  • @ruby696 I had dill pickle sauerkraut this morning and it was so good! Although, I've always loved pickles. As for the clothes and bloat, use a hair tie on the button or maternity jeans, also baggier shirts. At least that is what I am doing. If I remember right, with DD I think my bloat started to go away around 8 weeks.

  • @m6agua Ah, what a milestone for your DD. We really need to get DS into lessons.... I'm hoping this winter. And yay for a weekend at home!

@ruby696 Lol about your mouth watering. I have been craving BLT's like crazy! My H is like what's for dinner and I'm like how about BLT's.... he's like no...we've done that twice this week.

What's going on this week? Nothing, a little overtime at work and that's about it.

How far along are you? 5 weeks!

Upcoming appointments? Next Tuesday I meet with the nurse educator since I did not deliver with this practice previously. First US/appt isn't until 10/4.

Cravings/Symptoms? You guys... I don't want to jinx it but the nausea started today. It's not bad yet but I don't feel great and that makes me so happy. Still exhausted, peeing x a million, and hungry.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I also hope to do a little cleaning this weekend as we are still settling into the house. My DS has been waking up like an hour earlier than usual for the past week and I'm really hoping this isn't the new normal...

Questions? Not that I can think of.
  • Lurking

@ruby696 it makes me so happy to read about how crappy your feeling 😆
  • @brookert615 now I need a pickle and cheese sandwich. Definitely making one for lunch tomorrow!
  • @m6agua Thanks for starting!  Yay for more TTGPers!

    @ruby696 Mmmmm, pickles!

@rachelg777 So funny how not feeling well makes us happy, isn't it?  Also, OMG BLTs are so good right now!!!

What's going on this week?  What's not going on this week would be the shorter answer.  We thought DS had chickenpox because he broke out in little itchy bumps and since I had shingles, we assumed a mild case of chickenpox.  So he stayed home from daycare and I had to beg a coworker to hang out with him while we went for my ultrasound today because I needed MH to be there.  Thankfully it's not chickenpox after all, but we don't know what it is.  Pedi thinks just generic virus.  He doesn't seem too bothered by it though, so that's good.

How far along are you? 6 weeks according to today's scan

Upcoming appointments?  Early scan today.  HB was at 115 BPM, which is normal for this development stage.  I have a small SCH which is giving me some anxiety.

Cravings/Symptoms?  Today I asked MH to get me Fluff from the store because I really want a Fluffernutter sandwich, haha.  It's probably been 10 years since I ate one.  So random!  Some mild nausea, food aversions, peeing lots, sore boobs.

Rants/Raves/Randoms?  So I'm pretty anxious now that I know about the SCH.  My OB says it's small and many go on to have normal pregnancies with it, but it does increase my risk of miscarriage slightly.  So UGH.  Not the worst news, but not something I wanted to hear.

Questions?  I guess if anyone has any success stories about an SCH, that would make me feel a lot better?

  • @shamrocandroll my sister had a small SCH with her last pregnancy, she had several days of bleeding but it resolved and everything went fine. I also had a friend who had a very large SCH, She was on bed rest until 20 weeks when it finally resolved and she had a healthy pregnancy. Fix yours is gone in two weeks!
  • I lurked the other TTGP post here and read it was ok if you didn't hit the 3 month mark to still join in, so hi!

What's going on this week? Trying not to be BSC picking apart everything. I swear I am done peeing on sticks (partially because I'm out). I know they don't measure the amount of hGc.

How far along are you? 4+3

Upcoming appointments? 9/23 (my first appointment)

Cravings/Symptoms? The symptoms come and go. Sensitivity to smells, mild nausea. Definitely tired. Peeing a lot. My pants were tight today. Mild cramps, but it is more of a tugging/stretching. My boobs hurt every now and then but not like with DD. I'm hoping that it's just the girls' way of saying that they know the drill and don't need to hurt all of the time.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? DD won't sleep. She's been playing in her room until like 10 every night. Why?????

Questions? Am I crazy for still taking my temp every morning?

@m6agua That is great about DD and swimming! I have to keep reminding myself that symptoms for DD didn't really kick in until like 6 weeks.

@ruby696 Cooler weather is coming! Layers may assist you in the complex world of "hiding my blump" fashion!  😂

@rachelg777 Yay for nausea! Hopefully you'll have the energy to get some house stuff done this weekend.
  • @jrouge12 My boob pain is coming going too. I hardly had any for a few days and was freaking out. Now it's back in full force. I think the coming and going is partly because it's still so early. And maybe our boobs know the drill.

@shamrocandroll FX so hard your SCH is gone in two weeks. ❤❤

  • @m6agua yay for DD doing so well with swimming! Also, do they do early testing for GD if you had it previously? I had it with DS.

@ruby696 good luck with the house cleaning! And omg, I have never been thirstier in my entire life!

