    • How far along/EDD? 11w2d, EDD 1/11
    • How are you feeling this week? Exhausted ALL the time and constantly need a nap. Also, started feeling some pulling sensation in my lower belly each time I pull my arms up or stand too quickly.
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Mini rant -  Sleeping is getting tough already. I’m trying to sleep mainly on my left side but I wake up so sore or on my back. Didn’t expect it this early on, so I’m sure good nights of sleep are coming to an end  I know it’s not recommended to sleep on the right side, but anyone know if it’s just later on or should I avoid it now too?
    • Any upcoming appointments? None this week.
    • GTKY: What foods are you craving or just can’t eat now?  Just craving all the carbs. Nothing I can’t eat just yet.

  • @Tulips29 you can sleep in whatever position you want. The data on back sleeping being bad is pretty weak and I’ve only heard of studies on women in their third trimester. The push for left side sleeping has always made me so irritated, as if pregnant women need yet another thing to worry about!! You can sleep on whatever side you want as long as it’s comfortable. I slept almost exclusively on my right side during my first pregnancy and often on my back until I got really big, my son was fine. I never even brought it up with my pregnant patients because it’s just one of the stupidest subjects to give a woman anxiety over - you can’t control what you do in your sleep! I also started using a pregnancy pillow at like 12 weeks last time and it was amazing! My joints were super sore early on and it helped with that.

     - I’m 7w2d, due date 2/8
     - I’m with @Tulips29, SO TIRED! But we also moved this weekend, which I will never, ever do again with small children! It’s pure chaos!
     - see above. Moving sucks. Our new house needs a lot of work as well, so it’s a constant stream of contractors and “can’t use that room for a few days”, including our son’s room. On the bright side, I figure if we all make it through this, then twins should be cake (har har). On a rave note, I used my fetal Doppler tonight and was actually able to hear a heartbeat for a few seconds!
     - no appointments this week
     - I want ramen, 24/7. And sometimes pimento olives. No food aversions yet.

  • @PoeMasque that's reassuring to hear. I remember last time around I was convinced I'd hurt the baby if I slept on my right side or my back. Eventually I got big and uncomfortable to sleep only on my left side, so I'd sleep half sitting with a bunch of pillows around me. And I already got my pregnancy pillow out 2 weeks ago. It somewhat helps, but same as you, I feel like my hips are already so sore. And I can't imagine how stressful moving and construction must be, especially with a toddler and being pregnant. You will definitely make it through this and everything else! So awesome you got to hear the heartbeat as well!

    • How far along/EDD? 16w6d 12/5

    • How are you feeling this week? Great! I’m having a ton of round ligament pain but otherwise feeling good.

    • Rants/Raves? Questions? We’re going on vacation this weekend, 10+ hours in the car and I’m getting anxious. My one symptom has been car sickness and it seems I’m peeing every 30 minutes right now.

    • Any upcoming appointments? This Friday to find out the gender! I am so dang excited!

    • GTKY: What foods are you craving or just can’t eat now? Candy! No chocolate but any other candy. Popsicles and pie were big for the first tri. I had an aversion to chicken for several weeks but that’s gone and I’m pretty much eating anything in sight now.
@PoeMasque Moving is the worst! I’m so type a, I want all boxes and furniture put in the rooms they belong in and I want to go room by room and unpack and set things up asap. Literally won’t sleep until I have things put together and I cannot have empty boxes lying around. Moving is not my friend haha

@Tulips29 I’m horrible at sleeping on my left side, I favor the right. I’ve been using a pregnancy pillow for support but it hasn’t helped, I always wake up on the right side.

    Edit- I can’t spell y’all
  • @k_mama91 That's so exciting about finding out the gender! Do you have any guesses?

Ramen is yummy!! We have no good ramen places around here :-(  What about some delicious pho? :p  I think we went to our pho shop at least weekly during my pregnancy.

  • @Tulips29 the recommendation for left sided sleeping isn't until late second/early 3rd tri... and even then your body is pretty good about waking you up if you need to adjust positions. This may be a FFWC but i'm third tri and still sleep on my back for at least part of the night (That's how I start and adjust as I need to get comfortable) I did the same with my last pregnancy also. I say, sleep how ever you can.

