I thought this would be fun.  What OWT have you heard and if you know the gender, were they correct?  Share with previous pregnancies too!!

    I know the heartbeat one was right for me the last two. Baby 1's heartbeat was 157- and a girl. Baby two was 134- and a boy. This time around the heartbeat was 160 so I'm guessing girl for now lol.

    My cousin told me that if you want a girl to have sex a few days before ovulation and if you want a boy to have sex on the day of ovulation because girl sperm live longer than boy sperm 🙄

    With DD I had random face pimples/ zits now I’m all clear and glowing. DH thinks it’s a boy because of that haha

    Not really an old wives tale but the chinese gender chart was right for dd. Dont think it works as well when its twins 😂

    My friend told me a old Chinese wives tale that if you look pregnant from the back it's a girl and you don't then it's a boy. When questioned what it means, she says it has to do with the waddle. So she keeps asking me. One of these days I'm going to have to take a picture and send it to her so she can decide for herself lol.

    I’ve heard the whole “girls steal your beauty” thing and for me I’d like the credit my terrible pregnancy skin (both last pregnancy and this time) on carrying girls. It’s a good excuse right?

    Not related to gender but last pregnancy I had HORRIBLE heartburn from day 1 and I kept hearing that baby would have a lot of hair. And she was born with a full head of dark hair! This time no heartburn at all so it will be interesting to see if she has hair when she comes out!

    I have read this too....there is some science behind it, but still no guarantee.  ;) I haven never tried to figure out my ovulation before this time and I have 3 girls.  We'll see about this one!!  LOL

    ***Question... In regards to the OWT about heart rate- which time?? Is it determined off the first time you hear it, or just any time? I've never know for sure which time they meant for that tale. I do know that the HR gets slower the closer you get to delivery though.

    @beep126 I'm wondering the same thing! For DD she was always well above 150-160 each time

    @beep126 @c1kc1kpol1cn1k I think it's for the very first one. Mine was 137 which made me really believe my first instinct that it was a boy and it IS a boy, so, at least for me it was true! 🤷‍♀️ but I'm sure plenty can say the opposite 😅

    Chinese Gender calendar told me boy for the first and girl for the second. My first was a girl, and my second was a boy. It's predicting a boy this time, too. For the heart beat, both my previous babies had high heart rates, though DS was slightly slower 155 vs 160 on avg. I had horrible heartburn with DD and she had a headful of hair 2 inches long that stuck straight up off her head. No heartburn with DS and he was nearly bald at birth... Unusual for a Hispanic baby! The science there is the hormone that causes your esophageal sphincter to soften also promotes hair growth. New one... Pineapple induces labor at the end of pregnancy. I craved pineapple with DD and delivered on my due date. I barely touched the stuff with DS and he had to be evicted. Morning Sickness means girl. I didn't have it at all with DD and had HG with DS!

    For DD, the old wives tales that were correct were:
    morning sickness
    heartbeat above 140
    clumsy
    no headaches

    The old wives tales that were wrong were:
    craving salty food
    no heartburn
    glowing
    moody

    The Chinese calendar said boy.

    For DS, I had a very classic "boy carry" in that he was straight out in front of me. I was all bump. I'm kind of glad I'm having a girl this time because I'm pretty sure I'll carry her just the same way and disprove this silly theory!
