For the last 2 days my fingers have been a little puffy. They feel like little sausages. I'm going to check my BP...my BP has always been perfect prior to and during pregnancy so far. I'm also drinking plenty of water in attempts to avoid headaches.
@ivyphotoop, some swelling is normal in pregnancy and will increase through out. To give an idea what to watch for, my mom had pre-eclampsia with my sister. She gained 10lbs in a week, all swelling.
I have a new symptom to add to my list...my chest that had almost stopped hurting is painful and swollen again. I think I might have to give in and get a nursing bra sooner than I wanted.
Anyone else super hormonal? I haven’t had this till now but I’m literally crying all day for nothing. I think because I’m super tired today but I’m so embarrassed! For lunch I went to get a sandwich and was just crying when she asked if I wanted it toasted, yes please
but has anyone experienced lightning crotch? I think I had it a few weeks back. I was feeling it along my pelvic floor and yesterday it was my rectum. It was so painful like a stabbing feeling on and off. It happened out of the blue. Lasted maybe 5-10 minutes, then went away when I went to lay down on my side.
@Xstatic3333 Constant headaches are not fun. Especially when the traditional methods like drinking extra water don't do anything.
Has anyone experienced pain in their upper abdomen? Pain the entire way under their ribs? It seems to only happen in the afternoon and its not around when I eat or exercise. I'm going to check with the midwife, but thought I would ask here too.
Haven't had any lightning crotch but the past few days my bladder has gone into overdrive. I cannot seem to go more than a couple hours without a trip to the restroom (and that's including at night when I should be sleeping, 3-4 times I'm woken up by my bladder) it is freaking exhausting! I'm getting ready to just throw caution to the wind and get me some Depends. The latest commercial I saw shows they now come in more feminine options 😅😅
Edit: spelling
Also, @ponyoisfun I have also noticed that, only after I've eaten a little too much and it's not only painful but my upper abdomen feels hard. It goes away quickly enough but it's uncomfortable. Google told me it's basically just gas. But I will also be asking my OB at my next appointment. Hope it's nothing serious for either of us! 🤞
@marebear15 what does it feel like? How do you know it's the baby? I'm anxious to feel him but I'm not even sure what to expect. I've read it's similar to gas bubbles?
@marebear15 I felt baby girl kick a lot today. Of course I moved positions and she stopped. It always makes me giggly when I first start feeling them.
@peppyj9 ds felt like popcorn popping super low. This one feels like something is hitting me from the inside. I’m sure I felt it sooner but didn’t realize it. I had a lot of questionable “gas bubbles” the past couple of weeks so hindsight is telling me it was probably them.
I just realized my heart rate is really high, 106 bbp. Prepregnancy it was around 80. I read this is normal in pregnancy, but I wonder if this is what's causing my dizzy spells. Sometimes I feel lightheaded and hot/clammy, and I try to sit down if possible and drink water. BP is still great at 112/70. Also, I think that pregnancy has really exacerbated my plantar fasciitis in my left foot. I've had this before, but never this bad. Ouch! Haven't had lightning crotch yet, and I'm glad because it sounds awful!
@noranorabobora I've struggled with plantar fasciitis for a long time. One thing I've found that helps keep it in check for me is toe yoga. It's a kind of stretch of the toes and feet/massage that helps keep my feet from getting too enflamed. You should be able to search for it on YouTube!
@marebear15, there is only ONE thing that makes that feeling!
@peppyj9, with DD the first movement I felt was a light ZING to my bladder. Just a quick little sensation like someone tapping it. With DS1, I felt the popping sensation everyone talks about. With THIS baby, I get the pings to my bladder, and a weird brushing feeling...it's like someone is lightly running their finger on the inside of my body. It actually took a bit to realize it was baby. Also, I get that hard upper abdomen when I eat, too. It's really uncomfortable and occasionally, my food makes a return visit. I found I can only eat SUPER tiny meals. Drives me nuts with the people trying to force food down my gullet: You're eating for TWO!!!!
