  • EDD/Weeks + Days: June 24th 8 weeks and 1 day

    How old is/are your other kid(s)? 3.5

How is/are your kiddo(s) doing? Actually today was the first hard day in a long time. Work has been busier than ever for DH and I and he really seems to be struggling with it. It breaks my heart into a million pieces but I try to remember this is just a season of life and we love him so much and he knows that!

Any questions/concerns? How do you plan to include your toddler to avoid jealousy. He is our entire world right now and I just don’t see this all being easy for him. Sharing, especially sharing mom sends him into a panic. I can’t even hold other babies

How did/will you tell your LO(s) about the baby?  We took him to our first ultrasound and he got his very own picture of his sibling!

Ibuprofen is the generic name, Advil and Motrin are brand names of Ibuprofen. Same medicine. The infant/baby formula is just more concentrated than the children’s.

  • @diagonalley Tylenol and ibuprofen are very different in my experience. You can't use ibuprofen until 6 months but Tylenol does nothing for ds.

@runwmusic I know Tylenol is not the same as ibuprofen - my son who had a kidney disease is not allowed to take Ibuprofen - but that includes Motrin and Advil, which is why I mentioned aren't Motrin and Advil essentially the same thing?  @bgdwg said she gives her baby baby Advil - which generally speaking you are supposed to wait until they are 6 months old to give to them.  Maybe her doctor advised her otherwise...I don't know.  That was why I mentioned it :)

How old is/are your other kid(s)? 3yo, 1yo (both boys born in June)

How is/are your kiddo(s) doing? They're so awesome right now. 3yo should be in kindergarten but can't go because they have 5th disease right now so we're all home all the time. The kids decide they want to play all the time, so they go to the living room shut the door and just play, happily for long stretches. Sure it's a mess when they emerge but it's the kiddie room meant for that (okay our entire place is theirs :D). And even if I did join them it'd be just as messy ;-)

Any questions/concerns? Yes! How are you guys meeting up with exercise? Sometimes I think running around behind the other two is enough, but then I feel like I should do more. I gained a lot of weight each pregnancy so far and always aim to gain less :D

How did/will you tell your LO(s) about the baby?  I'm going to get a nipt test next week. I'll take both and 3yo will see baby and he'll get it. He's been *begging* for a sister for at least half a year so he'll be excited. 1yo we used board books from Rachel Fuller for 3yo so we'll do the same. They love playing with each other so I think it worked well
  • We're similar with not living near family. My mom always came to stay with us a bit before the due date... I went into labor both times right after she arrived. The first one we only lived a few states apart but now and for the second one, we live in Europe and she lives in the US... So she arrived after her long flight and that night I went to wake her up and put her on baby duty :D

All four of us currently sleep in our bed and when baby comes all five of us will. It really helped us with jealousy and we love it because all of us sleep all night long and there's nothing better than that ;-)

How old is/are your other kid(s)? DD is turning 2 at the end of this month.
How is/are your kiddo(s) doing? Great! I can’t remember if I said this in last month’s thread, but hubs converted the crib to a toddler bed and that has gotten her back to consistently sleeping through the night. She has not slept in the bed AT ALL, every night she falls asleep on the floor next to it. And every night I fall asleep next to her while doing her bedtime routine (3 books followed by lullabies) because I’m so tired! It’s getting to the point where I fall asleep in the middle of the first or second song, and once last week I couldn’t even make it through the books!

Any questions/concerns? What do I do when my belly gets so big that DD won’t be able to sit on my lap and snuggle?

How did/will you tell your LO(s) about the baby? We have talked about it a little but I’m not sure she gets it. We are making sure she spends time with our friend’s newborn pretty often so she gets used to the idea of babies younger than herself, and once we get further along we will read books on the topic.
To big to snuggle on lap won't happen. Mine was able to snuggle no matter how huge I got.
  • @yesimpeeingagain how do you fit 5 people in one bed????  Ds is 4 and still ends up in our bed most nights and I'm worried about how this is going to work with a newborn. We co slept from day 1 with him and I will probably co sleep with this one too just trying to figure out the logistics of that.
  • @yesimpeeingagain where do you live in Europe? I‘m in the UK 😊

  • @ReneeJ2011 so right now we have our bed against the wall and 1yo sleeps against the wall. Then me, then 3yo, then Papa. Some plans for 5 people in the bed will be: newborn against the wall (always for safety) with me next to newborn. Then we might put both older kids between the parents in the middle. Or we might buy a bed for our 3yo and put it directly next to our bed (same height) and add a guard so he won't roll out (an Ikea trip has been planned, but we're not set on this yet). In the second case, 1yo would move to middle between parents.

@hayhay2501 I'm in Austria - tyrol region. Where are you in the UK? ... Okay so I've only ever been to London :D
  • @yesimpeeingagain I’m in London! Austria is one of the European countries I haven’t been to- it looks beautiful though!

  • @hayhay2501 my phone is not cooperating to upload a profile Foto, so here is my planned profile picture ... Walk today with the kids...
  • Not exactly a 2nd time mom but hopefully you all don't mind me posting here. 😂

    EDD/Weeks + Days: June 29th, 10 weeks 1 day

    How old is/are your other kid(s)? 5, 4, 2, and 1.

How is/are your kiddo(s) doing? They're doing great!

    Any questions/concerns? Nope!

How did/will you tell your LO(s) about the baby?  We just said mommy's having another baby and left it at that. The little ones don't really understand of course but my 5 year old is just really hoping it's a girl. 😂
