DH and I met teaching flying trapeze at a circus camp. Yes-we are that weird.
We have known each other for 16ish years. We just passed the point where I have known him for half his life.

DH and I met working together. We both teach math. Some of our classes also have tutors to help in the classroom and I was the tutor for his class. We were friends for awhile first. We both actually casually saw other friends of ours first before deciding to date each other.

We are college sweethearts. I met DH in 2004 on my very first day of University. My Dad and I had just pulled up to the dorm making the long drive from Boston to Nova Scotia. We were walking towards the building and DH was coming around the corner from football practice. He held the door open for us and followed us up to my floor. He actually lived in the room across from me. Two days later (after my Dad had begged me to stay clear of any football players) he knocked on my door and asked me out. We went on a little date to grab pizza and a few weeks later we started dating exclusively. We've been together 15 years and married for 9.5.

DH and I also met at work. He was an underwriter and I was in new business. They assigned me as his new business processor. One day he asked me if I wanted to get a coffee. We immediately became best friends and he makes my cynical heart believe in soulmates.

DH and I met through a mutual friend who had invited a bunch of his friends out to a bar/restaurant for their taco night. We bonded over a love of Galaga and retro games and then started meeting up for the taco nights just me and him and playing Galaga on their arcade machine. We moved across the country to Seattle 6 months later and were engaged another 2 months after that. We've been married for 5 years now.

DH and I met online. I was just getting out of a long and bad relationship, so I wasn’t really ready to date, just kind of seeing what was out there. We had a very high match percentage and his profile popped up right away. He seemed perfect. He was working as a private math tutor to pay his way through college (he’s a teacher now and went to college a bit later in life). He had 2 dogs, which meant he’d accept my 3. He sent me a message even though I didn’t have a picture up, so I basically had to decide between potentially not meeting a good match and maybe jumping in a little earlier than I wanted. I jumped in. We talked through the online dating app for a week or two and then met for lunch. I feel like we both just knew it was right way faster than we should have.

ETA: We moved in together pretty quick and got engaged in about 6 months.

DH and I met at the food truck that he owned and operated (he has since moved on to straight catering). He made me an organic gyro and I gave him my number. We were together every weekend from then on. It was a second marriage for both of us and we're both in our mid-30s so we didn't want to waste much time. Within two years we were married with a baby on the way.

@mercury94 Our story is similar! Got out of a long relationship, moved to the boonies, and I was using Internet dating for casual flings. DH messaged me and we went out, there was clearly something there but I kept denying it because I wanted to enjoy single life. 6 months later we were engaged...

@mercury94 we had both gone to the camp as kids, and he worked there forever. I actually joined the circus at college (Gamma Phi Circus-look for it in the Macy's thanksgiving parade) so during summers I started working there. We worked together 2 yrs before deciding to date. His sister was actually our boss.
Work love- always interesting.

The hubby and I met through a work event. He was a college basketball coach, and we hired the team as event staff. I gave him my number for use during the event. He was new to town, so my good friend convinced me to invite him to the after party. He showed up early, we flirted throughout the evening, and we went on our first (is this or isn’t this a) date the following Saturday. We knew we were a match pretty quickly, and we were married around a year later. We’ve been together over five years now.

We met at my best friend’s wedding, where I was a bridesmaid in January 2013. My DH is my best friend’s cousin and his whole family was trying to hook us up. I grew up with some of his cousins, but never met him. The plot worked and we hit it off at the wedding, but he lived in DC and I lived in Maine. He wanted to see me when he came home to Maine in March, so he got my number. We ended up talking or texting everyday and he decided he wanted to fly back to Maine two weeks after we met instead of waiting until March. We started dating long distantly traveling between Maine and Washington DC until I was offered a job down there in April. It was a quick turn around and I was freaking out about moving so far after dating so briefly, but went through with it. We continued dating and things worked out! Today is our 3 year wedding anniversary!

We met on Tinder, and our first date was 7 hours straight of just talking and talking. We even went to a 24 hour grocery store so we could keep hanging out when everything else had closed. It was -40 that night and we still went on a walk just to keep the company. I was 6 months out from losing my Dad to cancer and meeting and then dating my DH was like the breath of air I needed back in my life. He helped me come back into myself and made me feel proud of characteristics that in previous relationships I felt I needed to edit. It'll be 4 years since that date in January, and we just got married in May, but from the get go it felt like I'd known him for longer. Needless to say I'm a big fan.

My bestie and her boyfriend got married after being together for 8 years (they met freshman year of college and waited until a couple years out of college to get married). My friend had me walk down the aisle with my (now) DH. Apparently over the years she had told him if she were to ever hook him up with one of her friends it would be me - but I lived 4 hours away and he was always kind of “meh” about that. I always told her I didn’t want to be set up. We sat next to each other at the dinner after the wedding and talked for awhile and he was asking my best friend about me. At the reception the next day (they had a super small wedding on a Friday night with dinner after and then a big reception the next day on Sat) we ended up having what we now call our first date, dancing, drinking and hanging out with all our friends. I’m so glad we met when we did cause if we had met earlier I don’t think the timing would have been right. We dated long distance for 9 months and then I moved in with him and we’ve been together for 10, married 8. It’s pretty cool since I’ve known my best friend since I was 5 and my DH and her DH have known each other since kindergarten too.

My story is kind of similar. I stopped dating guys for over a year because I was dating stereotypical college frat boys who only wanted one thing. After focusing on myself for 18 months my friends convinced me to date guys online so I can practice flirting again before moving away to grad school. Then I met my husband and we clicked. Which neither one of us were expecting Our first date was actually 3 days in one (laser tag, bowling, and movies).

We continued to date long distance while I was in grad school. We’ve been together for 6 years (3 years long distance), married for 1.

We met on Facebook in a group. Lol. I inboxed him first and started flirting. Ultimately we became best friends (long distance) and we talked almost every day for 2 years. He came to visit me for my 30th birthday and asked me to be his girlfriend. We stuck out the distance for 9 months before he decided to move in with me. A few weeks after he moved in, I got pregnant with our first baby (who’s now 15 months). Currently 14 weeks with our second.
