@FyreFlyeRush This is why I am determined for my dd not to be raised like I was without TV until she is 18. I never get pop culture references (I am old enough) because I am missing 20 years. My dh and I spend most of our time catching up on everything I missed. I discovered I LOVE Star Trek just 5 years ago. Now, ask me about any book and I can tell you about it.
@ponyoisfun, The line is in reference to a movie called The Sandlot. It's a definite coming of age classic. You should watch it, and add it to the list of movies to introduce to your kids (Sandlot is probably 10+). I'm sure there's plenty of movies we can come up with for you to watch! Given your screen name, you've probably already found Studio Ghibli, Spirited Away is my favorite of those.
Just felt a kick at the top of my stomach, like literally 2 inches below my bra strap. I didn't think my uterus was supposed to be this high! So then I used my very medically accurate "tape measure" (aka a piece of paper and a ruler), and measured from my pubic bone to where I felt the kick, and it was right at 23.1 cm. 🤷
@marebear15, it's been throwing me off when I feel them so high. I've taken to feeling where my fundus is during contractions... Almost 2" above my naval!
@c1kc1kpol1cn1k - I have an appointment today, so I'm going to see how accurate I was! Last time at 20 weeks, I was measuring 19 cm, so 23 cm seems about right.
OK so this morning I'm at my desk and I go to grab my mug so I can make a coffee..little do I know I forgot to empty it out yesterday and threw half a cup of cold coffee all over myself hahahah! I am now wearing my jean jacket buttoned up and bursting with a bra underneath, my leggings didn't get too wet
After much discussion with MH, I will be voluntarily taking myself off the road in the next few weeks which also means quitting my job earlier than planned. I'm a little bummed but we just aren't financially prepared for a new car right now. The plan was to save for a few years and get the SUV I really want. Not scramble at the last minute and find something I'm not thrilled with just so I can work for a couple months longer. Happy to be quitting in general but bummed about losing pay earlier than planned 😐
@peppyj9 I totally understand about the new car thing. We are in the same boat trying to save for a new car that will suit our needs better. I know you live in the Seattle area. Could you carpool or take transit to work part time so that you could work later?

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k that really sucks! It reminds me of the time in undergrad where I spilled radioactive wash solution on my pants (yes I was wearing a lab coat) and had my pants taken away in the lab. Luckily someone had some shorts I could wear or else I would be going home in a lab coat. Now I always keep extra clothes in my office!
I found out this morning that I can no longer close my coat. I know for some of you that seems like blasphemy since it is still warm out. But for some reason here in Oregon we decided to get cold fast and have had some truly chilly mornings around 4C (40F). The worse part will be when the rains come. I don't like umbrellas and now I'm just whining!
@biolprof My mom actually bought me a maternity winter coat that turns into a non-maternity coat afterwards by way of a zipper pannel. She also bought the baby wearer attachment too so baby will be bundled snuggly in the coat as well without being squished. I'll take a pic of the brand for you when I get home!
@stashattack I have heard of them but forget the brand. I'm just not sure I want to shell out more money but then again I could still wear it after the baby is born. Maybe an early Xmas present for me or something...
@biolprof I'm actually about 1.5 hours south of Seattle and our house is super rural and off the beaten path. (MH "needed" land so we're out in the sticks) and MH's schedule is longer than mine (I only work 27 hours a week) so in order for him to take me I'd have to sit around doing nothing for 4 hours until my shift starts. I don't get paid enough to waste my time like that lol. It's really not a huge loss as my job was supplemental income for us but the extra cash was pretty nice. Oh well! I'm more disappointed that by having to quit before Jan 1st I can't take advantage of WA new parental leave laws which would've given me an extra 12 weeks of pay! It's like saying goodbye to free money that would've been helpful. But, we'll just have to make do as we all do.
@noranorabobora no, I'm in Belfair. Centralia is South of me. So, I guess to be more accurate, I'm SouthEAST of Seattle. But yea, you are pretty close! I think Vancouver is about 3 hours South of me.
My goal was to make it up the three flights of stairs at work until 24w before taking the elevator. I'm 23w4d, and this is last AT work day until Tuesday (I telework Mon & Fri). Aside from being a little breathless, I had no issues. I'm going to aim for 26w. I'd love to be able to get to modified bed rest or delivery (I'd rather not go on MBR this time). But, I'm just going to take it 1 - 2w at a time.
At a meeting this morning one of my contractors mentioned that his sister who is pregnant with twins went into labour last night & was having a section this morning. & it has given me all the fear as she was only 30 weeks!
@leprechaunlady the only mom of twins that I know told me that she went into labor at 28 weeks (luckily they were able to stop/slow it until 32 weeks) and I had a very large panic attack. At each appointment my doctors seem to talk like these babies will be born at 37/38 weeks and I guess I just started to feel their calmness.
@leprechaunlady@amb0924, I'm only having 1, but with my blood pressure the way it was, at one point, we were all crossing our fingers I'd get to 24w without developing pre-eclampsia. Thank goodness my blood pressure stabilized, but I also know any time after 30w, they could just say...OK, he's coming out this weekend.

@amb0924 on the other end of the scale - my cousins gf went in on the day she turned 37 weeks to have her elective section so all the prayers that all of these babies stay put until theyre well enough cooked!
but in good news, when I was talking to my contractor in the afternoon, both babies (2 boys) had delivered safely & everyone was doing well. They were 3lb 11oz & 3lb 11.5oz so great weights for being so premature!