@rachelg777 now I want a blt! We usually do blt wraps in a tortilla instead of toast...so good! And I'm glad you're starting to feel icky, it's a big relief whenever I push on my boobs and feel pain lol

@shamrocandroll DS broke out in a rash once and we took him in, turns out he had strep throat. It happened again a year or so later, strep throat again. For whatever reason, that's an early symptom of strep throat for him, human bodies are so weird and rashes can mean damn near anything! Hopefully they can figure out what's causing your S's rash. And as far as the SCH, I don't know of anyone who's had one, but I'm sending hugs, the last thing our pgal brains need is something else to worry about.

@jrouge12 I had to stop taking my temp because I saw a drop and started panicking. If it's not causing you stress or anxiety, go for it!

What's going on this week? Tomorrow my mom, granny, sister and I head out of town for our annual girls shopping weekend. Shop all day, spend the night in a hotel and wake up and shop some more and come home Sunday afternoon.

How far along are you? 5+1

Upcoming appointments? 9/23 ultrasound with RE and 10/8 1st appt with OB.

Cravings/Symptoms? My boobs are super sore, some low back pain, I'm always so thirsty and I've been emotional. Also, I have that weird pain where it feels like I dislocated my uterus every time I cough or sneeze...per dr google, that's normal lol. Oh and no cravings yet, last time it was mostly aversions for me so we'll see

Rants/Raves/Randoms? We've told all of our immediate family (parents/siblings) and everyone is excited.

    Questions? Nah
  • @splashmountain I am not sure if they do or not. I had an appointment already with my PCP the day I turned a test and she mentioned that they may want to. I just figured it will be something I talk about at this initial consult. I have a feeling they will want to test me early, given all of my endocrine issues the last 3 years. They may not do the glucose test, but probably will test my A1C, at least that is what I am thinking.

  • What's going on this week?
Not a whole lot. Just work & internship. I'm on break from grad school until the 25th, so I'm enjoying being homework-free for the time being.

    How far along are you?
    6+1 today

    Upcoming appointments?
First fetal ultrasound on Oct. 9th. Feels like an eternity away.

    Cravings/Symptoms?
Mostly food aversions at this point, and mainly due to my heightened sense of smell. I've also noticed shortness of breath, and getting dizzy when going from crouching or sitting to standing, so I have to remind myself to take it easy. And last night my feet were swollen, which is super new to me. Even as a distance runner, I've never gotten swollen feet (just ankles sometimes). Oh, and I upgraded to a larger (maternity-style) bra today because my cups have runneth over my old bra.

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
The preliminary list of job picks for me to choose from to transfer next summer has been released and it's much more attractive than I feared. There's a strong chance I may get to stay in this area, which will be so nice since 1) transferring with a newborn sounds like a nightmare, and 2) this will be my "twilight tour" meaning my last tour before I retire, so I'm reluctant to uproot us only to have me retire shortly thereafter.

  • @splashmountain Thank you.  Yes, definitely doesn't help the PGAL anxiety!  Especially since this before growth stopped for my first MMC.  But I'm trying to stay optimistic.  Thank you!  I hope you have a great girls shopping day!

@yodamama LMAO at "my cups have runneth over"

  • What's going on this week? Just so glad it is finally Friday.

How far along are you? 6 weeks today

     Upcoming appointments? 9/19

Cravings/Symptoms?  I have had really bad nausea and meat aversions until this morning. Woke up feeling fine which of course gives me some anxiety.  Trying to remind myself that these things come and go sometimes and not to stress.

Rants/Raves/Randoms?  It was finally a little cooler out today so DD and I were able to go to the park. It was really nice.
  • @m6agua and @ruby696 Add me to the always thirsty group.

@rachelg777 DD  goes through phases where she wakes up an hour early for a couple of weeks at a time. She usually goes back to normal so I hope the same is true for you!

@shamrocandroll  hoping so hard that it goes away in two weeks!

@jrouge12.  I barely had sore breasts with my first pregnancy so I wouldn’t worry if I were you.

@splashmountain  enjoy the shopping weekend. That sounds like so much fun.

@yodamama  glad that you have a possibility of staying put.
  • @m6agua ok. I'm going to ask my ob at my appointment, but your comment about testing early made me curious.

@yodamama good luck with the job choice!

@newmomtx06 ooo the park sounds fun, sorry your lack of symptoms is giving you anxiety
  • @ruby696 Yeah, it is early. With DD it was the early boob pain that made me suspicious and I tested. Before her it was never a PMS symptom but after having her it was pretty regular. Maybe the absence is the trick this time.

@splashmountain Yeah the temping is reassuring for me right now. I'll probably stop soon. I was never one for true cravings with DD either,  there were things I wanted but didn't need . But I had a 9 month hatred of raw onions.

@yodamama The job transfer choices sound fun! Moving with a new born sounds terrible! I never would have thought the breathlessness was a symptom but so many people mention it. That has been me teaching the past few days.

@newmomtx06 I am also happy it is Friday!!!
