Genetic Bloodwork Profile-Panorama

Is anyone "older " (I am 39, due 6/15/20) having the genetic bloodwork done( Panorama)?  If so when? I am scheduled for 12 weeks, Nov.26th and then go in for my 2nd ultrasound and the results of the labs. Are you nervous about this test? For me, I can't stop worrying about it!! How old are some of you June 2020 mommies to be?

Re: Genetic Bloodwork Profile-Panorama

  • @ambosb if you scroll down, there’s a thread called “AMA Mamas Over Here!”  (AMA=advanced maternal age)...a lot of mamas have replied and I bet you could ask this in that thread.

  • I just had the Panorama test done on the 12th and am impatiently awaiting the results.  I will be 35 when I deliver and had a missed mc 4 years ago, so my doc highly suggested it. I was incredibly nervous to have it done after I saw the phlebotomist bust out 11 vials to draw. It was quick and virtually painless, thank goodness.

  • Hello,

I'm currently 38 and my due date is 6/8/20, 5 days after my 39th Birthday.  I have been referred to a Fetal Medicine Specialist which I will see on 12/3. I have to speak with a genetic counselor on 11/25 prior to my appoint. I'm still planning on getting the NIPT test done. But I'll keep you all updated on the consultation.

  • I’m 31, but my insurance still covers it so I’m doing it as well. We did it with our first as well, I felt it eased a lot of my fears knowing that the chances of baby having so many different abnormalities was so low. I was nervous while waiting for the results, but my OB/GYN got results back really quickly.
  • Hi, I’m 37 and will be almost 38 - or possible 38 if I’m late when I give birth. I had the harmony blood test on 11/22 and should get the results in around 10 days. I also did the NT ultrasound the same day (at exactly 12 weeks).  The technician said everything was measuring perfectly! She told me before she would measure several times to makes sure the measurements were accurate and not to worry about that. After the ultrasound I felt so much better. I even saw the baby moving and heard the heartbeat!
  • I have my appointment for my nipt test on Thursday. I'm still under 30, and will barely be at my due date, but I had the test done for my first two (my first because that's all the office I was at offered, and then I continued doing it last and this time because it gave me so much comfort) . So I'm excited to get it done and have appointment to hopefully see that baby is all good on us. Right at 12 weeks and that will ease my mind a lot. Hope everyone's results are perfect!!
  • My insurance did not cover the Panorama test since I am not quite AMA (will be 34 when baby is born), but the cash-option price was $249 and was payable online.

  • I should note when I was living in the US and had the panorama test done I was a teacher and with that salery I qualified for their compassionate Care program which changed the amount I had to pay from something like 800$ to more like 120$.... If you have to pay out of pocket, I'd definitely call the company and ask about it... I had to ask not very pushy, but also not super push over. They definitely didn't tell me about the program
  • To echo @yesimpeeingagain - this information is listed on their website now (I don't think it was as accessible when I had the test done in 2017): https://www.natera.com/panorama-test/pricing-billing
Compassionate Care pricing can be $0, $99 or $149 if you qualify.

  • I got my results by phone call 6 days after I took the test. They came back as all low risk. 1 in 10,000 which they said was the best you could get.  I wasn’t really worried since the NT ultrasound all measured perfectly. They also found out the gender. But I told them not to tell me. To put it in an envelope and I’ll pick it up at my next apt so I can see the results the same time as my husband. Maybe we will do something cute to find out.
  • Just got our results as well. All good news, low risk across the board! So I'm super happy. We also found out number 3 will be a boy (1&2 are also boys) :D it's gonna get crazy in our house in a few years!
  • Just turned 41 here. Had my NIPT done on Tuesday. Mine was progenity tho.
  • NIPT results came in yesterday - everything cam back negative, and we will have our first boy! I can't imagine not having this information right now!
  • Mailed in my Panorama on Thursday.  Now I (im)patiently wait.  Hoping to hear something this week and then we tell the older kids.
