ETA: I don’t think a lot of people are realizing it’s twins lol. I had people call me after seeing it yesterday and were so confused when I started talking about having two 🤣. They clearly didn’t read both signs!
My SO told me about 2 weeks before my missed period. We were at a crawfish boil and I just felt off. Mind you, I wasnt nauseated or sick or anything. I was just off. I had a Shiner Bohemian Black in hand, and took 2 sips. I couldn't stand the sight of the crawfish, which I usually like. I chalked it up to the sinus headache I'd been fighting. But, it was when the dog came up to me and breathed too close to me and I shoved her away at the smell, that he said, "You're pregnant." I rolled my eyes and said "I'm not pregnant. My cycle isn't even due for another 14 days or so, it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to be pregnant". He wouldn't leave it alone. A few days later, my chest got tender. That hadn't been a PMS symptom since my loss in Jan, but it was right on target for my 35 day cycle. I even told my BFF I was excited to have everything go back to normal, and I'd missed my reliable PMS symptoms. But... This sense of smell that showed up at the same time was new....
That night, SOs You're pregnant mantra rang in my ears. The next day, I dug out a digital, took it, and made him wait for the results. "Its positive." I thought he was kidding. He wasn't. I was in total shock. Turns out I had a short cycle, checking in at a text book 28 days. The down side is I've known since about 3w3d, making the first trimester TOTALLY DRAG. I told my close friends and family. I sent my dad a recording of the heartbeat for Father's day. I'm not telling anyone else, except corporate at work. The rest...it's not exactly something I can hide forever. They'll figure it out.
We are waiting to announce publicly until after the anatomy scan since my last pregnancy ended at 17 weeks. We had infertility and did 8 rounds of IVF and were told we would never conceive naturally, so this baby will be a huge surprise to everyone (like it was to us!). I plan to do something similar to this to announce on social media.
We finally got DH’s shirt in. It says “mustang dad warning: if you touch my mustang you’ll get your ass whooped. If you touch my daughter they won’t find the body” 🤣🤣
We did a video reveal with a duo pregnancy and gender reveal!! Here is a picture of the video where we JUST opened the BLUE smoke sticks (the wind on the beach blew it away instantly lol!) and a picture directly after! Best moment of my life!!!
Neither my SO or I have social media accounts, so I created these for my mom, who has been dying to tell her sisterit had the added bonus of all the family members I want to know being notified. She posted them this weekend saying
We finally announced on social media this weekend. I'm an accountant, so went with some CPA humor It feels good to let the secret out. Of course we got some very mixed comments on "wow. GOOD LUCK with two infants." "SAY GOODBYE TO SLEEP" but overall got lots of support and love.
@amb0924 super cute! I get so annoyed with people's comments sometimes. Like yeah, I know sleep is going to be lacking. Yeah, I know it's going to be overwhelming. Just shut up and be happy for us. A simple "congratulations!" or "how exciting!" or "great news!" would suffice. 🤷♀️🙄🙄
