven’t even introduced myself in the main thread since I’m so worried I might not be on here much longer.  I am 6 weeks and 4 days today and this is my fifth pregnancy in the last two years.  The last four have all ended in losses.  I’ve also had a failed round of IVF during that time and was diagnosed with poor egg quality.  I am 36 and, while I know that ain’t exactly young, I was shocked to find out that my eggs had “gone bad” already.

I have one 4 year old son and my husband and I have been trying for years to have another child.  So far in this pregnancy, all my bloodwork has been great and I had a dating scan at 5 weeks that showed a yolk sac.  My next ultrasound is not until Tuesday the 10th and I’m going out of my mind with worry.  With my son, I didn’t have any morning sickness or many symptoms at all so I’m hoping that my lack of symptoms now aren’t a bad sign.  I’m so terrified of walking into my appointment on Tuesday and finding out, yet again, that it isn’t viable.

Wishing for healthy pregnancies for all of you!
  • Super anxious for my ultrasound tomorrow - come on heartbeat(s)!
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • @kboydbowman good luck today!! Hope you see a perfect growing baby!
  • @kboydbowman do you think it might be twins??
  • @Pascal86, I have looked 5 months pregnant since week 5 (and it ain't bloat - I look closer to 7 months when I'm bloated!), I'm 41, and I took fertility drugs, so I think there's a pretty good chance.  The photos below are from week 7and 8.

  • @kboydbowman oh man, that’s exciting! Can’t wait to hear what you find out!
  • Hope your appointment went well today @kboydbowman! Update us when you can!
  • It didn't.  I posted in the ultrasound thread, but only measuring 7w1d and no fetal pole.  They did a beta today, another on Sunday, follow-up ultrasound in a week, but I'm not optimistic.

  • @kboydbowman  thinking of you, hope you get some clarity soon. I know it’s so stressful to wait for the next ultrasound.
  • @kboydbowman I am so sorry you are going through this.  I know this will be a seriously difficult week.  We women are amazingly strong with what we can handle.  No matter what the outcome, you will get through this.
  • @kboydbowman oh I’m so sorry to hear :( keeping my fingers crossed for you.
  • Friday's beta was 100,000.  Today's was 109,000.  So I still don't know where I am until the next ultrasound (Friday).

  • @kboydbowman Sorry, for the anxious wait.  I think all the waiting with potentially hard news to hear is the cruelest part of this process.
  • @kboydbowman sorry you’re going through this. The not knowing must be awful. Hoping you get clarity soon.
  • I have my ultrasound appointment tomorrow morning.  At 7 weeks + 2 days, the doctor confirmed that they should definitely be able to detect a heartbeat if there is one.  I had a dating scan at 5 weeks so, if there is no heartbeat, I think it will be conclusive that this isn’t a variable pregnancy (since it will be clear I couldn’t just be off on my dates).  I have never been so nervous about anything in my life.  After 4 previous miscarriages, I am having such a hard time believing everything might be ok.
  • @mischief-managed best of luck to you tomorrow morning! Please keep us posted. Was there reason to worry at your 5 week scan? Wishing you the very best appointment!
  • @modoodles At the 5 week scan there was a yolk sac (which was exactly what was supposed to be there).  My HCG also was doubling just like it should have in the beginning so all signs point to everything being fine.  I think I just have PTSD from all of the losses.
  • @mischief-managed Good luck today.  I am in a very similar situation--ultrasound this afternoon.  I am so worried anxious.  Sending you positive thoughts today--keep us updated! Hopefully, we both have good news today!
  • @magnolia305 I’ll be thinking of you and sending you positive vibes.
  • @mischief-managed Congrats on that moment!  Very little beats it.
  • @mischief-managed yay for a good ultrasound!! Seeing a good heartbeat is soo reassuring!

I have my first ultrasound tomorrow. I’m feeling cautiously optimistic, but still very nervous. Fingers crossed it goes well!
  • @mischief-managed such a wonderful feeling! Yay for a great US!
  • @mhaack92  fingers crossed for you!!!
  • We saw our sweet baby yesterday! They moved my due date back a week--so July 31st.  Heartrate was 125, which my doctor said was right on target.  I am thankful my OB let's me come back every two weeks during first tri to ease my anxiety! Thanks for the positive vibes @mischief-managed! I am so very happy for your great ultrasound!!
  • Congrats @magnolia305, super exciting to see a strong little heartbeat!
  • @magnolia305 Yay!  I was hoping you would be sharing great news.  I’m so happy for you.  I get to go in every 2 weeks also.  I know I’ll be a little nervous before my next one but nothing like it was with this one.  Hearing that heartbeat was just the best!

@mhaack92 Let us know how your ultrasound goes.  I’m thinking of you!
  • @magnolia305 awesome news! Congrats on a good ultrasound.
  • I had my first ultrasound today. It went well, saw strong heartbeat. My RE said everything was looking good, but I was measuring 8w3d and I’m only 7w (ivf pregnancy so the date is for sure). Is that too far ahead? I know that seems crazy to worry about especially since my dr said it was fine, but I can’t help it!
  • @mhaack92 I feel dumb but can you just have a speedy grower? I have no clue how that stuff works but congrats on a great US! I say if the doc isn’t worried, you shouldn’t be either (soooooo much easier said than done).
