  • Lol @stassischroeder I forget most people aren’t design/architecture/history obsessed like I am. Having two parents who are architects, basically every book I grew up reading/looking at was design based. 😂
  • @EmilyLove25 oof. So sorry you were so sick. I hope you feel a lot better today. So sorry you had to go to work when getting over a stomach bug.

@kailanae I thought I saw a penis on my NT scan (she had an underneath shot of baby, right between the legs), but was hoping it was too early for that to be an indicator it’s def a boy. But everything I’m reading online says that means the baby is a boy and your story seems to confirm that too ha.

  • @mrsvp614 I caught up on This is us over the weekend. I watched like 4 episodes and I was sobbing. I haven’t cried for a show in a long time but these hormones really got me emotional lol

@EmilyLove25 So sorry you felt so sick!! I hope your feeling better!!
  • Have been so tired I just wish I could sleep in longer. DH is not the quietest when getting ready for work. On one note my mom and stepdad finally moved out of our house!!! YAY!!! My dad ordered us a crib for DD and is going to help DH assemble it this weekend while I’m at work! I’m so excited that things are finally coming together!!!
  • since I'm technically due april 1, i'm behind on a few things around here. I officially can't fit in to anything but some skirts and dresses at this point and all I want to do is wear pants but maternity is a tad too big. I'm not sure how some of you use belly bands or the hair tie trick - the open button is annoying as shit.

  • @chichiphin ugh, the in-between stage is the WORST. I don't have any great advice - I've used both a belly band and the hair tie trick, but don't really like either. If you're feeling spendy, you could always just buy regular clothes a size up (might come in handy post partum anyway), otherwise you just kinda have to suffer through with whatever tricks you can tolerate. This stage should only last a couple weeks, though!

  • @chichiphin I’m in that exact stage. Either everything I put on in the am feels right but by lunch I feel like a can of broken biscuits. I’ve worn a lot of stretchy yoga type pants. It’s still to hot for pants her in TN. So I mostly wear athletic shorts (which are getting snug...) or my just past the knee yoga stretch ones. It’s that time of year where you might find deals on those things too. Otherwise I do lots of dresses because that’s keeps baby where she’s most free.
  • @chichiphin, I’m 17 weeks and still have almost no bump, so I feel ya. My best “tricks” so far (since I loathe the belly band and hair tie trick too) — buy one pair of maternity jeans/pants for now and wear the heck out of them; host a clothing swap (I snagged a few pairs of stretchier pants 2 or so sizes bigger than I usually wear and I’m currently wearing one of them), and check out thrift stores for less expensive “for now” solutions that could work for a few months now and postpartum. I’ve found stretchier lower cut jeans (c. 2000s) have worked. Also, depending on your office environment, fancy stretch pants (the ones I’ve got on today are essentially velvet-y leggings with fake pockets and a tunic) have been nice. Good luck!
  • @chichiphin I too am having such trouble with clothes, but the major issue for me is that it's so darn hot! I wish I could just wear stretchy pants! But also, underwear is an issue--I keep running out of the stuff that really fits, and I'm not sure what to buy to bulk up my collection, though the article on TB that popped up about underwear was seemingly helpful?

@miss.sally lol SAMES see my above comment to chichi. I wear the same 2-3 flowy dresses all the time at home lol but i just want to wear leggings--my 90+ degree walk across campus though isn't having it.

@pdx2020 I'm totalllly trying to get my department to host a clothing swap on campus lol so i can benefit from it! (I hosted one at my house last spring, but I live sort of far from campus, so I'm hoping they'll do it.)
  • @pdx2020 yeah I need business professional/bus casual to get by at work most days. thankfully a lot of dresses do the trick right now. I miss my dress pants so badly though!

  • @chichiphin last time I had bought bands called the “belly button band” and those actually buttoned onto my jeans so there was no button left open. They had different further apart settings I could choose. They were great all pregnancy and I never ended up buying maternity pants. This time those are a little too big since I started at a smaller weight so I bought a regular belly band and I agree I’m not so much of a fan. I don’t have the code for free belly button bands this time but I’m considering getting some anyways because of how much I loved them last time.

  • I'm with @miss.sally and ready for leggings 24/7. I've been switching between my biggest size dress pants and a maternity pants at work, but the maternity pants are tricky right now and don't stay up well because my bump isn't that big yet.

  • @hmjensen I’m super over water also! I’ve been getting those true lemon raspberry lemonade packets and using them to keep my liquid intake up. It’s a struggle.
  • @miss.sally that’s my next move! Here’s hoping 🤞🏼

  • I'm late to the party, sorry everyone.  I got into a terrible car accident on Tuesday afternoon on my way back to work after lunch.  A car ran a red light and smashed into me, and I spent the entire afternoon and night at the ER.  I've never been more scared in my life.  My car is totaled.  The baby appears to be doing okay... heartbeat still strong and the ultrasound I got at the hospital showed the baby moving around like normal.  But FUCK!!!  I'm being punished by some higher power lately, I swear.

I missed work yesterday and was dealing with police and insurance.  The car that hit me lied about their insurance being active and up-to-date.  When I called yesterday to report the claim, I was informed that they failed to pay their monthly insurance and their policy was canceled back in September.  Thankfully my insurance is covering everything and is going to sue these people for their negligence.

It was the worst day ever, on top of a lot of bad days that I've been having lately.  :(

And now I'm behind on all the posts here!
  • @Malidocious How scary! I am so glad to hear you and the baby are doing okay after the accident. Hope you get a chance to relax soon. 💗
  • @Malidocious OMG that is horrifying and stressful. I hope you are still feeling okay and SO glad to hear LO is okay.

  • @Malidocious Noooooooooooo!!  So glad you and baby are ok, but shit...not what you need right now!  I hope you're able to do something nice for yourself in the next few days in the midst of all this.
  • @Malidocious I’m so glad you are okay. You already had so much going on. I am so sorry.

How are you feeling? Did you have any aches? I’m so glad you’re sweet baby is doing okay. How incredibly scary. Thinking of you  <3

  • @Malidocious omgggggg! I’m SO GLAD you and baby are doing ok (physically). Cannot even imagine the emotions though. I’m totally tearing up writing this. Car crashes are one of my biggest fears. My friend was in a horrible on at 8 months pregnant, totaled her car and everything, but she and baby were miraculously ok.
  • @Malidocious I’m so sorry this happened to you, I’m so glad you and LO are okay!! Please be kind to yourself and take care of yourself
  • @Malidocious that is so scary!! I’m so sorry that happened to you, but very very glad to hear that you and baby are doing okay. I hope you’re feeling alright, though I’m sure you have aches and pains at the very least.... not to mention that headache over insurance claims. You deserve a big turn of events in your favor soon!! 💜
  • @miss.sally I could have mailed you some! Now I'm going to have to go there to check it out!
  • @keeksie84 there are so many things I’m craving from there.

Have you ever ever been to Pel Meni? It’s a Russian dumpling place in Fremont. It used to be in Bellingham and I went ALL the time in college. I tried to re-create them here and it wasn’t quite the same. I’d kill for some of those right now. 😭. So if you’ve never been, add it to your list and then tell me in detail what it was like to eat them. Lol.
  • @miss.sally, I haven't but I'll have to check it out! Sounds delicious. Now I'm thinking of "Seattle foods" and craving Paseo hard core. Did you ever go there for a sandwich?