@peppyj9 I haven't felt tapping for me it feels like squirming. Like marbles moving around in a bag. I really don't know how to describe it. Plus I'm feeling it mainly on one side where I have never felt gas bubbles before, so i was pretty sure after the 3rd or 4th time
@Xstatic3333 I mentioned the sciatic pain to my OB last appointment and he said I should consider PT, so I think I’m going to go that route. Also tempted to try acupuncture.
Talked to my OB about my sinuses today. Apparently Flonase and Sudafed are on the safe and recommended for sinus issues. Also she said to take Zyrtec over Claritin since it works better.

PTs are so amazing but UGH, the idea of fitting in more appointments (I also have a regular therapist) seems really overwhelming. I could try acupuncture, though. I have an aunt who is a practitioner and I've never tried it, but I'd be open to it for sure.
I'm hot. Like really hot. It's not just the temps outside, I'm hot INSIDE, too. I have the AC turned down 4 degrees cooler than usual at night, and I'm still throwing off the sheet and dying. SO is a freaking heater, too, so I'm like GET OFF ME when he tries to snuggle. Which sucks, because I crave the touch as much as a loathe the heat of it. My poor household is going to freeze when winter gets here....and I'll be comfortable.
@FyreFlyeRush I feel you on the hot part. I'm usually freezing with AC on and now I'm comfortable and outside can be miserable. It's so weird. This is the first year I'm really looking to fall other than halloween. Usually I'm wishing summer to continue but man I'm over this heat. This might be the first winter that I'm not cold!! LOL
@FyreFlyeRush I have the AC down but also a fan blowing directly at me at night hahahaha if I didn't have the fan I wouldn't make it. Maybe that might help?
@c1kc1kpol1cn1k, I have the ceiling fan going all the time. We moved the bed in the winter, and it no longer blows directly on me. I might move it back tomorrow when SO is at his Mom's. Call my dad to come over and help move the tv to the other wall. Then, when SO comes home Friday, "oh, you know...I was just NESTING!"
@FyreFlyeRush yes to being hot! Dh is usually freezing me out at night but I’m sleeping with two fans on, the ac down and a light blanket while he’s all bundled up.
@FyreFlyeRush I was that way with DD, but this time, I'm bundled up in sweatshirts up until I go to bed, then I get hot. It's so hard to figure out what I'm going to feel. Now, we have the ac set really low, because DD is always hot.
Leaky boobs. I had a crusty nip getting home today. Which was odd. So I have the boob a squeeze and sure enough stuff started coming out. Soooo weiiirddd hahaha. I didn’t realize it would happen this soon
I think I finally found my energy. I got back on an iron supplement and it’s been like night and day. I’ve actually had enough energy to cook dinner and I haven’t felt the need to nap the past two days. Fx my gastro issues don’t come back 😬
@leprechaunlady I’ve been taking a stool softener to counteract it so I’m hoping it will make a difference. My 4 year old is appreciating the increase in energy lol.
Fat. Just fat. All my morning sickness is gone, I'm not as tired as I was in my first trimester and I don't feel as crappy as I usually do (I have fibromyalgia). I did go back to work this month (I work at an elementary school) so it took only 2 weeks for me to get sick (yuck) so maybe sometimes peeing a little when I cough too violently? But yeah, mainly fat. My baby bump is out of control and the waddle is strong with this one LOL
I had a visit with my hematologist yesterday because of my clotting disorder, and the blood test revealed I am "slightly" anemic. He said it was super common with twins and is also putting me on an iron supplement. I'm already having constipation issues and I know this will make it worse, but I feel like i'm running on fumes most of the time so I'm thinking risks associated with anemia outweigh my poop problems
Re: August Symptoms
Apparently "constant headache that won't go away" is my newest symptom. Fun!

I've joined the sciatica club. It's so bad. I remember hearing about it on my last BMB but I never experienced before. OMG. Help.
