Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out
Baby is the size of a(n): stick shift knob
Upcoming appts: ultrasound at a private place to find out sex on 9/21!
How are you feeling?: Still crappy... I hope relief is just a week behind since that is what I was measuring at the dating ultrasound bc idk how much more I can take
Rants/Raves: my rant is basically above, I’m exhausted and need that 2nd tri energy and to eat decent food again. This one is kind of in between, I told my parents over text and they responded back with “congratulations we are happy for you”. I mean I guess that’s good. I told my aunt at the same time and she immediately video called me full of excitement. Like that’s the reaction I expect from my parents but haven’t gotten it either time. At least this time they weren’t negative though...
Questions: none
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why? Be the smartest person on the planet bc I bet the smartest person could figure out how to make enough money to be comfortable, find a way to make diet and exercise work for them, and maybe even figure out a way to look younger... haha is that cheating?

Baby is the size of a(n): lightbulb 😂
Upcoming appts: at the end of the month
How are you feeling?: still crappy. I’m glad I’m starting to look actual pregnant though. My belly seems to have popped a little and when I really accentuate it I definitely look pregnant. So I’m trying to dress that way daily (or wear a mumu and completely hide it). Lol
Rants/Raves: y’all it’s 7am and my toddler is asleep still. Whaaaaat?! He usually wakes up by 6:15 which is hard for me. Now I’m awake and he’s still asleep and I wish I were asleep too!!! Howwwww did this happen? Also please keep it happening.
Questions: I might come back for this one.
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: I like @varimama answer. I think there would be a lot of benefits to being the smartest person in the world. But it might be hard to ever have a conversation with anyone.
@varimama I’m sorry your parents didn’t have the reaction you hoped for. I dealt with that with my mom last time when we were going through a rough patch. I’m glad your aunt was excited though!
@miss.sally Jealous that you look pregnant! I look like I'm packing on the lbs.
EDD/W+D: 3.10/14W

Baby is the size of a(n): Peach
Upcoming appts: Tomorrow. No U/S though
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. It got super hot here again, so I'm not loving that.
Rants/Raves: Rant: I have to collect my urine in a HUGE orange jug over the next 24 hours for tomorrow's appointment. I'll post a pic in the spoiler. They said to keep it cold, so I'm hoping none of my co-workers mistake it for orange juice in the AM!
Rave: Looks like I'm going to decline the job offer that would require us to move, but bring me a huge raise. I'm finally assured it's the right choice, and my boss has agreed to a fair raise here, and to move me to a "normal" schedule. I'm hoping it's a much better lifestyle for my family.
Questions: Nope!
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: This is hard. I like @varimama's answer, but if I'm being honest, I feel like being a billionaire would make life a lot easier!

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: I think we're going to find out, or DH will and I'll not.
Baby is the size of a(n): Matchbox Car
Upcoming appts: OB check up Friday, one of the quick ones.
How are you feeling?: So much better over all, which I feel bad for saying given how others feel! I'm still tired, but my nausea has given way to constant hunger. It's bananas.
Rants/Raves: I'm not feeling super connected to this pregnancy like I was with DD, not sure why. It's probably because I don't have a lot of time to think on it right now. We're in the end of the fiscal year at work, wrapping up DD's autism screenings, and just busy in general. Excited for October so things can slow down a bit!
Questions: None today.
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?:
I think I'd rather be a billionaire, but still live relatively modestly, and use the money to impact positive change in my community.
EDD/W+D: March 10, 14w0d
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: team pink
Baby is the size of a(n):
Upcoming appts: Regular check-up tomorrow
How are you feeling?: Physically, much better. The all-day nausea is pretty much gone, though I do still have an occasional spell and I throw up (if I smell something horrible is the usual trigger.) Emotionally, I'm happy to be saying goodbye to 1st tri, and glad for healthy test results, but dealing with a little bit of initial gender-reveal disappointment.
Rants/Raves: Rant for digging out the maternity clothes - My pregnancy with DS was back in 2015/2016, so the maternity clothes are buried somewhere in my basement and I haven't been able to find them, between all of DD and DS's old stuff. I really don't want to go through 'everything' again, but it's looking like I might have to. And it's probably time to do some purging now that I know I won't be needing any little boy stuff anymore!
