September Symptoms

Re: September Symptoms

  • I'm still sick and taking meds. :( I really thought it would be gone by now... I have noticed when I'm pregnant with a girl I'm way more miserable. I have no energy whatsoever either. It's hard to even get out of bed at all.
Something that's causing a lot of tension right now is I haven't been able to work so my husband has been filling in for me, plus doing his regular job. Then I have food aversions to damn near everything, and can barely think of something to eat each day. It always varies and I don't have a car, so that means food delivery. My husband is upset that our food bill has gone up, but I don't know what to do... it's hard enough as it is to come up with anything at all that I can stomach each day. This is so crappy. :(

  • @projectalice I’m sorry. I really hope you feel less ill soon. I hope your husband can realize this is temporary; it’s not your fault.

Honestly the thing I get most emotional about when pregnant is food (and I never care about food when not pregnant). I cried over an english muffin last pregnancy  :D DH has learned to just let me eat what I need to and roll his eyes silently ha.

  • @silverhope LOL I have definitely cried over food! 😂 it's the thing I struggle with the most every day, so definitely a sore spot for me!
  • @projectalice I hope you start feeling better soon. Hopefully your husband can be more understanding too because it’s really hard. I’m 15 weeks today and still feeling awful. I’m starting to fear the whole pregnancy will be like this.

  • Thank you @varimama I'm starting to worry about the same thing.... I REALLY hope not!!! 😭
My husband just doesn't get it, and we are supposed to be paying for car rentals and trying to get a new car soon since he wrecked our old car. I feel like he's taking his frustrating about everything out on me lately but I don't have any good solutions I guess. I just can't help that I feel crummy almost all the time and that it's SO hard to come up with anything I can eat each day.
  • @projectalice sending love! I really hope you turn a corner soon!
  • Hey there. 12 weeks tomorrow and have been having restless leg syndrome on and off so far throughout pregnancy. Recently this past week it has gotten worse and is driving me nuts affecting my sleep. Anyone else experiencing this and have some remedies?
  • @projectalice I feel you so so much on the food struggles. It seriously sucks and drives me nuts. I literally have Del Taco taco’s 5-6x a week for lunch or dinner, nothing else sounds good. So unhealthy. And I’m always hungry and snacking pretty much every hour (either some kind of unhealthy carb or fruit). I would say it’s almost more frustrating than the morning sickness but they go hand in hand sometimes.
  • @mrsc918 at least you have something you can eat! I haven't been taking my prenatals either, since I can't swallow the big pills, and gummies make me gag. :( I feel guilty, but I just can't get them down lately.
@alikat_84 I had that with a previous pregnancy, but never found anything to help. :( Eventually it got better. If it's effecting your sleep I would ask your doctor if they have any suggestions.
  • @projectalice i feeeeeel you on the food aversion. my husband/roomie have been sometimes understanding when they cook that i can’t  do anything flavorful, except sometimes not and they’ve have no idea how badly smells affect me =\. i feel like they aren’t on and off understanding. blah. i want to make a cookbook called Bland Food For Sick Pregnant People.

AFM: i almost threw up lat night. it would have been epic if i had since i haven’t since i was 12. it was late like 11pm and i was lying in bed trying to fall asleep after i took my bonkers and i got that “throw up” feeling and ran to the bathroom. but then i just peed and (tmi) farted and the waves of nausea went away with some time. ughhhh. i’m 13w2d soooo first tri ends the end of this week. i am still hoping for the Second Tri Is Better experience but last night has made me lesssss hopeful since that was the first time i actually thought i was going to vomit as opposed to just feeling like utter garbage constantly. =\
  • @kagesstarshroom yeaaaahh I hate cooking too, which is another reason I've done so much food delivery. I spent hours yesterday even though I felt crummy, and made some kushary. But I was able to only eat one bowl and can't eat anymore. So of course my husband is frustrated and so am I! It's tasty, I just...can't eat any more of it. :(
Tbh I'm pretty much giving up on this going away. This is so different from when I had my son! I hope yours does go away!
  • Anyone experiencing round ligament pain yet? This is my first pregnancy and the pain hit me today at 12 weeks, my colleague told me it was round ligament pain but I’ve been reading it more commonly happens at 16 weeks onward. Is it normal to experience at 12 weeks?
  • @dunder_mifflin I still can’t figure out what round ligament pain is even suppose to feel like. I have crampy type pains off and on that kind of feel like things are stretching but I have no idea if that’s just my uterus stretching or round ligament pain, or are those two things the same thing?! Lol!!!
  • @dunder_mifflin yes! I had them very early on, like week 6 even. My OB was not concerned with my RLP so I would say completely normal. Some people are just more sensitive to it.

@mrsc918 I would describe RLP as a very sudden, sharp pain. Usually on one side or both, shooting down into the vagina. Sounds lovely, right? Lol! But I’m 16 weeks and also get the on and off cramps... so annoying but I’d say better than RLP!

On a positive note, I felt the baby move for the first time 2 days ago ❤️ I was using my at home Doppler and baby did not like it... haha. Baby started moving like crazy, there was no doubt what it was. Can’t wait until that becomes more frequent.
  • So I've noticed the past few days I have the beginning of "mask of pregnancy"--yayyy. -_-
  • @mrsc918 it’s exactly as @slimjoco described. I thought it would just be cramping but this is a sharp pain, it was hard to walk a but at first. Like cramps on steroids shooting into your vagina, lol.