  • Hi ladies - hope it’s ok if I join you. It’s super early but I need a safe regular space and I know many of my grad friends are here :-) Also important for me is a safe space to be oh so happy yet still so anxious of all that can go wrong at the same time.

Not sure if you normally do an intro still? Well I’m Emma, 40yo, PG for the first time ever after more than 4 years TTc including 7 retrievals and three transfers. I have DOR, several autoimmune issues, adenomyosis and am of course AMA. We transferred two day 3 untested (preciously froxen) embryos on 6/18. I’ve been a longtime regular on the TTGP IF thread and in the IF Low AMH thread.
    • How far along/EDD? 4weeks today, 3/7
    • How are you feeling this week? This week was a rollercoaster. I got my first v v v faint positive HPT evening of 5dp3dt. Had myself freaking out the next days so went for a ridiculously early first beta on Wednesday and follow up Friday. 34 hour doubling time with values right in the expected range. My main symptoms are 4am strong nausea, extreme tiredness and crying at everything. I am not normally a crier. Or an afternoon napper. The emotions have been more intense as my grandfather died on Thursday evening. So what I feel changes from moment to moment.
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? I know nothing about this next step as the last two years was about making embryos to transfer. This was my one focus. Now I’m having to play catch up like crazy. And books on pregnancy you can recommend which are a bit more science based? Or ones for partners? DH has more catching up to do than me... I had to explain to him how we can be 4 weeks pregnant if we only transferred the embryos 11 days ago...
    • Any upcoming appointments? I will have a third beta and progesterone check on Tuesday as my progesterone has always been historically very low. I’m already injecting twice a day and doing 400 of cyclogesg 4 times a day...
    • GTKY: What foods are you craving or just can’t eat now? I am craving salty things. As I’m gluten free due to really strong intolerance and currently fully grain free that’s not so easy. I also can’t eat anything which has salt with iodine added to it as I have a very temperamental thyroid too.

@k_mama91 oh wow another boy! My brother and sister have 5 boys between them - it’s so handy for handing clothes down and great to see them all play together too. My parents house is basically just made of dinosaurs and LEGO
    :D

@PoeMasque I cannot imagine moving house at this time - but I guess better to do it before you get too far along. And olives! That’s a great idea for my salty needs...

@Tulips29 How are you trying to combat the exhaustion? I work full time and if this 4am nausea continues I don’t know if I can make it through without sleeping after lunch... this week i was off so could do it - but fm Monday I need to stay awake through meetings again...

  • @PoeMasque I wish I had saved clothes! DS will be 9 when this baby is born so no clothes. I do have toys, books, crib, and pack n play though and they’re all very boy.

@emmasemm Welcome and huge congrats!! The first several weeks is very nerve wracking but we’ve got a good group of ladies to vent to and seek advice.
I don’t have any advice on books except your generic What to Expect, it was the only one I’ve read. As for your exhaustion, the first trimester was rough for me bc I was so run down by 3pm that I had to nap or I became physically ill. That gets better though 😊
Wow, 5 boys! This is just number 2 but I’ve settled in to the idea of being an all boy mom. The 8yo already keeps the house loud and messy so I couldn’t imagine 5 in one house at once!

I would have no idea what to do with boys! I swore up and down that Anne was a boy until 16 weeks when the tech said baby looked like a girl. We only have girls in my immediate family and everyone was delighted to have another one haha. It's so great when they all play together and can share interests too....not that boys and girls don't play together well or share interests, but there are often differences, especially when they are little. Our houses are filled with Disney princesses, My Little Ponies....and dinosaurs because who doesn't love dinosaurs?!