Rave,2nd tri. I can't wait to develop more of a visible baby bump and just feel 'safer' about the pregnancy in general.
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why? I would rather be the smartest, even though that would probably be a pretty big burden with people all looking to me to solve their problems. lol. I guess I don't care much about money (though not having to worry about it is nice) or about looking young or fit.
EDD/W+D: 14+2 (3/9)
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: BLUE!
Baby is the size of a(n): Peach
Upcoming appts: Sept 24 for ultrasound
How are you feeling?: Physically, much better. Nausea is gone, though still some aversions. Emotionally, up and down. DH has been out of town for 5 days and doesn’t get back until Friday. Parenting two littles solo is tiring. I am also stressed about finances.
Rants/Raves: Rave: DD1 started preschool yesterday and rocked it. She was so excited, and her teacher’s feedback on day 1 was that she was so kind to everyone.
Rant: We got a major rain storm the last two days and have a leak in our roof/wall joint that will need to be repaired and cost $$. Seattle is so damn expensive, and I am already stressing about how we’re going to make it all work with three littles. The daycare that just opened near us that I went to check out costs $2,300/mo per kid (I don’t even think this is the infant rate). I just can’t.
Questions: none at the moment, but I am sure I’ll think of some soon.
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: Probably billionaire so I can have nice things, travel, and give back to those in need. I definitely wouldn’t want to be the smartest person in the world. I’ve worked with too many gifted kids who struggle to relate to people because they think so differently.
EDD/W+D: March 12th/13 weeks + 5 days
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: TEAM GREEN!
Baby is the size of a(n): Clown Fish
Upcoming appts: I get blood drawn for something on the 19th… and I’m using it as a reason to take a “sick day” from work.
How are you feeling?: So, so, so much better… nausea-wise, breathing-wise (still not great but BETTER), energy-wise, AND anxiety-wise.
Rants/Raves: Rave: DH travels this week and it’s in the 90s, so I was worried I’d get zero workouts in Monday-Thursday, but I went on an “early lunch” and ran 5 miles while it was only 79. They were awesome.
Questions: Anyone have a minivan out there with any tips? I was dead set on an Odyssey but now am loving the Pacifica. I want to buy it closer to when LO arrives.
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?:I would want to be a billionaire, no questions asked. I enjoy working out, so no worries there, aging isn’t great but ehhh, and “smartest” is so relative. If I had that much money, I could stay home with my kids no questions asked!
_________
@varimama a Stick Shift Knob seems so big! Also I love your aunt’s reaction! Sorry for the blaze parent response.
@miss.sally I feel you… I think in tight fitting clothes especially I definitely look PREGNANT. I still haven’t busted out my maternity stuff because it seems so early! Yay for toddler sleep!
@MrsVP614 Since we live sort of near each other lol. I feel you on this second heat wave. I mean the 90s??? Why??? And yay for knowing you are making the right choice! I would do the same thing at this point in my life.
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese YES Nausea has been replaced by lots of hunger here… definitely need a (large) snack between dinner and bed… and I eat dinner relatively late..
@treetop19 Hugs for the initial gender disappointment.
@JenEP Yay for DD’s first day at preschool!

@MrsVP614, just looking fat instead of pregnant!
@MrsVP614 Good luck at your appointment tomorrow!
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese Good luck at your appointment on Friday! I'm not really feeling connected this pregnancy, but I think it's because the first trimester was so stressful (for me). I'm hoping once the second trimester is in swing, it'll start to feel more *real* and I'll start having conversations with the nugget and feeling more connected.
@treetop19 Good luck at your appointment tomorrow! I feel you on having to dig out clothes... I don't have any maternity clothes, but I do have clothes from when I was heavier that I had been holding on to and would likely fit in now. I'd love to be able to just go grab the bin that I think they're in, but that's buried underneath so much other stuff... it sounds exhausting just to get to them. I'm with you on being ready for 2nd trimester and feeling "safe" finally.
@jenEP I'm so glad you're feeling better! I hope the rest of this week goes by quickly so you can be reunited with your husband and he can get to helping you with the kiddos! I can't imagine parenting two little ones while also being pregnant... sounds so exhausting! But you can do it!
