How are you feeling?: generally feeling good but pretty emotional. i’ve been crying a lot this week! i’m also starting to feel the physical burden of carrying more weight and expanding which is a bummer. my bump really popped this week and people on the street can now tell i’m pregnant. sort of changes everything! i can feel the physical aches and pains (back and hips!) as I get bigger and sleeping is still a huge issue!! i just can’t figure out a comfortable way to sleep on my side. i’ve tried a few pregnancy pillows and don’t like them! the search continues... le sigh.
Rants/Raves: i went from wanting no “special” pregnancy attention to suddenly wanting it this week. like wanting my husband to be extra nurturing to me and feeling like i want more people to know on social media. so strange. i’ve been the complete opposite up until now!
Questions: anyone else really “pop” this week or see a big growth in belly?
GTKY: Do you have any pets? (feel free to share pictures!) yes! i love animals. i have a 12 year old tortie cat and a 2 year old golden doodle puppy or is currently asleep on my foot.
@moonriver_and_me I feel like I’ve expanded in the last week. People are definitely noticing and like you I am having tons of back/hip pain. P.S. Your fur babies are adorable 😊
Upcoming Appointments: 8/6 but I may move it up a week. My doctor wants to do biweekly and this appt is 3 weeks from our last.
How are you feeling?: Spotting has stopped for now 🤗 my back/side pain has gotten better too but I had another episode last night where I had to stop cooking dinner and lay down.
Rants/Raves: I’m back to needing an afternoon nap. It’s probably bc I’m sleeping so horribly at night but man by 2pm I can barely stay awake.
Questions: Has anyone felt baby move from the outside? He’s getting stronger but I think concentrating on feeling him from the inside and outside at the same time is keeping me from feeling him from the outside haha
GTKY: Do you have any pets? (feel free to share pictures!) We have 3 bloodhounds and a cat. Our cat is a Himalayan and won’t pose with her dog siblings.
@moonriver_and_me
I *totally* popped this week- I’ve had way more people asking me when I’m due
all of the sudden, and I'm finding it way more difficult to be comfortable in
my clothes and while trying to sleep. Also, YES, I'm totally wanting to
be treated like a pregnant lady. Last night, I took out garbage
because I just couldn't wait for DH to jump on it anymore, and when I got back
inside, he was like, "Hey, you should've let me do that!" I was
a little annoyed, because I had taken multiple trips in and out of the house
and he totally could've helped. Whatever!!
@k_mama91 Now that baby is trying to kick and move more
often, I actually have been able to feel the movement from the outside from time
to time. It was really hard to catch those
movements when it was so sporadic at first!
I’m really glad to hear the spotting and pain tapering off. I hope you keep feeling better!
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink- Ellie the Elephant (read
the name thread, haha)
Baby is the size of a(n): Endive or as heavy as a soda can?
Upcoming Appointments: Next week with OB/GYN for 22 week
appointment check in. Probably will take about 5 minutes 😛
How are you feeling?: Eating in any quantity has been
getting tough. I like to eat a more normal sized dinner, as I’m so used
to it being my biggest meal of the day.
Now with so much growing inside, I’m not able to fit a normal sized meal
without feeling like it’s going to come back up! It’s a little frustrating- I have to
learn to do the tiny meals thing again. As
I said, I’m definitely more “popped” now, and I’m feeling a little of that
off-balance thing kicking in.
Rants/Raves: DD freaked me out yesterday when she stood on
the sofa and hugged me, and then proceeded to act like she was falling over,
making me support her. Normally, I’m
strong and balanced enough to kind of handle it, but with my pregnant body and
hormones, it really shook me up, and I was like, “You can’t do that! My balance isn’t that good right now.” I was okay after a bit, but it scared
me! On a rave, I just got my Lillebaby
delivery! I’m really looking forward to
experimenting with the carriers I picked.
I grabbed an Airflow and a sling style. I’ll give some feedback soon!
Questions: How low (or high) is everybody’s bump sitting this week? I’m still feeling like baby is kicking from
really low in my abdomen, sometimes almost feeling like I’m getting kicked all
the way at the bottom (like right at the cervix!). Is that normal? Baby’s measurements from the anatomy scan
showed her being quite normal in size (between 45-80 percentile), so I know she’s not super tiny. Does it have something to do with me being a STM, or something I might have experienced during labor last time?