    @emmasemm
I'm a lurker and I'm delighted to see you here! I know it can be a rough road, esp. with low AMH. We lucked out with my 0.62 AMH at my first cycle -- 2 untested blasts, 1 healthy baby. Thinking of you and your little bean and hoping all goes smoothly

  • @emmasemm I joined super early too, so you are definitely welcome! I’m still only 8 weeks, so early days for me as well. I’m sorry that this has been your journey, but you are in good company. I wish there was a magic cure for the fatigue, by 2pm I am literally holding my eyelids open, then I’m wide awake at 3am every morning, just because. This happened in my first pregnancy too and I wish I could say it was a 1st trimester thing.....but for me it wasn’t :( one thing that keeps playing mind games with me is when I have a good day, no symptoms, then I suddenly feel like something is wrong! There’s just no winning!

@k_mama91 bummer about the clothes, but I also can’t imagine hanging onto clothes for that long either! I’ve already got a bunch of friends offering up clothes for these babies and our son was basically clothed by hand me downs from friends (although being a first time mom, I still bought him way too many clothes), maybe you can find someone who wants to destash :)

  • @emmasemm Lurking. As a fellow woman of AMA, I wanted to say congratulations! I was 39 when I became pregnant with my DS, so I can relate.
For pregnancy books, I recommend the Mayo Clinic’s Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy. It’s written by the Mayo Clinic physicians who are also parents and contains concise explanation of pregnancy stages and practical advice. Since it’s written by physicians, their advice are evidence-based. The book is well-organized and all pages are color so it was easy to read. I’m hoping to transfer again this fall/winter for #2 and in preparation (sorta) I began reading a book called Expecting Better by Emily Oster. She is an economist and in this book she tackles many topics regarding what to do’s and what not to do’s during pregnancy and looks at the data behind these recommendations and explains what’s based on solid data and what’s not. I’ve already experienced a successful pregnancy but I thought this book might help me relax a bit during pregnancy #2 (if I’m lucky to conceive again).

I'm not really sure If I belong here but I don't feel like I belong in the February 2020 board either and I am hoping it is okay of I join here. Feel free to tell me I don't belong since I am technically not an IVF pregnancy.

A quick backstory. I'm 31, DH 32 **TW** I've had 4 miscarriages (1 in Jan 2009, 2nd August 2017 at 22w Trisomy 18, 3rd April 2018 twins, 4th October 2018 blighted ovum) . After the 3rd, my husband and I started seeing a RE. 2 rounds of clomid resulted in a blighted ovum. ER December 2018, 2 blasts 5AA and 5BB. FET Feb 2019 failed, FET May 2018 failed. Aunt Flo started May 22nd. Husband and I decided to take a break from IVF and maybe try on our own a few months down the line. Diagnosis MTHFR, Endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss and low progesterone during pregnancy.

June 15th BFP. We were super careful around my usual ovulation time, but RE says I obviously ovulated later. First beta was 44, second 90, 3rd 396, and fourth 956. First sono is scheduled for 7/9. Still with my RE, on Endometrin twice a day, lovenox nightly, and prenatals.

    • How far along/EDD? Approx 5w4d EDD 2/25
    • How are you feeling this week? 24/7 nausea, indigestion, always tired
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? I am super nervous. Only my husband knows we're pregnant. I am scared to tell anyone else because of our history and I am not really sure when or if I'll be ready to tell our families.
    • Any upcoming appointments? 7/9 first sono
    • GTKY: What foods are you craving or just can’t eat now? Craving anything salty.
Like I said above, feel free to tell me to go if you guys don't think I belong. I see some familiar names from the FET boards and i am so happy to see everyone doing well ♡
  • @emmasemm from a long time lurker... CONGRATS!!!!! I hope this is your sticky bean!  Good luck with the cravings. I get how challenging it can be with dietary restrictions. Just remember that is really mostly about getting through the first tri and you can work on eating healthy/being productive after that. hugs and congrats again!
@aconklin214 there are a few of us who are or have been on this board who struggled with IF (and loss) and had a non-science based miracle and have been welcomed with open arms. congratulations and I hope this is your take home baby

  • @mbradfo2 I felt the same way with my first! I wanted a girl SO badly I could taste it. I cried when we found out he was a boy bc I just knew it wouldn’t be fun for me and we’d have nothing in common. Fast forward to now and I honestly don’t know that I could handle a girl. There’s something special about collecting bugs and spraying the mud off before you come inside.