@EmilyLove25 I'm sooooo glad your nausea and breathing are both better; that is great news! I'm jealous on the energy, but I think mine is slowly coming back. I was able to start exercising again! RE: minivans, one of my very best friends and her fiance just got a Chrysler Pacifica last weekend and they are in love with it. They have 4 little ones, all 5 and under.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Team finding out! The Sneak Peek test said we are having a BOY, but we're going for an elective ultrasound on 9/25 to find out the sex. I'll let you know if the Sneak Peek was right or not!
Baby is the size of a(n): A plum or a lemon...
Upcoming appts: Elective ultrasound on 9/25 and then a regular OB check-up on 9/26.
How are you feeling?: I'm feeling depressed lately, but it's my own fault because I still haven't started the Zoloft yet. My actual OB said she prescribes it to her patients all the time, but she understands my concerns based on the newer studies that show heart defects. Realistically, I realize that Zoloft is the wise choice because a depressed and anxious mother cannot be good for the baby... but I'm a paranoid person who absolutely should never have googled antidepressants while pregnant, especially if my OB says its okay (or that the risk is very small).
Rants/Raves: Rant: I have to find a new dentist office because I'm mad at mine. I've been thinking about switching for years now, but I'm finally going to do it. I had an appointment scheduled for earlier this year but had to reschedule because I was sick. My rescheduled appointment was supposed to happen about a month ago, but they had to reschedule me because the dentist and the hygienist were both going to be suddenly out of the office. My appointment was supposed to be yesterday, but when I called, they said I wasn't on there and I couldn't reschedule a new time to come in, I could only be placed on a short list of people they'd call if there was a sudden cancellation. Wtf?! No.
Questions: None right now that I haven't already asked before.
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: Oooh, I want to be a billionaire!! I was going to choose being fit/healthy but I do a pretty good job of that on my own (when I'm not pregnant, at least). And I don't think I'd want to be the smartest person because I would walk around irritated with how dumb people are CONSTANTLY. Lol!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Blue!
Baby is the size of a(n): Tall as a credit card?🤣
Upcoming appts: Not til the end of the month.
How are you feeling?: Good. Except for strong nausea in the morning, which makes it tricky to get myself and two toddlers ready for the day. And exhaustion in the afternoons, but...toddlers so maybe that’s not entirely the baby’s fault.
Rants/Raves: Finding out its a boy has me seriously purging our girl clothes and cleaning out our basement. Early nesting?
Questions: Boy moms, what should I read to learn about the differences in caring for a boy (ie. boy parts)?
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: I’d rather be perpetually fit AND in good health despite eating whatever. It would be nice to eat without worrying about cholesterol, etc.
@miss.sally I didn’t realize you grew up here? Where at specifically? Where do you live now? The cost of living is out of control here right now with all the tech companies moving in. I wish we could move to Idaho, but our business is here so we will likely be here for a while.
@momoftoddlers you are the first person with a minivan who doesn’t rave about it! I am a smaller person and getting car seats in and out of SUVs is very difficult for me. I want both kids to be able to crawl in on one side, and I loathe having to put one kid in, go put the other in, then going back to close the door of the first kid. Or waiting for my three year old to crawl out a sloth’s pace so I can close her door while holding my squirmy 1 year old. I didn’t really think of the diaper changing in the back, though I have probably only done that a handful of times in my current car. Things to think about!
EDD/W+D: 03/11/20 - 13w6d
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: BLUE
Baby is the size of a(n): One app says Lime, the other says Jalepeño...that's the size for 13 wks, but I'll be 14wks tomorrow
Upcoming appts: Had an appt today to check and make sure the Labetalol meds for my blood pressure is working, and surely my blood pressure was the lowest it's been since becoming pregnant which is great news!
How are you feeling?: I'm feeling overall pretty good. Sleep is becoming less and less comfortable and I've been having more round ligament pains and just overall discomfort when sitting for too long. I do have a pregnancy pillow which has been helping a lot.
We did our pregnancy announcement on Sunday on social media and I've finally told everyone at work the news, so that's a relief because now I don't have to hide it any longer. My bump has definitely grown and I actually look pregnant now which is so exciting!
Rants/Raves: We found out the gender on Friday and I was really hoping and praying for a girl. As the days go by, I'm getting more and more used to the thought of having a boy. Everyone says boys love their mommies.