GTKY: Do you have any pets? (feel free to share pictures!): We have a wonderful little Bichon-Poodle mix named
Piper that we adopted in December, right before we had to put down our 17 year
old Jack Russell, Nabby. Piper is a
wonderful dog to us, and our daughter loves her so much. Being an adoptee, she’s a little freaked around strangers, but she gets better everyday!
Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan, fetal echocardiogram, and OB tomorrow
How are you feeling?: I was feeling great, but I must have slept in an odd position because I woke up Saturday with the worst stiff neck. Then I got some sort of stomach bug which had me feeling pretty gross all weekend. Neck and stomach are both little better today.
Rants/Raves: I've been productive lately and finished my registry, found a pediatrician, and signed up for a few newborn classes. Still haven't started on the nursery yet, though, because I'm waiting for my husband to get his junk out of the spare room, which could take a while. 🤨
Questions: none right now
GTKY: Do you have any pets? (feel free to share pictures!) I thought you'd never ask😆
Upcoming Appointments: couple weeks. Idk when exactly without looking it up. Seems anticlimactic now that the anatomy scan is over.
How are you feeling?: still sick! ☹ Mostly better if I eat regularly, but I tried going off my B6/doxylamine and was nauseous and gaggy this morning. Guess I'm staying on the B6 a little while longer.
Rants/Raves: I started buying girl sewing patterns because they were on sale! Some are super cute and I'm looking forward to making them, although I've got several other projects I want to finish first.
Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any pets? (feel free to share pictures!) We have one dog: a mixed breed with a lot of German shepherd tendencies. She's my sweetheart and thinks it's her job to protect me and DS (and she's obsessed with him). Balls are her other obsession.
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: not finding out!
Baby is the size of a(n): box of dryer sheets
Upcoming Appointments: next week 7/31 we have anatomy scan!! A little late but hard to find a time both my hubby and I can be there together
How are you feeling?: good in general. Still working out 4-5 times a week. Sleep has been hard... either I have insomnia and can’t fall asleep for 3 hours or i keep waking up with low back/hip pain
Rants/Raves: I popped more this week too! I’m actually excited to get out of the “maybe she is just fatter” looking phase. We also just found out we are moving across the country in a month or so (military). Stressful to get things organized so fast but we are excited it’s happening now instead of closer to baby time! Any D.C./NoVa moms here??
Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any pets? (feel free to share pictures!) 2 Goldens!!
I love seeing everyone’s pets! Almost has me pregnant lady crying bc I love mine so much 😭
@cpk3535 I responded on the other thread but I’ve been kicked in what seems like my bladder. He’s still horizontal from hip to hip but this week I’m getting pokes in my groin which is really odd.
@k_mama91 Yes, that’s what I was feeling, almost like little pokes and jabs to the vagina from the inside! Some had a little more painful feel, some just had a strange, almost UTI pressure feel. Again, I feel bad that I didn’t take more notes about what happened during DD’s pregnancy- I feel like I completely forgot all of these symptoms and only remember the end! To be fair, I was on another epilepsy medication (among other things) that gave me a really foggy brain and bad memory retention, but still...stupid medicine!
Mostly ok. A little nausea here and there. ALWAYS hungry or tummy growling. Having issues with 💩 a bit and today I was really dragging and tired.
Rants/Raves:
I'm looking for a job right now and I feel I've been obviously showing for weeks so hiding it now is really tough. Irritated at potty training my 3 yo but trying to be positive!
Questions:
I'm stumped on a monitor for the new babe. We have an Avent one that works great but I think I want a new one that I can have 2 cameras for.
GTKY: Do you have any pets? (feel free to share pictures!) we have a dog named Franny. She's ~7, a rescue and simultaneously so loving and exceedingly annoying 🤣
Everyone's pets and (and children featured in the photos) are so cute! 😍 I had a smooth anatomy scan and fetal echocardiogram today. I have literally spent years worrying that my prescription medication would possibly cause a heart defect in any baby I tried to conceive, so hearing that her heart appears perfectly healthy was a huge relief and I'm so grateful.
