Thanks everyone! Yeah I am always proud to hear of other moms carrying added protection. I agree @bg122785, crazies are getting out of control now a days.
This is my “WTF” everyday in Atlanta. Just moved here from DC a year ago and the public transport etiquette is severely lacking.
People *constantly* sit on the outside seat and leave the inside seat open (on trains and busses). Even when there’s a full car and people otherwise have to stand. I regularly ask them to let me sit, and people regularly just slide their legs out so that I can crawl over them into the seat on the inside. Even in these seats, where as you can see, there’s about 8 inches of space for the crawling and a pole blocking the upper body from maneuvering (see pic, with limited space highlighted in yellow).
Yesterday I even said “It’s going to be difficult to squeeze my pregnant body and purse in to get to that hole.” And I fumbled mightily but got there. She said “I didn’t realize you were pregnant.” But you saw that I was standard adult human sized and not a miniature sized elf creature, yes? WTF is wrong with people.
@um_thor Oh girl I can relate to the transit struggles!! People in Chicago are so rude and I always complain about those people who refuse to stand up to let people im/out of the inside seats. I'm a jerk and go out of my way to hit them with my bag when they do it. Especially when the car is empty enough they have ample room to stand up.
Yesssss, @babyroma seriously!! I moved from DC where the etiquette was way better overall, and where it wasn’t, I assumed they were from out of town. I have way too little patience for it here 😂
