@mvt2003 omg but that's sooooo cute though!!!!

I have an itching to make a craft so badly!! I really want to make a wine cork wreath, but I'm still waiting for our cork pile to fill up again.

I also have to make cupcakes for my great uncle's 90th surprise party on Saturday and I'm not sure what to make... I love baking and it's been a while, so I want it to be something good! Thoughts? Something that would be good for kids but also the adults! Champagne cupcakes are my FAVORITE to make, but I don't usually make them for children

I love Cake by Courtney's recipes https://cakebycourtney.com/ She has a great instagram with fun cake videos! (Also, she has a Tip Tuesday about how to turn her cakes into cupcakes full of great ideas!)

I've personally made both her biscoff and churro cakes and both have gotten rave reviews!

@mvt2003 mmmm a churro cake sounds incredible!!! I think I'm going to make vanilla cupcakes, with a sprinkle surprise center, and strawberry buttercream icing!

Also - the amount of wine we drink is insane... I'll have enough corks in no time!

@kpearse99 I feel like a ton of wines are screw tops now, so my wine cork collecting has slowed down!

@kpearse99 sallysbakingaddiction.com has amazing recipes! The vanilla buttercream frosting is amazing. Her blog is my go-to when I need baked goods. I think I am going to attempt the chocolate mousse cake for Christmas dessert this year!

@inthewoods23 that alien costume is incredible! I envy anyone with the time and talent to make stuff like that!

@emeraldduchess I’ve got to start using up what I have at home 😬 I’ll probably start an “orphan skein” Afghan this fall or winter. If MH ever figures out how much I actually own that will be the end of yarn purchases for me for a while 😂

I haven’t been feeling too well and have a sore throat so thought I would make me and DH some homemade chicken noodle soup and bread and butter for dinner tonight.... it’s just what I needed. 🍲

I had to get up crazy early for my Peapod delivery, so I got it in the crockpot at 6am (the roast was still frozen, it hadn't defrosted enough so I was panicked!), and it was fall-apart delicious by 4pm. We ate it with green beans because keto life, but it would have been amazing with mashed potatoes! Also, I added 2 tbsp of the pepperoncini brine and it was perfect!

@mindyb2019 did you use a specific recipe for your chicken noddle soup? All of the recipes I come across have flavor. I heard that Panera has good chicken noddle soup. I should try looking up a copy cat recipe.

@blackgirlmagic no I don’t use a specific recipe. I just use it from my head and make it from scratch and add from their till it’s to my liking. What’s Panera? Never heard of that.

@emeraldduchess I have had such a craving to buy yarn recently! I need to finish the project from 2 years ago first though!

We went to an Oktoberfest celebration this weekend and I made apple strudel from the fresh apples we just got at the orchard. It was my first strudel, and I was nervous it would be too heavy or hard. But I think it turned out delicious! Should have taken a pretty picture once I plated it though!

@ramzlau that strudel looks awesome!

I am thinking about making this scarf but I've never worked with lace weight silk yarn before. Am I in for a world of frustration here?

@emeraldduchess Ooooooh that's so pretty!!!!! In my opinion, it will probably be a bit easier than you might expect (because that lace pattern looks fairly low-key), it will just take quite a while because the yarn is so thin. It will also not look like anything until you block it, which adds both to the nerves of knitting it but also the satisfaction once it's complete!

We've decided to go to the New England Fiber Festival in a couple of weeks, I'm also feeling the itch for a lacy shawl, so I might be joining you in lace making this winter!!!!

@mvt2003 I have never blocked any of my knitting, let alone something made with silk. Not even sure I have the space or proper tools! 😳 Most of what I make is simple scarves, hats, and blankets that don't need it.

@emeraldduchess I love blocking - it's almost magical! I actually need a new set of blocking mats, because I had been using the mats we bought and hadn't used for our home gym floor, but then MH took them back and is using them as a gym floor so I'm out of luck! I steam block and it's super easy! I know some people pin the work to their beds to let it dry, but I just can't get behind that practice! I want NOTHING wet on my mattress EVER.

I have a sickness and it's called having too many projects going at once. I'm working on a crocheted shawl for myself, the cross stitch for my SiL for Christmas, always working on squares for the aran knit afghan, I have a crocheted afghan I've been working on since last winter that I put away for the summer because it's too hot for the summer, I have 2 knit blankets going currently with no recipients in mind, AND I just cast on the second sock for a pair I've been working on from stash yarn last night.

I realized I have a fair amount of medical appointments coming up and all of my projects are too large to carry around or too fiddly to stop in the middle of a row, so OF COURSE I need a sock to work on, right?! Someone stop me from starting a sweater please!