How are you feeling?: feel good. Exercise has been hard. This morning DH and I went on a 3 mile run, and I felt pretty cruddy. Going from marathons to struggling over 3 miles is pretty disappointing 😪
Rants/Raves: Thank goodness the heat has finally broken a bit here in NYC
Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any pets? (feel free to share pictures!) two kitties 🐱 my username is their names. This is Zooey trying to pack herself in my gym bag:
And this is Penny (who has extra toes) cuddling with my pregnant belly:
@candileti I found out yesterday that the monitor we chose specifically because it could have additional cameras added to it has been discontinued since we bought it 2 years ago, and asked my other mom-friends what they recommended. I've seen a lot of positive recommendations for the Summer Infant Panoramic, the DBPower, and Motorola.
I decided to reschedule my appt from the 7th to the 1st. It was originally 3 weeks from our last and he wanted to see me in 2 anyway. I woke up this morning with abdominal tenderness. I had a nice few days break and hope I’m wrong but this usually means bleeding and spotting is coming.
Baby is the size of a(n): Paper airplane or a banana
Upcoming Appointments: We had our ultrasound on Monday and have our next doctor appointment on 8/6
How are you feeling?: The nauseousness has gone away finally, but in it's place has come heart burn/ reflux which at times makes me feel like I'm going to throw up as well. At least Zantac helps with that, but it's random times when it'll decide to hit so I'm playing catch up with the medicine rather than taking it all the time.
Also, these emotions/hormones are crazy. Everything and anything is making me tear up and cry. Rants/Raves: This little one is already SUPER low, I appreciate still being able to breathe, but I kinda hope he moves up or later on this is going to be rough.
Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any pets? (feel free to share pictures!) We don't have pets, but my brother who lives in the next town over has a dog that we dog sit at least once a month.
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: We found out last night with our kiddos, I'll share those pics below.
I was cracking up when I saw what was on the paper in the envelope we gave the bakery:
How’s everybody feeling? It’s going to be screaming hot this week (no wind, dry 104 for two days predicted), so I’m just going to try to stay cool and hydrated as best I can. I’ve kept up with my yoga, and luckily my husband has been getting more active on yoga and cardio, too, out of frustration with some sympathy pregnancy weight gain. I’m definitely feeling more of a volleyball sized uterine bump going, so it interferes a bit with exercises, but not bad!
Maybe TMI, but how’s everybody’s pregnancy sex life going? We’ve actually been having a pretty good time (when time allows of course)! Everything’s feeling healthy down there right now for the most part- no major issues.
I hope you all have lovely weekends- stay cool and comfy ❤️😊
@cpk3535 I'll admit it's rough for me. It really hurts, and has really hurt, since early 1st trimester. Fortunately my husband totally gets it. I try my best but it's not the same any more, but I remind myself it's only temporary.
@cpk3535 I threw out modesty about 6 months ago.. All I want to do is have sex but we’ve refrained since my last bleed. I cannot wait to ask about this Thursday even though I’m sure the answer is “No”.
@k_mama91Ugh, that’s miserable! As if the spotting isn’t bad enough! 😛
@bookworm492 I wonder if you’re feeling pain during sex due to the position of the baby. I’ve been watching your bump on the pictures not changing much- is it possible baby’s just super low, due to a tilted uterus or something?
@cpk3535 could be! I'm going to ask about my lack of weight gain (I'm only up 3 pounds overall) and positioning at my visit on Thursday. My mom, when she was pregnant with me, said she was really small all 2nd trimester and that no one at work (other than who she told) noticed she was pregnant until about 12 wks before I was born. Perhaps it is genetic, something to do with uterine position. She only managed to gain about 20-25 lbs total I think, I was born about 1.5 wks late but at an average size of 7ish lbs. You can tell I'm pregnant or at least shaped differently when I'm in my form fitting workout clothes or my swimsuit. Even then though it looks more like 13-14 weeks. I'm certainly not starving myself, I eat when I'm hungry, but I am a pretty active person. Maybe I need to slow down, we will see Friday at my ultrasound how large the baby measures. It is certainly kicking around a lot! My husband rested his hand on my stomach and felt it for the first time last night.
@allison_smith_6212 LOL at the ultrasound picture. We were team green so I've never actually seen what an ultrasound that shows the sex like that looks like (people tend to not share those ones as often LOL)
