Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow for 30 week check up

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): yesterday my back was killing but I think baby boy was in a weird position because when I finally went to sleep he did a massive flip and kick and my back pain went away almost immediately

Rants/Raves: not really a true rant but my husband is going to Florida for work today until Friday night and I’m jealous

    Questions: none

GTKY: I’m fine with still doing a check in here if that’s what people want but I’m running low on GTKY questions!

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow with OB for growth check, rhogam shot and 28 wk checkup.

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): pretty good still! Large and a bit emotional.

Rants/Raves: it was ONLY 75 this morning after I dropped DS off at school. It felt so nice on my morning walk, I barely broke a sweat 😂

    Questions:

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG? I dont mind doing it here for another week or so, and give anyone who hasn't been super active but would like to be so they can join the PG a chance for that. But I think eventually it could be moved to the PG.

  • EDD/Weeks + Days: 28+1 (third trimester!)

Baby is the size of a(n): Eggplant

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow for check-up and GD test

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Feeling better the past few days. I went through a few weeks of feeling huge and uncomfortable, and I was having a lot of BH, tightening, etc. Maybe baby had a growth spurt. It has been hard, because I want to work on the nursery and clean/organize the whole house, but most nights all I could do was lay on the couch.

Rants/Raves: Rave - I'm excited to be in the third trimester, and college football officially starts this weekend! MH and I are huge fans, so we are pumped. Also, we are using the three-day weekend to PT our 2-year-old. I've been reading the "Oh Crap" book (thanks, @emeraldcity1214!) and feel very confident.

Questions: I've only gained about 7-8 lbs so far this pregnancy. I wasn't tiny at the beginning (166) but that doesn't seem like much. I know the weight gain range is all over the place and depends on the person, but I'm wondering if I should be concerned.

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG? If I'm in the PG, I'm OK without the weekly check-ins. But I do find them helpful. Even if I'm not able to check until later in the week and I feel like it's too late for me to post, I still love reading everyone's updates.
  • EDD/Weeks + Days: Nov 8th / 29w + 3d (aka no mans land)

Baby is the size of a(n): Butternut Squash?

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 3rdTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Baby Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Next Tuesday (I love being in the 3rd tri. So much closer to the end, having an appointment every other week feels so nice for checking on everything.  My mind doesn't play as many weird what is wrong games right now)

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Overall decent.  Moody at times, back aches and hearthburn lead my days.

Rants/Raves: Disney is 9 days.  I am pumped.

Questions: Has anyone ever developed an allergy to something while pregnant?  I used to be able to eat dairy and now some forms of it (the delicious kind like mac and cheese, ice cream and milk chocolate) make my throat close up a bit.  My dr said it is just hormones and that potentially it will go away once I am done being pregnant and nursing.

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG? I am for continuing here and keeping the PG a bit more free flow-y.

Baby is the size of a(n): new england cotton tail rabbit :) (or acorn squash)

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Had my 30 week check in this morning, next up is my 32 week growth scan and 32 week check-up (unfortunately with 2 different doctor's offices, so 2 completely separate office visits)

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Good, I get tired easily though. And my 2 year old is in the phase of testing boundaries and it's all I can do not to just cave and let her run wild. I've been craving sweet things, but luckily for the most part if I have just like one cookie or piece of candy it gets rid of that. I'm trying to start eating a bit healthier, last week it was all crap food and I felt like crap by the end of the week due to it.

Rants/Raves: It rained for a solid 2 hours yesterday and I loved every minute of it! It's been so hot and dry, we really needed it.

    Questions: None right now

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG? I think we probably should for now at least, and then can switch to doing it on the PG thread.
  • EDD/Weeks + Days: 30+1, 11/3

Baby is the size of a(n): Brie en Brioche... now I really want like a big cheese and bread plate.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM, DS is 2

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow for a regular appointment

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Huge, tired. Getting pizza tonight so pretty pumped for that. And I was craving a sundae yesterday and made MH go get me one. It was a premade blue bunny one from the grocery store, but it still tasted good.

Rants/Raves: My rave is just the pizza I am going to eat later.. lol. No rants other than catching up on emails after vacation always hurts. I feel like all I've done today is reply to emails from last week.

    Questions:

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG?
I say we keep it here for a couple weeks and let the PG get going and everyone invited and then move it over. We can also do it more low-key than this if we want, without the guided prompts, or we can drop it altogether.

@kj17-2 I've been worried about weight gain, too. I've only gained about 11-12 pounds total (started at 135). My doctor wasn't worried last appointment but she wants to see that I've gained some by my next appointment. I am definitely eating plenty but I get full easily and am also exercising so I think I need to eat more often. Also, we are big college football fans, too! My husband went to Clemson and we were actually at the National Championship in Tampa when they won a couple of years ago. We couldn't swing the trip to California last year.

    Upcoming Appointments:
    9/6 for regular follow up

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Starting to have some trouble sleeping at night. I feel like a bad person bc I've started not really enjoying kicks anymore. Sometimes they are a little jarring.

