This is my first cycle after my loss in May. I'm super nervous because I was red spotting for 4 days and called my doctor to see what she wanted me to do since I was supposed to start femara on CD 3. She said to go ahead but later that night AF came in full blown so now I'm worried i took it too early. And she thinks my loss was because i ovulated too late and now I'm so worried it's going to be too early. has anyone heard of people taking femara on CD 1 and having success?
I don't know anything about femara too early, but if your doctor felt comfortable with you taking it after 4 days of spotting, then hopefully you're ok.
@splashmountain I hope so, she was supposed to give me a higher dosage but didn't so that's also concerning. But maybe I'm just nervous about it all and finding reasons
I’m on CD 11 and started testing with OPKs. i decided on doing twice a day dips this cycle just to get a feel for how long my surges are and when they happen in relation to a temp change.
Also it makes me feel like I’m doing something while I wait around to see if my body will ovulate early or late.
@blackrose-9 I used femara for several cycles. One cycle I just spotted and called for CD1 when spotting picked up but not full flow. RE didn’t really want to give to me but eventually did. I never had full flow that cycle. It should be fine. They should be doing a mid cycle US so they will know when to expect O. I always used OPKs and took my temp so I knew and could make sure I gave them any info if I thought I Od earlier or later or not at all.
@Mack924 i believe she's planning on just doing the day 21 check. She hasn't said anything about an ultrasound. She's still new to me. I moved here from out of state and last time was my first try being here and she was out of town so it was another doctor who prescribed my meds but they didn't monitor the cycle at all. This is my first full cycle with her.
@blackrose-9 are you seeing an RE? From my understanding with femara they should really be checking you around day 10-12 to see how many follicles and make sure you aren’t over stimulated. Then they can usually tell you from there approximately when to trigger if using a trigger shot or just tell you when to have timed intercourse. I had US anywhere from CD1 to CD3 then told when to start femara and then again around CD 10. They would tell me when to take trigger shot and when we could try on our own before we had the IUI.
Ugh @emlettuce that is so frustrating! My last cycle threw me for a loop because I O'd a little earlier than expected. Why can't our ovaries follow the calendar? lol

@Mack2342 I'm not seeing an RE this time. I moved to another state and the closest is 2.5 hrs away. So this cycle she's just planning on the day 21 progesterone check but when I call to make that appointment I may ask about the ultrasound too since she hasn't brought it up this cycle.
Thanks you guys, I was pretty darn hopeful this cycle so it's a little bit more of a let down when af shows up. DH has his SA today so we're at least moving in the right direction.
Eta: glad you finally got your positive opk @emlettuce. I usually O on day 18, so it doesn't seem late to me. Your cycle may just end up being longer because of the lateer than usual O
I go here now too @tyrion_. Today is calendar day 1 for me. Which I am kinda happy about. I ovulated pretty earlier this cycle and the only reason I can think of is my thyroid medicine. Maybe my thyroid functioning correctly has my hormones balanced. I am contemplating not taking the clomid and just seeing how things go this cycle.
