Ooh I’ve got one. I told my boss about my pregnancy on Monday and apparently he felt it was HIS news to share with his boss, our GM, even though I told him that I was planning to tell her myself. Thanks, boss. 🙄

She came up to me today and really sweet and excited about it so that was nice. I just felt like he was a little out of bounds for sharing such personal news about someone else!

@nhh11 It’s great to hear your GM is happy and excited for you, but I totally understand your position. What is with people thinking it’s okay to share others’ news?!! Especially when you clearly stated that you were going to tell her yourself!!

@nhh11 I sympathize with you it’s ridiculous I told my boss early because I work outside in the Florida heat with her horses and specified that is why I was telling her and wasn’t announcing until late in the first trimester but she still felt the need to tell her whole family all of whom in turn felt comfortable enough to approach me about it including her 5 and 7 year old kids😡

On this topic my WTF is my Dad. My half sister told me over the phone yesterday that my Dad told my whole family (20-30 people) on July 4th (when I was like 8 weeks) that it's a secret and they shouldn't tell anyone, but that I'm pregnant. All I could do was laugh! Seriously?! Knew it was a secret and said so while telling errrrrrybody... I can't even be mad though- he still can't life without my mom. At least I was able to warn my other sister who has been TTC not to tell Dad until she wants the whole family to know.

@craftywitch My dad is horrible at keeping secrets and even he managed not to tell family before we gave him the go-ahead. It probably helps that they live out-of-province and he doesn't really talk to them much. I also gave him permission to tell his coworkers since they don't know me or my husband and he decided to tell random cashiers, etc. Maybe offer those as suggestions to your stepsister as well, if you think she would be ok with it.

I can’t remember the last time anyone in our house was sick and now all of a sudden, days before school starts, both kids have colds and I have a sore throat. WTF. We were so close. 😩

My WTF Wednesday is: why do people insist on holding impromptu meetings that last 4 HOURS long? Seriously, what started as a quick get together turned into a 4 hour long crap show that resolved nothing. I get that some of my coworkers come in later in the day (around 10am) and don’t take breaks until 2 or 3. But I come in at 7:30, so keeping me in an unplanned meeting from 10-2 with no breaks at all is ridiculous. I need to eat, pee, take a walk (I haven’t told work I’m pregnant yet but I think these are things everyone needs) and WORK! So now I’m pissed off, tired, starving, and have a migraine from not eating.

@nhh11 yeah i told "Susie" from hr i needed fmla paperwork. And then the next week an old friend from another department was telling me she heard i was pregnant, and that she is too. I was like "oh, whos spreading rumors? Lol" and she was like "susie from hr told me." And while im sure their convo was like "hey im pregnant! - oh so is Robyn!" I was kinda like wtf, she works in hr, thats very unprofessional! It wasnt a big secret or anything but i was mad.

That is so messed up!! Especially for an HR professional who should be used to using discretion.

I know it's not Wednesday anymore but I forgot to post this yesterday and it's still going on today.
There is some random noise in my office that sounds like somebody is using a jigsaw! It seems to come from various areas too and nobody's doing construction work that I can tell. It's loud, happens at random intervals for varying lengths of time and it makes me absolutely crazy!

i have no idea. I walked by one of the stairwells earlier and there was a similar noise coming from there, but I don't sit close to either of the sets of stairs. It's like the cicadas of the office world haha.

Everything is driving me crazy. My WTF today: this guy at work emailed and asked me to review something by 8/22. He IMs me today (8/14) asking if I’ve reviewed it yet.

Me: “I haven’t yet. Do you need a response sooner than 8/22?”
Him: “yes”.
Me: “Your email specifically said 8/22”
Him:
Me: “...When do you need it...?”
Him: “before 8/22”
Me: “ok in future emails, can you be more clear about your deadline because that’s the date I’m going by.”

He’s lucky I didn’t freak out on him. SIGH. 🙄🙄🙄

So we had a crazy person (I'm assuming) try to break into our house this morning at 5am! Police were called but they didn't catch the person. Guess it's good that I'm always armed.
