Re: August Symptoms

  • I can add low blood pressure to my list of symptoms. I used to only feel dizzy and weak after I didn't get enough water the previous day, but now it's like 2-3 times a week. I took my blood pressure this morning and it was 80/60  :#

  • I’ve recently noticed how much darker my nipples have gotten! I remember last time by the end they were like super dark brown. I’m just waiting for my linea negra and dark skin patches to show up too lol
  • hello august! so far nothing new *crosses fingers*
  • Boobs are still getting bigger. Still haven't bought new bras. My boobs now hate me. Headaches and dizziness are the main symptoms right now though.

  • My chest is still tingling and sore, but it's fading. With DD and DS1, both times faded completely right at 16w. I'd say I'm on track for that. Nausea is still coming and going. Not like HG I had with DS1, but naggingly persistent. Headaches, but that could be allergies. They've awful this summer.

And, heartburn like crazy lately. So, hairy baby it is. If you could see my SO's hair, this wouldn't surprise you. It's thick, and he's got TONS of it. New craving...anything that smells garlicky...I want garlic bread, Italian food, Chinese food, just anything with a lot of garlic in it....that oughta go great with my heartburn!
  • @FyreFlyeRush You made me hungry lol I LOVE all of those foods right now too. In all seriousness, I’m sorry you’re still dealing with nausea! My DD had tons of hair too and I think I had heartburn lol. I do with this one too, so I’m curious to see!
  • +1 for the heartburn club! I’ve been increasing the amount of tums I use daily so I’ll be adding in Zantac very soon.
  • Heartburnnnnn!
  • @kbrown2385 Tums don't really do anything and can make heartburn worse. I would just go with the zantac honestly.
  • I feel like my nausea is just getting worse instead of better. Anyone else in the same boat? I wake up every morning dry heaving and this morning I actually threw up. I haven’t at all this pregnancy so it’s kind of annoying lol.
  • @kbrown2385 yes for me about the nausea. But it was my sinuses. If I keep them under control, I don't throw up....I'm not sure if that helps you but know you aren't alone!
  • @biolprof it’s nice to know others are having issues lol. Also, I took your advice and started taking Zantac before dinner and I’ve been able
to avoid my daily evening heartburn.
  • I've got these random bumps that are either bug bites or some type of rash. It's on my arms and legs. It's driving me nuts right now. It's not itchy all the time, but when it gets itchy it's insane. Trying to decide if I go see a dermatologist or my OB or if I just wait it out.
  • @kbrown2385 when I was around your weeks pregnant I was definitely starting up nausea again and morning drive heaving. I am better now!

@persnikkedy I would get that checked out

for me heartburn is here but not with a vengeance yet. I started getting the sciatic pain on my left side and definitely feeling the pressure after long walks or activity
  • @persnickity I think it's best to get it checked too.
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k @biolprof I'm calling Monday morning to see where I can get in the fastest. It's spread to my mouth at this point, so I'm thinking it's more than bug bites.

Lower back pain. It's gotten bad enough I have to wear my old lady (SAS) sandals when I cook or do the dishes because they have a really thick and well padded sole.

OH, and i seem to have lost my ability to tell when I'm hungry until I suddenly have a near migraine level raging headache and heavy nausea. After a couple of hours of that, my stomach growls, I eat, and the headache and nausea disappear.... Low blood sugar?  Could the BP meds be suppressing my appetite
  • @FyreFlyeRush I find that I don't always recognize that I'm hungry either. As soon as I start to get a headache or get hangry, I eat something.
  • Constipation again. Ugh. Frustrating. But I just need to up my water intake. Maybe have a cup of coffee which isn’t my favorite either. Lol

  • @stashattack yeah I hate the constipation but it's way better for me once I stopped progesterone! For caffeine you could add black tea if you don't like coffee. It has half the caffeine.
  • @biolprof I should have taken my black tea with me on vacation. Maybe I'll pick up some back at target when I make my run. My constipation has been on and off and directly tided to how much water I've been taking in. LOL

