The center diamond was my husband’s grandmothers. He had it set in a halo because I loved that look. I want to change it up because now this style is everywhere. It was unique 11 years ago, now not so much.
@tyrion_ your ring is gorgeous! I love that it is a family heirloom, makes it that much more special! ❤
I really wanted something classic and loved the traditional solitaire look. DH liked it as well and got me this 💍 (first time posting a spoiler... hope it works!) My ILs gave me a necklace the Christmas after our engagement that matches my ring and the stone is DH's grandmother's. I wear it everyday.

DH also makes me rings out of the paper straw wrappers. Princess cut diamond!
There's a kind of funny story with the ring. We had gone out and I picked out the band I wanted. I'm kinda particular because I didn't want something that looked like the ring was wearing me. When we looked at center stones I had been dead set on a princess cut diamond (my name means princess in Hebrew after all). Well I also like how the regular round diamond looked too! So, I told DH he could pick either and in terms of sizes I felt a third carat was large enough. I also wanted a diamond that didn't look very yellow because that just looks dirty and weird to me.
Well, I find out her splurged on a diamond that to the eye has basically no yellow and it was a half carat. Gonna be a while before he'll even consider upgrading the size of my center stone 😅

@tyrion_@ziggymama06 those are beautiful rocks! I love rings with sentimental value ❤️
I hope I don't get flamed for this but I hate jewelry so I told DH that it would be a waste to spend any money on my ring. Instead he proposed with his mom's ring, and I love it! It's perfect for me
@ziggymama06 beautiful! Can't go wrong with a classic style. I'm all for more minimal ring styles. Don't get me wrong the more elaborate rings are pretty, but they just don't fit my style.

I love everyone’s rings! Especially the sentimental ones. Mine doesn’t have a fun story behind it- basically I wanted something small and delicate and when DH and I went shopping there were 2 I liked. I love the one he chose! I’m hiding my fingers because my nails are gross 😂
@b_1029 looks like you and I have similar tastes! We are sure we're not the same person? 😆
I have a better, unobstructed by fake paper rings, view here - wedding band included!

Love seeing everyone's rings!! My DH knew that I was obsessed with Heidi Gibson rings, so he tallied up which photos I had liked on her instagram page to see which design I had liked the most!
Oooh I love rings, and everyone's are beautiful!!! I love the stories too!
My rings are SUPER sentimental. My wedding band is my grandma's, my mom passed away before I got married and she asked that we use it before that happened. My engagement ring is also partially an heirloom. My center stone is the one my dad gave my mom in 1968, MH had it reset for me in a channel setting to match my grandma's ring.
MH always gets mad when he finds my rings on the windowsill by the kitchen sink, I probably should stop that.

These are great! I don't have mine yet; I proposed to him a few weeks ago and he's looking for one for me. The one I got him was too wide and pinched a little, so I exchanged it. I'll post pictures when it arrives tomorrow! (It' s men's band, so not as exciting, but still! I picked it out and I'm proud of it.)
@inthewoods23 I love that he makes you paper rings! So cute!
@tyrion_ MH put one of his grandmother's diamonds in my ring too! I love it!
AFM - one of the side diamonds was from his grandmother's ring. It makes it extra special to me! I love my engagement ring so much because he's the one that gave it to me! I'm such a sap for him!

So many beautiful rings!! I love all the sentimental stories that go with them! Nothing really sentimental about mine, other than the fact that DH picked it out all on his own (with a couple of tips/hints)!! I wanted something classic, and I think he found just that...and I’m pretty sure this is what he would have gone with even without the tips! This pic was taken on our honeymoon...we were so smitten with each other then, and our love has grown even more than I could imagine! 💜
Also, happy I could join in on this GTKY...I don’t have a celebrity doppelgänger that I know of, but I enjoyed looking at your all’s!
I love everyone’s rings here so beautiful. I love seeing people’s style etc.
I love love love jewelry, especially diamonds ❤️💍 lol
Here are my rings and with a side view of the ring too as it has diamonds on the sides of the band around on each side.
No story really behind it. Just the ring I wanted. My DH proposed to me on a beach by the ocean in the Dominican Republic with this ring when we were on vacation. We just got married 5 months ago on March 30/19. 😁 💕
@mindyb2019 we got engaged in the DR too!! February of 2018 and Monday is our 1 year anniversary!