Rants/Raves: I talked to my insurance company today and found out it is super easy to order a breast pump. Now I just have to pick which one I want!

    Questions: None currently.

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG? I like keeping it here a little longer...I am probably irrationally worried that someone will get left out of the group.
  • @runningfortwo81 my husband also went to Clemson as well! We went back last season for a football game for the first time since he left back in '08! He loved taking our son to a game and seeing how much had changed in 10 years!

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday for a quick cervical ultrasound and then Sept. 6th for a growth scan and regular appointment.

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): BLEHHHH - emotional wreck, drained, swollen feet...it's glamorous over here!

Rants/Raves: Rave: I only had to put on a bra once this weekend. Rant: 40 weeks is a long ass time. The psychological marathon part is starting to get me.

    Questions: None currently

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG?
I'm cool either way! I wouldn't want anyone to feel left out.
  • Hiiii! I’ve been offline for weeks and weeks due to a wild work travel schedule, but I’m ba-ack! Having tons of fun catching up on all of your updates.

EDD/Weeks + Days: 27+5 due Nov 20 (but OB says they will induce me at 39 weeks due to preeclampsia risk in IVF pregnancies.

Baby is the size of a(n): romaine, maybe? I can never keep it straight because all of the apps say something different. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    FTM/STM/TTM+: first timer!!

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: OB next week, and every two weeks for the next little while. I have to go back for a 32 week ultrasound because of a marginal cord insertion discovered at the anatomy scan. Because we’re an IVF first pregnancy, we’re getting a lot of extra attention, but I’m not complaining!!

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Some Braxton Hicks, which are super annoying! Mad cravings for tomato sandwiches and alllll the fruit.

Rants/Raves: I’m really struggling to make it through the work day without a nap. I spent most of today researching and planning my mat leave!

    Questions: I got nothing!

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG? I’m not in the PG yet. I like being able to check in here... but I’m down with whatever the group wants to do!
  • @megmac2010 hi! Missed seeing you around here! I found out at my anatomy scan I have a velamentous cord insertion. The extra monitoring is nice, but theres so many scary stuff out there about it! I'm so ready for baby to get here and have it behind me. I go in tomorrow for a growth scan (28 weeks) and I'm hoping baby is still on course like she was 5 weeks ago!

  • Hey everyone!  I've been offline for a while as I had a bunch of family visiting, and my shower last Saturday!  Convinced my in-laws who are still here to go shopping and the movies for a day so I can have some me-time:)

    EDD/Weeks + Days: 30+2 --- can't believe I'm in the 30s now!

Baby is the size of a(n): zucchini

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Me again, with the long term hospital stay!  The last 2 nights I ended up spending in the L&D floor (I'm staying on a separate much more chill floor) as I was having a lot of pelvic pressure/cramps.  I thought it was contractions but it seems not - more likely the baby is just growing and putting pressure on my cerclage

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms):  Pain has lessened today and I'm back on my normal floor in my normal room so I feel much better.  I never thought I'd be happy to be back in my hospital room!  But it has all my stuff, I've decorated a bit (flowers, wall art, books, mini-fridge), and feels like at least a temporary home

Rants/Raves: I'm really glad I was able to have a (small-ish) baby shower here in the hospital.  All the hospital staff knew about it - most of them know me now - and they were all so excited.  One of the nurses' sister is a hairdresser and she came in the morning and gave me a blowout.  Its just so nice, and I feel loved and special.

    Questions: Nothing!

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG? \ I'm not in the PG yet either - maybe we have this for another week or so at least so people who aren't able to check in daily can get caught up and decide to join if they want?

Upcoming Appointments: in two weeks, 28 week appt and gd test

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Achey!  I had a stiff neck this weekend so that didn't help much.  Otherwise, I've been getting full very easily and lots of heartburn.

Rants/Raves:  The weather is cool and Fall-like this week and I couldn't be happier about it!

    Questions: none

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG?
    I'm up for whatever!
  • EDD/Weeks + Days: 29+1 (11/10)

Baby is the size of a(n): Acorn Squash apparently...

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: baby boy

Upcoming Appointments: 9/4 for my 30 week.

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): pretty good, generally speaking. My sciatica is killing me though last evening and today. Down into my calf, and maybe TMI, but last night it was so bad my lady bits hurt from it. Over all, a lot of my stresses have past and I can focus on getting ready for baby to be here!

Rants/Raves: RAVES: DD is *fingers crossed* potty trained finally! Still not with bowel movements, but I am just elated that she pees in the potty now. And, she started pre-school yesterday! The nursery got painted last week and looks AMAZING so I can't wait to start putting it together this weekend. Also I have a pre-natal massage Saturday, one with the hole cut out for my bump, and I am pumped about it.

RANT: work is still stressful. One of those situations where you just feel stuck. Also, see the sciatica problem.

