Baby girl was born at 33+2 yesterday.
Water broke at 8.15am. Packed and went to hospital by 9. Confirmed fluid shortly after. Contractions started spontaneously at 2pm. Was 4cm by 3pm, fully dilated by 4pm. Pushed at 4.30, she was born crying and breathing on her own at 5.20pm. No time for epidural and laughing gas made me nauseous and get the shakes bad, so that didn't work out either. Thankful for a fast labor. 5lbs 10oz.
2nd degree tear only, baby girl hasn't developed suck reflex (34 week development) so she has a feeding tube, but no respirator/iv/meds of any kind needed to this point. She's a strong one.
BFP #1 June 2016: EDD 16 March 2017, MC July 2016
Re-started TTC Aug 2016
Started IF testing Nov 2016
Spontaneous BFP #2 January 2017: Rainbow Baby Boy September 2017
BFP #3 November 2018: Baby #2 expected August 2019
He’s off of his IVs and back up to his birth weight, but is still on cpap to help with breathing. Hopefully we’ll be able to bring him home in 3-4 weeks!

Got to the hospital at 12 noon after leaking fluid, baby out by 5:24p!
On July 29th, I woke up to a very small amount of spotting. I had a doctor’s appointment that morning and they checked me for dilation and I was still closed. They confirmed the spotting was just bloody show. I went home and had the beginnings of contractions that afternoon. They were somewhat mild but steady, and 15-30 minutes apart. This continued throughout the evening and the night. July 30th came around and I lost my mucus plug. The contractions began to get stronger and closer together that afternoon. Around 7 PM, they were finally getting hard to get through, and were 4-7 minutes apart for 30-60 seconds long, so we went to the hospital. They took me to triage where they measured my dilation again and I was at 3 centimeters.
They decided to call my doctor to see what she recommended, and they had me begin to walk around the triage area for movement. It was becoming very difficult to get through a contraction, which were now coming every 2-4 minutes on the monitor. As I began walking around 10 PM, my water broke and they admitted me to a room. From there the contractions came quicker and much more intense; it was hard to breathe through and the nurses had to keep telling me to breathe and relax. At six centimeters, I requested an epidural which I got around 11 PM. It was the best choice I made- the epidural procedure was essentially painless compared to the contractions at that point and took effect almost immediately. I was finally able to get some rest and they said they’d check me again in 2 hours. I was able to breathe and get some rest, and they checked me again at 1 AM, and let me know I was 8 centimeters and 90% effaced, but he still had a little ways to drop. Within 45 minutes, they began setting me up to push. My epidural had worked so fabulously that I couldn’t feel the contractions, so the nurses and my doctor had to watch the monitor for when I was having one and instructed me to push. Three rounds of pushing later, only about ten minutes worth, I had my baby! My doctor said that sometimes when contractions have gone on for a long time, pushing time can be short.... maybe there was a silver lining to my 36 hours of contractions! He went straight on my chest for an hour and a half’s skin to skin bonding. I tore minimally, but with the epidural, I hadn’t felt a thing. We discharged 24 hours later.
As a first time mom, I was so anxious about the labor and delivery process, but I’m glad to say I got through it, and especially after the epidural, it went exactly how I wanted it to go.

Had contractions since Sunday and went in Monday morning. Was only 2 cm dilated and the contractions were far apart that they sent us home. Started feeling miserable by Monday evening and spent the night in pain. Finally broke down and decided to go back to the hospital Tuesday morning. 6 cm dilated and was admitted. Got epi @ 7 cm and was fully dilated by 1.30 PM. After pushing for 4 hrs with break in-between, he was finally here.
Spent an extra night at the NICU for high Bilirubin but we are all home now.