  • Like a few others, my main issue is headaches right now.  Tylenol is also worthless IMO.
  • Tylenol IS worthless, I don't even bother taking it en I get a headache, which thankfully isn't too often. I wake up every morning with weird pulling pains in my left side which I'm guessing is RLP from all my tossing and turning. It goes away as soon as I get up and start walking around so it's not too terrible. Also, the past week or so my dreams have gotten really crazy. Like where does my mind come up with this stuff?
  • I had another dizzy spell this morning. My BP dropped so low I couldn't even get my monitor to pick it up, and I nearly passed out while sitting up. Laying down seemed to help.
I asked my OB about this yesterday, and he said just to keep up the water intake, and lay down when I need to. They don't give meds or anything to raise BP because usually people get the opposite problem in 3rd tri.
  • @marebear15 that's scary! Do you notice it now at certain times of day? I'd be nervous about driving and getting a dizzy spell. I have a few episodes of being dizzy now and then, but mainly first thing in the morning.
  • @persnickity - It only happens in the mornings. My BP has always been on the low end, but I'm taking a betablocker for my heart condition which makes it lower, and I take that at night, so that's probably not helping things. And then this is just the few weeks where BP is usually a little lower because of all the additional blood vessels our bodies are making.
I'm just going to try to keep up on my salts and water intake and hopefully drink 100 oz a day. I'm only at 80 oz, so I still have a ways to go. Thankfully I don't have to drive in the mornings. DH and I carpool since we work on the same campus.
  • @marebear15 my friend had an issue with dizziness while she wasn’t pregnant with her son and it’s continued after. I don’t think she ever got any answers unfortunately. Have you talked to your cardiologist about it? Could it be related
to your genetic issue? I can’t remember what it is called 😬.
  • @marebear15 depending on your diet, making sure you eat enough salt can help. I had issues a few years ago with low sodium (confirmed with blood tests) and was told to make sure I eat enough salt. I use it as an excuse to have chips and guac regularly now. 😁

@kbrown2385 - I haven't called my cardiologist yet, I wanted to see what my OB said. I do think it's related to the meds I'm on for my heart, but not the heart condition itself, does that make sense? I'm wondering if I need to switch up meds and try something different for awhile.

@persnickity - I have found myself loading up my food with salt because it doesn't taste salty enough. Maybe that's my body telling me I need more.
  • @marebear15 yes that makes perfect sense. I didn’t see your response above me before I posted. Hopefully they’ve got some ideas to help
    you.
  • @marebear15 I get that way sometimes, obviously for different reasons than you, but I try and eat a few saltine crackers before I get out of bed.  I keep them at my beside and eat a few with water and wait a little bit before I get up.  Hopefully maybe your cardiologist will have some solutions!
  • Lactation/leaking, anyone!? 🙋

Came home from work and took off my bra only to find it was damp. I checked and sure enough...

  • @smount2011 wow already? I’ve seen some crusty stuff at the tip of my nipples and wondered if maybe it was very light leaking that crusted over? Or skin? Who knows!
  • @blackcat01 yep. I just gave one nipple a gentle squeeze and out it came. Ugh...

  • @smount2011 I can’t believe that! I didn’t have that with my first, so I’m curious if I will this time around.
  • I can add shortness of breath now. I think this baby is going to be high and is already pressing on my organs. Lord forbid I eat until a full meal. And the morning stair climb at work is killing me. I work on the 2nd floor, but it's really the third since the 1st entrance is atop a hill. So, a flight to get to the first floor, and a flight to get to the second.
  • @smount2011 - I had a let down sensation at 13 weeks and I've been able to squeeze milk out ever since. No actual leaking though 🤞
  • @FyreFlyeRush I’ve had that for a few weeks. Climbing the stairs at home is exhausting lol.

This. So much this. I've never had my chest tingle in a pregnancy as much as this one.
  • So my husband said something slightly funny today and i went into a laughing fit wheezing and everything. It felt like the funniest thing I ever heard at the time. (Looking back he is not that funny) Then, suddenly I started crying for absolutely no reason. I wasn't sad, just couldn't stop crying. (19 weeks)