@slimjoco I’m relieved I’m not the only one who felt it early for FTM! I was wondering if I should call my midwife or not but I’ll call the office tomorrow if it persists. And yay for feeling baby kick!! Wow!
  • @mrsc918 Like @slimjoco and @dunder_mifflin  described, round ligament pain is like a quick sharp pain, usually if you sneeze or if you’re laying down and you jump up too quick, but it’s very sudden and doesn’t last more than a second.
  • Ah so THAT'S round ligament pain. Yes I have had that for a few weeks.

Also I've been really mopey for no reason and I can't think of anything that will make it go away.
  • Thanks for the clarification everyone! Definitely not looking forward to that...

If by “mask of pregnancy” you mean absolutely horrifying acne/skin issues on your face then +1 over here @kagesstarshroom!!!!!! My cheeks are so messed up lol
  • @mauvelousone I have been really mopey too and it feels silly because I have so much to be happy about! My husband says he distinctly remembers me feeling this way in my first two pregnancies and that it will pass and I just have to ride it out. That made me feel better because I was like why am I sad!?
  • @kagesstarshroom Ahh, mask of pregnancy. I'm in the same boat. Can't see it physically on me at this point, but any heat or crying and my face seriously feels like someone took a blowtorch to it! OB says it's the mask. We're just waiting to see how bad it is when we can see it.

@dunder_mifflin I've been experiencing RLP since about week 8. I've found that while sneezing is unavoidable, getting up slowly seems to lessen it.
  • Oh no! I woke up and I’m definitely coming down with a cold which would be awful! Any recommendations for pregnancy-safe remedies to fight this thing off?
  • @dunder_mifflin oh no!! Nothing magical that I did when I had a cold the other week, but drink a ton of fluids. Tea, water, juice.. whatever you’re drinking isn’t enough! Rest if you can, eat fruit, I use a saline nasal spray and Neti Pot if I’m really congested. Hopefully it doesn’t stick around for long!!
  • Boo I’m sorry @dunder_mifflin  colds while pregnancy stink. I generally just take lots of hot showers and rest as much as possible. I actually had swine flu (remember that epidemic 10 years ago?) when I was pregnant with DD and couldn’t do anything for it. THAT sucked majorly.
  • I threw up my dinner last night. I think I ate too late and my meds had worn off. Lesson learned. But seriously this whole still being sick at 15 weeks thing is for the birds. I’m done.
  • Thank you so much @lemonlove86 and @miss.sally ! I’ll try all of the above and some emergen-C if it’s safe for me to take.

@miss.sally sorry you’re still sick, that sucks!
  • @dunder_mifflin I believe Robutussin is pregnancy safe as well it just has to be the one without alcohol. I can't remember which one that is! When I get colds during pregnancy my sinuses are on FIRE. I'm never that way NOT pregnant... I literally would ice them at night (and it helped). Definitely all the self care.

@miss.sally 15 weeks here tomorrow and I think I threw up 20 times last night? Everything in my body came out... I just don't know why. I want to say that I ate dinner too early hahahaha. Too late, too early... I think we are doomed regardless!

  • Thank you so much @EmilyLove25

update: I think it may be a sinus cold or infection 😫. My ears are killing me and I feel so much pressure in my sinuses. Any advice? Should I call my midwife?
  • @dunder_mifflin You'll probably need to see your general doctor if you have a sinus infection. They can check you out and prescribe something pregnancy safe if needed. You can always call your midwife after to confirm they’re okay with the meds prescribed. Feel better!
  • @EmilyLove25 were you this sick with your others? This is new territory for me and I don’t understand.
  • Worked worked out today, felt great, and about 30 min later got incredibly nauseated and dizzy. Had to lay down for about 20 min. Been working out pretty regularly and not hard and drank water, so was pretty surprised by how shitty I felt. Anyone else crash like that?
  • @pdx2020 YES! I didn’t work out hard today but slept horribly last night and felt light headed and nauseous for most of the afternoon. I’ve noticed I have to take it really easy when working out too.
  • Anyone else burp all day long? I have been for weeks--and they are loud sometimes!
  • edited September 2019
@pdx2020 @lemonlove86 I find that I generally feel worse after any kind of "abnormal" exertion. I was just in Colorado and 1. was at higher altitude than I'm used to, and 2. did more activity than I normally do.... and I felt like garbage pretty much the entire time.

@kagesstarshroom I get the burps in the evenings. Pregnancy is so weird.

  • @stassischroeder They used to be primarily situated in the evening, but now I feel like it's all the time. I just ate a tums so I hope that helps, and my mom said pickle juice, so I'm gonna have some bread and butter pickles/juice when I get home. I can't do dill rn, tastes too garlicky to my insanely sensitive palate.
  • My uterus feels so tender today... I had my NT yesterday and she was really pressing in to me to get some good angles with the ultrasound. Could I be tender from that?

  • @pdx2020 With this pregnancy and my last, I have workouts like that... seems totally random but some where I just suddenly can't (which is not me at all). It's been hard, but I've learned to "hear" what my body is trying to tell me.

@miss.sally I was MUCH sicker with my son (and it lasted my ENTIRE pregnancy). Only gained 8 pounds total... like dangerously low but of course he was fine. But what's new with me this time is how it comes and goes... totally fine for 48 hours and then puking non stop all night. WTH. I hope you are coping AND that it ends for you soon.

  • @chichiphin This last sonographer I had pushed so hard!!! I've usually only had the trans-vaginal and then 20 week anatomy scan when maybe it's easier to see everything? Or she was just really rough, I don't know, but it did make me feel better about all the times DS has used the baby to push himself up, head butted me, and nailed me with a foot right in the uterus. Nothing compared to this lady!!

Sorry to everyone still having food aversions, and throwing up. I'm the opposite, a straight up monster, @silverhope you say english muffin, now I must have an english muffin.

@kagesstarshroom I am so impressed you haven't thrown up since you were 12!!!
