@ktmaesim I have that insane back pain too today! It hurt to breathe deeply this morning and I couldn't bend or move well - insane stabbing feeling between the shoulders! I actually took today off because my job is active enough that I didn't think I'd make it through. I'm going to try a bath later to see if it helps and reevaluate my pillow arrangement for tonight.
I'm somewhere between feeling like I can never catch my breath and it feeling like I'm going to pass out even if I'm in a reclined position. I don't remember this with my daughter!
@nothingbuttherain ugh sorry you're dealing with it too. I seriously just have to go lay down as soon as humanly possible or I will scream. I don't get why its so centered in the middle tho. I was expecting lower back pain mostly. I have another massage on Thurs so maybe that'll help.....
I’ve been getting some lower back pain randomly. It’s freaks me out because it almost reminds me of period cramps but it goes away quickly and isn’t very painful. Also my first trimester dizziness seems to be coming back and I haven’t been sleeping as well! I can tell I’m starting to inch closer to the third trimester. 🙃
And I’m the proud owner of a root canal. Crazy to think how quickly my toothache escalated. According to the endodontist it’s the baby’s fault. 🤣 between hormones and taking all the calcium in my body, tooth #19 decided it had enough. Chalk that one up to weird ass pregnancy symptoms.
@ashorkey my babies tend to carry high (well they don’t have much of a choice, I have a super short torso). So they live in my rib cage and lungs, causing shortness of breath beginning around midway through. Are you carrying high this time?
@blueskychicago12 I’m definitely hearing it or feeling the blood shift more frequently than normal. Some basic yoga moves even get me queasy and blood pound-y. I’ve also I can actually see (subtle) and feel (not subtle) my blood pounding around the baby bump at times. Have you seen that?
Is anyone else experiencing various levels of activity still? I just hit 27 weeks and yesterday he was crazy all day, today he’s moved some but it’s been more subtle and not as often. I’m sure I’ve brought this up before but it’s making me paranoid.
@blueskychicago12 OMG I couldn't type this fast enough after seeing your post about the pulse! IT JUST happened to me yesterday for the first time (while I was going to the bathroom LOL) I was like whoaaaa what is happening?!
@k_mama91 I'm in the same boat...and I think we have the same due date. I'm not feeling a ton of movement throughout the day; it seems somewhat sporadic. The only thing that is reliable is that she becomes quite active after I eat dinner and I also usually feel some kicks after drinking something cold or having any sugar! My doctor said it's normal at this stage, but I also saw that at 28 weeks I am supposed to start keeping track of the kicks, which I'm a little concerned about. I feel like that's going to make me worry.
@blueskychicago12 Yes! We have days where he moves consistently and strongly and then days where he moves really faintly a few times throughout the day. I’m extremely nervous about counting kicks next week due to this. I don’t want to be the one always calling the doctor or going to L&D bc of my paranoia.
As @blueskychicago12 mentioned, my midwife specifically told me that there's going to be variable amounts of movement and not to worry about counting kicks until 28 weeks. Even then, they can still sleep for like 40 minutes at a time, so it's (I think) 10 movements within 2 hours. Sometimes you'll get to that number within about 15 minutes, sometimes it will take longer. But prior to 28 weeks there's still enough room in there that baby could be moving around in an area that you're unable to feel,
I have a weird one. I have been trying to sleep on my left side, but sometimes when I roll over onto my right side I get this tingly sensation between my waist and ribcage. The other night I woke up and felt like my side was asleep. This never happened to me with my last pregnancy. Position of the baby? What is this?
I've got a really weird one. Every morning or late at night recently if I wake up to pee, my feet and hands are SORE. Like the knuckles and arches of my feet and the balls of them. It has to be something with my circulation/blood flow I assume? But the sore feeling only lasts a little bit
OK and while I’m at it, the minute my husband walks in the door from work every single day, my nipples literally start stinging . And he gets home at all different times
@ktmaesim The nipple one is so weird!! Not to be a total weirdo, but I wonder if it's like, excitement that he's home? My nipples have been stinging/burning quite a lot the last few weeks. At first I just thought it was after eating spicy food, but now it seems to happen for no reason.
@k_mama91 the pregnancy manual from my OB lists some strategies for encouraging the baby to move if you're having trouble feeling kicks after the 28 week mark. Drink something, lay on your side in a quiet room, etc. I think you can also choose to do your counts at a time of day that he tends to be more active (after dinner maybe). Hopefully we won't have any issue getting to the daily quota.
@brrrrrrrrie My next appt is the 11th and I’ll be right at 28 weeks so I expect to be instructed to start counting kicks then.
@blueskychicago12 I need to clarify what counts as a kick I think. My main issue is the super faint super far in between movements vs the obvious strong punches. If I can count the bubble like sensations I might be ok.
@k_mama91 I just read an article this morning saying that the “kick” counting is very flexible now, because all babies are so different. (Maybe on this site even? I just got my 28 week info this morning) It said that anything can count as a kick, and that sometimes if you sit to count, you may be waiting much longer than other times due to the fact that baby is asleep, so basically getting any number between 4 and 100 kicks per hour is considered normal. Hope that helps put your mind at ease!
@cpk3535 Thanks! That makes me feel slightly more relaxed and it makes sense that you’d have a longer wait time by actually sitting and focusing on movement. I don’t remember being this paranoid the first time 😣
@anniemarie887 Girl. My first pregnancy ended with me having to have 4 root canals. My first baby was not nice to me. Last pregnancy and this pregnancy I paid out of pocket to have an extra cleaning because i dont want that mess again. Growing a baby is hard lol
So yesterday, without realizing it, I spent the whole day on my feet, watching football while doing stuff around the house ( we have a tv in almost every room). When my husband and I finally went to our room to get ready for bed, I had so much pressure and pain in my lower abdomen I wanted to cry. I never felt this with the other two, but considering this baby is back to back with my last, I am sure this is gonna be an occurring problem. Finally get to use my belly band I bought for my first baby that I have in a box somewhere.
is anyone else starving? it's not like nausea inducing hunger, it's just legit i am hungry every like 2 hours... i've gotten up in the middle of the night the last few nights and snacked.
@anniemarie887 That’s so funny you say that- I just said that while I woke up yesterday feeling not really hungry at all. This morning, I woke up at like 4am starving, and I’m so hungry today! What the heck?!? Growth spurt time?
@cpk3535 that's what i'm thinking... anything i'm trying to google is about controlling your appetite or like super healthy eating while pregnant which just makes me ugh let's perpetuate weight gain as a bad thing. ugh.
@anniemarie887 It is so funny you mention this! I literally woke up TWICE last night so hungry I was a little shaky. And I’ve been doing pretty well about eating like every two hours. I guess baby is packing on the pounds! I ordered some relatively healthy/balanced protein bars the first time I experienced the super immediate and strong hunger. They are coming in handy again! Although I’d really love for it not to be a middle of the night thing. 🤷🏻♀️
Re: September Symptoms
i DONT KNOW WHY SLEEPNG HAS TO BE SUCH AN ISSUE. I just want a restful night!

I can solidly say that my hip pain is NOT Charley horses, because I had two of those in my leg/foot last night. Holy jeeze it was shocking!
On the plus side I had no hip pain while I slept last night - I'm staying at a friend's and I think I need a softer mattress/topper at home.