Questions: None today
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: If I had to choose, I'd rather be a billionaire because I'd be able to afford to never look a day over 25 and I'd be able to hire the best trainers / chefs so that I can remain fit. I passed over being the smartest because just because you're smart doesn't mean you're wise or have common sense lol I know a lot of book smart people who are just that, and lack common sense.
I'm like a hobbit right now... Breakfast, second breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, second dinner, middle of the night snack.
@MrsVP614 I’m so glad you’re getting a raise and normal schedule even if it’s not as big as the other raise I hope it makes your family life a lot better!
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese I’m not feeling connected this time either. I’m hoping finding out the sex will help but I think it’s probably going to take until I start feeling better and feeling some kicks! Last time I definitely felt even more connected once we knew he was a boy and he had a name.
@treetop19 I think it’s totally normal to have some initial disappointment on the sex and it doesn’t mean you’ll love the baby any less. I know I’ll be a bit shocked if this baby is a girl (which it probably is). I’m super nervous bc I have a terrible relationship with my mom and am afraid I will with a daughter too. I know logically one has nothing to do with the other but it still scares me.
@jenEP I’m sorry about sudden expenses bc of rain, those are the worst!
@EmilyLove25 that’s awesome you’re getting exercise in! I need to get back on that bandwagon
@Malidocious good luck on your elective U/S too! I wonder if your sneak peek was right! I considered doing it but I feel like it’d be impossible to get traces of DS and DH off a surface lol so I was too nervous of contamination lol
@momoftoddlers I don’t have a girl (yet) so can’t compare but boys are easy! If you have them circumcised in the beginning there is some extra care but it’s just Vaseline and a gauze pad until it’s healed. After that just wipe as normal and make sure you point it down in the diaper or he’ll pee right out the top of the diaper! That still happens sometimes especially early bc they move around in the diaper so maybe be ready for some extra leaks. Otherwise nothing to really worry about.

Here it is!
@EmilyLove25 We just got a 2018 Pacifica in June, the week before we knew we were KU, and we LOVE it! We rented one for vacation last year and really liked it. It was more in our price range than the Odyssey, and I personally like the look of it better.

@varimama I want to trust the Sneak Peek but once I got to reading about how easily they can be contaminated and skew it to a false boy result, I just can't take it as fact yet. I did mine at my parents' house in the spare guest bedroom bathroom that NEVER gets used unless my sister is sleeping over. My dad never even goes in there, so I'm hoping it wasn't contaminated... but we'll find out in a few weeks (if baby is cooperative, which I'm not feeling optimistic about based on its behavior during the NT scan, LOL).
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Team PINK! We found out yesterday
Baby is the size of a(n): As tall as a crayon. Yesterday was a baby chick which I think is so cute!
Upcoming appts: End of the month for a check up, I think.
How are you feeling?: Headaches have started and are pretty regular for me, which is uncomfortable. Some heartburn too, but overall good! Much better (sorry to everyone still feeling crappy!)
Rants/Raves: Rave! I told coworkers today and everyone was so nice and supportive. Announcement in spoiler!
Questions:
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: Definitely billionaire. I feel like it would take care of the day to day stresses (I'm currently worried about spending $$$$ on baby stuff, daycare, furnishing our house, etc.), and then we could travel!
---
@varimama I’m sorry to hear that about your parents. Family relationships are hard (…as we are all are either starting a family or growing one, lol), and I find that its hard not to be disappointed in certain family members when they don’t “live up” to this idea I have of them in my head or what our relationship should be.
@miss.sally FX for more toddler sleeps! You deserve some Me time!
@workingonmynightcheese I haven’t felt connected to this pregnancy until literally yesterday when we got NIPT results back. I feel you. Good luck with wrapping everything up- you have a lot on your plate!
@treetop19 woo hoo team pink!
@jenEP that is the best compliment to have received about DD1! Also I can’t believe how expensive that daycare is!! Although I honestly have no idea what daycare costs here…
@EmilyLove25 holy 90 degree weather!! It’s warm here too but heading to Austin this weekend for a wedding.. highs in the upper 90’s! I’m about to melt.
@malidocious I understand the mixed feelings/anxiety about taking Zoloft during pregnancy. Luckily my anxiety has been manageable so far, but keeping an eye on it is one of my main priorities this pregnancy.
