STMs share your birth stories!

Re: STMs share your birth stories!

  • Thanks, everyone, for sharing your stories!

They are quite beautiful and, as others have said, even the ones that didn't go as planned ended up ok in the end.

As a FTM planning a natural birth in a birthing center, it sounds like trusting your body and letting things progress as naturally as possible are good ways to encourage a positive birth experience.

    Your rock, mamas!
My advice as a TTM who is also natural birth minded (had my second unmedicated in a freestanding birth center) is that the best thing you can do is to find care providers whom you trust and have a similar birth philosophy as you.  As everyone has mentioned, often things don't go as planned during birth and it can be very hard to advocate for yourself while you're in the thick of things, so knowing that your care providers are aligned with your wishes/values is huge.  If you're already working with midwives at a birth center, you're already on the right track to having a positive birth experience.