Oooh I love this GYKY. You all have beautiful rings! I'm going to include the photo my photographer took in my engagement pictures because my camera doesn't do it justice. No real sentimental story but I love my ring.
I wanted to show the scrolling on the sides. That's what sold DH on the ring. It felt unique.
I took this but never posted it! (The light probably turned green😬) Pretty simple but that’s definitely my style. DH and I went to look at rings because he wanted to get an idea of what I liked but then there was only one I did so I wasn’t really surprised. But I like that we picked it out together!
@kpearse99 omg really? Cool. Yay twinzies lol. What part of the DR? Mine was in Punta Cana. My fav place to be. Do you have any plans for your 1 year Anniversary on Monday?
I never wear mine I lost them for a full year, also
Here's the pic I took after I found them again - strangely, on our 5th anniversary in a robe i never wear...so weird
My husband designed the engagement ring based off of one I saw in a jewlery store & loved. The first design actually wasn't right, but he proposed to me with it -- then I exchanged it for this corrected one. So this isn't actually the ring I said yes to. ha. Hard to see in here but it's twisty with diamonds in the twists too.
Also late today. Love seeing all of yours, especially the vintage-looking ones! @feather_heather Swoon! @kpearse99 & @photographerwife 😍😍😍 Mine doesn’t have a romantic story; like my wedding dress, I insisted on getting a deal. We got these on clearance at two very American mega-stores on the day of our impromptu courthouse wedding. I put one on at the courthouse and the other one on at the big wedding a year later. My friends would be shocked if they knew we paid only 25% of the cost. (But not really shocked because they know my thrifty self. Haha.) Only downside is they don’t match/fit together so I wear them on separate hands. The diamonds aren’t big but I love the way the band looks like a crown from side view. We will upgrade one day when we’re rolling in dough 😄 ETA: I realize some people think it’s crass to discuss money & how much things cost. I always stress getting a deal because most of my stuff looks expensive but I don’t believe in spending a lot of money on material things, & I always tell my friends my tricks for how to save. I also openly discuss salaries & negotiating because I believe women deserve to know what their work is truly worth and push for that. *Just my two cents on why I think it’s ok to talk freely about money—most of the time.
@mindyb2019 it was also in Punta Cana!! At the Hard Rock Hotel.. we were there for a concert series with friends called “One Big Holiday”. He was soooooo nervous that he ended up proposing in the hotel right after we got into the room 😂 i was sitting on the bed and We were looking at a map of the resort. He pointed out the wedding planning spot and then got down on one knee! It was so sweet and so perfect, because he is not one one to be center of attention! We are going into Philly this weekend for a fancy dinner and staying overnight!

@kpearse99 lol thats awesome. What a small world. Mine was at a hotel just down from the Hard Rock Hotel lol and I have actually been in that hotel before. Did you play the mini golf they had outside? We did and it was fun. My DH was soooo nervous at the time too when he proposed. 😆 aww that sounds soo sweet. ❤️ That’s awesome your going into Philly for the weekend. A fancy dinner and staying over night sounds like a good anniversary. He better get you some flowers lol 🌹🌹🌺🌸 I hope you Have a great Anniversary!!
@photographerwife Mine are also morganite and rose gold. Mine is a natural morganite, not heat treated so it's more purple, less orange. I wanted a stone I was absolutely sure was conflict free - My stone came from North carolina! Lol, I think it's safe. My ring was designed by my husband, working with a jeweler. I told him I wanted morganite and rose gold, and a bezel set. I remembered my mom's ring scratching me like crazy when I was a kid and HATED it, so I didn't want to do that to our kids.
The proof from the jeweler to show the wedding band.
@keikilove I'm a financial advisor. I talk to people about money all day long - then sometimes I forget it's weird and talk about it in social contexts. "So, what do you think your monthly necessary vs discretionary spending is?" *awkward look from friends I am out to dinner with*
@saladflambe mention of a child in the spoiler, but a funny story from a friend
A friend lost hers for over a year too! She found it in their toddler's bedroom. Side eye was given to the little guy. "Did you take mommy's rings?"
@whatsbumpinpumpkin that’s gorgeous! I love the bezel setting too! I bet it stays cleaner longer that way. I’m not sure about my stone tbh, but it is pink irl. The cage underneath makes it photograph more orange since they’re slightly clear!
This is my favorite kind of thread. I’m a wedding photographer part time and oohing over everyone’s jewelry and wedding stories! 💕
Kinda hard to see all of them... they’re infinity rings from Blue Nile, which are supposedly conflict-free. I have an infinity ring from Tiffany that DH gave me like a year before we got engaged. He threw the box to me instead of handing it to me so that I didn’t think he was proposing. He did get down on one knee (a few months after knee surgery) to propose when the time came. I do wear the engagement ring towards the inside since it moves less that way. Sorry they’re dirty.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
My rings! H sold his truck in order to buy them so I had a heads up, but he still managed to surprise me. He had also taken me ring shopping in order to get an idea of what I liked. Trying them on I completely changed my mind for what I thought I wanted! Its rose gold on the outside and the inside band is white gold. I love the mix! Also including a side shot to try to show the inside details. Taking these pictures I realize I need to take them in for a cleaning!