@lizp1229 what pregnancy pillow do you have? I’m definitely in the market for one but not for my bump yet… my boobs are so out of control big (I’m a G cup before pregnancy and they’ve grown a LOT) moving around is getting uncomfortable at night!
@lemonlove86 I got the PharMeDoc Pregnancy Pillow with Jersey Cover, C Shaped Full Body Pillow from Amazon; it's pretty big and very comfy. My boobs aren't big at all but the pillow does provide pretty good support from top to bottom, I love it!

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out!
Baby is the size of a(n): Peach
Upcoming appts: Had one this morning. Next is Oct. 8th checkup and some blood work.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Aside from the headaches and lower back pain.
Rants/Raves: Vacation is finally here!! Leaving tomorrow morning and I am so excited!!
Questions: Posted on the weekly question thread.
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: Definitely would rather be a billionaire. I think it would just help with everyday stress. We would be able to provide for our families, travel, and I would definitely hire a professional chef and trainer to help keep me fit and well fed lol
@stacey6689 Aw, a little peach
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Green
Baby is the size of a(n): Lemon
Upcoming appts: October 8
How are you feeling?: Better. Mostly just tired. Still anxious. I've been feeling what I believe are early movements occasionally for the last week or two, but I keep convincing myself they're not real.
Rants/Raves: I had my appointment today. My OB couldn't find baby's heartbeat, but she picked up a couple of kicks with the doppler. So I ended up in the ultrasound room because she thought we might have an anterior placenta and baby is perfectly fine, just chilling in the farthest point in my uterus. The placenta is posterior, which I'm really excited about because my previous pregnancy was anterior and I didn't any movement until 22 weeks. I also had blood drawn for NIPT and the nurse really struggled with getting blood out of me (I'm always a hard stick). We're 'officially' team green with my OB's office, they've put it in my paperwork to inform the test company to not determine the sex. My OB also handed me the hospital pamphlet and they've added nitrous oxide since I had my daughter there. And finally, she cleared me for international travel as long as we go before mid December. My husband has to travel to London before then for his job, although we don't know the specific dates yet, and we were hoping to make it a family trip.
Questions:
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: Billionaire. You can't avoid aging even if you still look 25, extremely smart people often struggle with relating to others, and while not having to watch what I eat may be nice; I think it would be better to be in a financial position where I could help a lot of people.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out (6 weeks to go 😭)
Baby is the size of a(n): peach
Upcoming appts: 10/1 with midwife and scheduling anatomy US from there!
How are you feeling?: morning sickness finally hit me this week. I have thrown up every morning for the last 4 days 😐 I thought it was going to skip me- nope!
Rants/Raves: Rant, I wish that I got notifications for the baby mom group board on my phone! I feel like I miss so much because I have to remember to go back and look for replies etc.
Questions: none this week
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?: I would be a billionaire. I could hire a personal trainer, afford top of the line skin care, and I’m confident with where my intelligence is at. Plus, SHOPPING 🛍
Team Green
Baby is the size of a: Cupcake 🧁 mmm..
Upcoming appts: I know it’s next month sometime, I think in 3 weeks.
How are you feeling?: tired and hungry. My patience for my two kids is thin. Especially in the evening when they won’t GTF to sleep!
Rants/Raves: Sneezing... it’s not fun anymore. I used to enjoy a good sneeze, It was somehow satisfying. Now it’s just terrifying.
Oh, also my Dr almost spilled the beans on what we are having. We are team green all the way and I had called to confirm my NIPT test results were negative. When I went in for my appointment he asked if I already had my results and I said, “yep!”
then he got this big stupid grin and said, “So you know you’re having a” I had to cut him off!!!! I totally thought we had opted out of that test. 😳 Ay caramba!
Questions: none
GTKY: Would you rather be a billionaire, never look a day over 25, perpetually fit despite eating whatever you want, or the smartest person on the planet? And why?:
I think never looking a king a day over 25 would be great. I’m gonna assume to look healthy you need to be healthy. Health and happiness kinda go hand in hand for me. Plus I know a few über wealthy families who are also über miserable, so I do not equate money with happiness... though it’s great to have everything you need.
@keeksie : I have been lurking for weeks and not posting for that reason. I always get all caught up in my post and then get distracted. 😂
Also, i’m loving the car thread above. We need a 3rd row now with #3. Though I’d prefer to keep it SUV, I have no idea what to get.