Questions: Am I a nutcase if I start packing, or at least planning, my hospital bag? And what kind of clothes do you all pack in it? Last time I didn't really think about it other than an outfit to go home so I ended up wearing a hospital gown for most of my stay which kind of sucked. I want to be better prepared to feel like a human this time.

GTKY: opinion question: do we still want a weekly check in on here now that we’ve got the PG? I'm with everyone else, maybe another week or so.
  • @dani_0921 - I usually pack socks and a few nighties plus a cute going home dress.  I had 2 cute night gowns that I wore so I could get out of the hospital gowns and feel a little more human.  Plus cheap flip flops for going to the bathroom.  That being said it was summer....maybe I'll pack some jeans and a flowy top this time for leaving the hospital.
  • @gumby22c you’d be having more monitoring than I am with a velamentous insertion. Are they planning a c-section or are you hoping to deliver vaginally?

I was super nervous at first, but my OB really didn’t seemed concerned. They let me go 12 weeks between ultrasounds. If growth isn’t looking good at 32, I’ll go back at 36.

But I agree! I just want this baby to be here! Time is going by so slowly!
  • @megmac2010 yes I'm getting ultrasounds every 2-5 weeks right now between seeing MFM and OB. My OB isn't completely ruling out vaginal birth, but the ultrasound today showed the vessels are pretty superficial which makes things fragile. She wants to see what MFM recommends in 2 weeks after I have another u/s and we'll go from there.

I admit I swing between feeling at peace that everything will work out ok and being absolutely terrified of this diagnosis. For now baby is growing well so that's good! I'm just trying to hold on to that and take it one appt at a time. I'll definitely be induced/csection by 39 weeks though, if not sooner depending on how the coming weeks go.

  • @gumby22c Clemson is such a fun team to watch! I went to NC State but I really don't mind pulling for the Tigers because I like their coach and their team so much. He has had such a good balance of discipline and having a good time!
  • @dani_0921 not crazy at all to start planning! I have what I’ll bring planned out in my head and will start to put stuff together after 30 weeks.  Those gowns suck and are the worst fabric and I just like having my own stuff.  Last time I wore leggings and a flowy top or tank with a bathrobe over it.  I found leggings to be the most comfortable since they held the lovely disposable underwear in place and made it feel less bulky!

My feet didn’t fit in shoes from all the fluids so I was happy to have a few pairs of grippy bottom socks and flip flops.
  • I feel like I am a little too late in the week to respond to this since it is a weekly thing. It sounds like the general consensus is that this should still be a weekly thing, so I had questions for the next time around so that I can respond properly:

    * What is GTKY?
    * Is PG 'private group'...and, if so, is that the November 2019 group?
    * To confirm, does 'Team Green' mean we aren't  finding out the gender?

    TIA! 😄
  • @SunnySkiesToday - You can always respond to anything there is never a cut off day/time.  Some people like to wait until later in the week so they can be the higher week when they post (Mine is tomorrrow.  COME ON 30 WEEKS!)

GTKY - is Getting to know you
PG - Private Group - I believe we are renamed Incoming Turkeys for the PG
Team Green - Is either not finding out gender or not sharing with anyone. I think sometimes it also means girl/boy twin set but I could be wrong on that.

The below is my cheat sheet when I see the acronyms I am not familiar with.  It really is a whole other language :)

  • @Dancer688 Thank you so much for all of the helpful info and the link!! You and I must have the same due date, btw. I hit 30 weeks yesterday (Friday), too! (I'm due November 9.)

I will try to fill out my weekly update later this morning. 🙂
  • @SunnySkiesToday - Due Date Buddies!! Although I am the 8th.  Not that it means anything haha I am fingers crossing for around Halloween.  This baby is biggggg and I can't imagine making it 10 more weeks.
  • EDD/Weeks + Days: 9 weeks and 5 (or 6) days from now

Baby is the size of a(n): zucchini

     FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: GREEN

Upcoming Appointments: Ultrasound on Tuesday--so excited!

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): The last few weeks have been a little rough, but I had a reprieve from the heartburn/acid reflux/queasiness today, which was wonderful! I can handle the other symptoms pretty easily, they arent so bad. :)

Rants/Raves: Mmm, not sure what to say offhand. I might think of something later.

Questions: Has anyone else felt or heard something, like a pop, that happened just over your ribcage? I did last night as I was laying back to go to sleep, my left ab muscles straining to let me down slowly instead of just falling over into bed. I'm hoping that pop wasn't the abdominal muscles splitting, like I read can happen during pregnancy, but there is currently no pain or anything feeling amiss since that pop.

GTKY: opinion question: I feel too new here to cast a vote, but off the record, I currently like the idea of a weekly check-in. It's good, mentally, to write it all down and think about where things are at. I like the question prompts.
  • @Dancer688 Oh! Yes, I should have mentioned that based on my app (and the settings tailored to me such as a cycle length of only 27 days, not 28), I am supposed to be due Nov. 8th, but after my first OB visit and ultrasound, my OB assigned me a due date of November 9th.

I think we still count as due date buddies. 😉