i'm super late to the party but I have a story....
@mvt2003 coming from someone who accidentally knocked her engagement ring into the garbage disposal and didn't realize it until AFTER I turned it on (makes a terrible noise btw) I would keep them farrrr away from the sink. Never did I ever think i'd do something so dumb (still don't know how I did it) but alas, such is life. Also mad I didn't have insurance on it!
I destroyed my engagement ring a month before we got married so I just wear my wedding band now, never got to wear them together and it makes me v sad. I miss it so much. My H was there when it happened and I was extremely hysterical and upset and he was amazing at consoling me and didn't get mad. I was like wow i'm glad i'm marrying him. I try to take very good care of my band now. They are both rose gold and the E ring had white gold as well. I picked out my engagement ring (we didn't have a traditional proposal, I had been engaged before so the proposal didn't matter much to me, we just decided to get married)
@konoha I have a similar story except my engagement ring didn't fall into the garbage disposal but one of the bathroom sinks. I was taking my ring off so I could clean the sink and counter and it slipped out of my hands. I couldn't catch it before it fell down the drain. DH opened the pipes below the sink to fish it out. My hero! He told me to either keep it on or not take it off right over the sink in the future. I felt bad that he had to spend the time to fish it out but I was very grateful.

@inthewoods23 oh my gosh!! that is my fear with my wedding band, I've had it slip out of my hands too by the sink so I really gotta be careful!! That's great he was able to get it for you!! I wouldn't have thought it could've been found but I've heard stories like that before! Its those things that remind us how grateful we are for the men in our lives I wish I didn't turn my disposal on before I realized it was missing, that was horrifying reaching my hand in there and pulling out my mangled ring. Probably should've tried harder to find the diamonds but I was so upset and didn't think they'd still be in the pipes and I couldn't feel them in the disposal. rip.
Ok @konoha you've convinced me, I am NEVER leaving my rings on the windowsill by the sink ever again!!!! I'm so sorry that happened to you, your ring was gorgeous!

Re: GTKY Friday 9/6 - rings!
The center diamond was my husband’s grandmothers. He had it set in a halo because I loved that look. I want to change it up because now this style is everywhere. It was unique 11 years ago, now not so much.

@inthewoods23 I love your story and the paper ring!! haha
@jennifer_louise that’s so cool that it’s his moms ring. I’m not a big jewelry person either but I do like my rings. do you wear it or just sometimes?
@b_1029 I love your ring and I love those thin bands where the diamonds go all around. None looked right with my engagement ring
@mvt2003 the meaning behind your rings warms my heart. That’s so special that you have that with you all of the time.
@kpearse99 look at that rock!!
@photographerwife oh my gosh I’m obsessed with your rings. I know I said above I like simple things but I have heart eyes for those!
@bluetickgal yes to the classic rings!! I love it!
I lost them for a full year, also
Here's the pic I took after I found them again - strangely, on our 5th anniversary in a robe i never wear...so weird

Mine doesn’t have a romantic story; like my wedding dress, I insisted on getting a deal. We will upgrade one day when we’re rolling in dough 😄
ETA: I realize some people think it’s crass to discuss money & how much things cost.
We are going into Philly this weekend for a fancy dinner and staying overnight!
@bows22 it’s beautiful!! ♥️♥️
