Baby is the size of a(n): I guess coconut since @kopp5988 is the same week as me ;)

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM, DS is 2

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green:  pink!

Upcoming Appointments: 7/11 for routine OB

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Tired.. my stretch marks are getting bad again, and I'm feeling self conscious about that. I'm only like 6 pounds heavier than when I got pregnant with DS, and I know they don't really have to do with weight so much, but.. eh, it still made me sad to see them so pronounced already.

Rants/Raves: Eh, I guess see above for my rant. Rave though its a short work week. Not sure what we'll actually do for the 4th, if that will be the day we go to see MH's friend or if we will just end up staying home and BBQing at home.

    Questions:

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.
I wish I had a good answer for this question... It's not really a tradition but one of my favorite times at Christmastime is going together as a family to pick out our tree, then decorating the tree together. MH and I always drink wine and eat cookies, and I'm excited to include the kids in that as well (minus the wine for them.. ha). DS enjoyed it last year but didn't really understand too much but I think this year he might understand Christmas more so I'm looking forward to that. Also MH and I are pretty into Halloween and we make a pretty big deal about that entire month, scary movies, pumpkin carving, haunted houses, ghost stories, trick or treating. I hope DS and this baby eventually enjoy it as much as we do. MH is reallllly hoping for a Halloween baby for us, lol.
  • @creamcheeseplease my husband loves Halloween as well because his birthday is a few days before hand. He’s hoping for a Halloween baby also haha. I love your Christmas tree tradition, I may start doing that this year! Sorry that your stretch marks are getting bad again 😔
  • @kopp5988 I'm in Canada, so we don't do July 4th, but today is Canada Day, so we're going to take a walk down to the street festival to check out the market and then head to my in-laws for an afternoon by the pool and a BBQ!

    EDD/Weeks + Days: Nov 10 / 21w

Baby is the size of a(n): Endive?

    FTM/STM/TTM+:  FTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Blue!!

Upcoming Appointments: July 4 with OB and July 10 with midwife

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Feeling good! Swollen ankles most days, heartburn before bed, but otherwise we're alright!

Rants/Raves:  my husband has been building up a big surprise all week and yesterday I came home to him and my parents finishing up a fence that we've been wanting to build for over a year! It looks amazing!

Questions: Has anyone started their registry? Any great suggestions?

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.

Husband and I aren't big fans of most holidays...we're planning to start our own Christmas tradition that's less focused on presents and religion and more focused on family and giving. We'll see how that goes, haha!
  • EDD/Weeks + Days: Nov 23/ 19+ 3

Baby is the size of a(n): Mango/Dollar Bill

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out! AS July 15 woooo

Upcoming Appointments: I have an appt Wed for a re-culture for an infection I feel like I've had forever 😭 the first round of antibiotics didn't work so they need to reswab before ordering more.

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Other than the above issue pretty good. Had some scary cramping the other day caused by dehydration. Stay hydrated ladies!

Rants/Raves: I've been having a bad mental health week feeling really overwhelmed and having insecure dreams about having the baby and being unprepared. Getting anxious for the anatomy scan coming up too.

Questions: none that I can think of

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.
My mom would always let us play hooky for the day to go into the city to see Santa. The real Santa was always the one that was in Macy's Herald Square. We would shop, eat, lunch, look at the Macy's window displays and called it girls day out. We haven't been able to do it as much with scheduling and such but would love to continue this tradition going forward. ALSO always, stop whatever we are doing at 12:00pm Thanksgiving to listen to Alice's Restaurant. 😁
  • @alaluap I feel like a dummy for forgetting some of us are in the US and don’t celebrate the 4th, I’m gonna blame pregnancy brain 😜 Enjoy the Canada day celebrations! That’s awesome about the finished fence, such a good surprise.

@ABabyMarshall good luck at your appointment on Wednesday, sorry you haven’t been able to kick the infection yet. Hopefully the next round of antibiotics does the trick.

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Feeling good. The waddle has started. Lol. My lower back has been super achy and I can’t sleep long on my left hip or it will go numb.

    Rants/Raves:
My DH gets a 4-day weekend. He work 6 days a week out of town so we only get to see him 1.5 days out if every week. So 4-days is a gift! We’re going to Oregon for 3 days to relax and veg out and do some tax-free baby shopping😆.

    Questions:

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.
Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, we go to our local tree farm to pick out our tree we’ve been going since DD1 was a year old (she’s now 13). The kids love it, then we go home and watch Christmas movies and decorate :)
  • Enjoy spending time with your DH this weekend @pintobean77! That is a tough schedule, I shouldn't really complain about MH's after hearing that one.

    @alaluap Happy Canada Day!!

@ABabyMarshall I hope your infection finally gets kicked, and good luck at the anatomy scan! The Santa in Herald Square was legit. I want to take DS there one day!

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): really good! I forget I'm pregnant at times.

Rants/Raves: Hawaii was awesome, but jetlag struggles are real right now. We had a red flight out on Saturday night and flew all day yesterday. I'm all off on time and sleep still.

    Questions: no

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.

We have a few holiday traditions around Christmas but nothing big that comes to mind. My family has always been big on traveling and we plan to continue that with our kids. I want them to experience new places and things like I did. After living in Europe for 3 years, DS is the most well traveled 3 to I know. I just wish he'd remember more of his experiences hes had so far!
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @creamcheeseplease Everything is relative. We’ve had this schedule for the last 10 years or so and are somewhat used to it. Doesn’t make your DH’s schedule any less poopy. Lol. DH is a commercial electrician and is the foreman on a condo complex in the Seattle area at the moment. He goes out of town for a job every couple of years or so and then a job will come
up closer to home where he can be home every night. The company rents him and his crew a house, and provides per diem, and a van so we can’t complain and they’ve always treated him well. His schedule should go back to 5 days soon so at least he’ll have a weekend which will be nice.
  • EDD/Weeks + Days: November 18/ 20 weeks

Upcoming Appointments: no because I haven't made an appointment with anyone in Alaska yet.

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): no cravings and no symptoms right now.

Rants/Raves: I have no AC in the house I'm living in now. We just had few really hot days too so that hasn't been fun at all. It is also suppose to rain at some point and I'm hoping the rain takes all the smoke away from the forest fire. Overall, I love this house. We took a gamble renting it while still in Houston (without actually seeing it) and it turned out great. Everything is updated and the spaces in this house are amazing. Plenty of room for everything we need. The paint is a little banged up in places but I'm totally fine with that because it makes me feel like I can relax and not worry everytime one of my kids runs something into one of the walls.

    Questions: none

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.  I can't think of any of our traditions right now other than having a family Christmas party when we put ornaments on the tree. We bake cookies and listen to Christmas music. The kids love it!

Upcoming Appointments: had my anatomy scan this morning, regular appointment at the end of the month

    How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms):
Barely any nausea (although I do feel crappy right now) and my SPD pain has lessened a bit, but I’m still waddling and need to be careful standing on one leg or walking on uneven ground because that hurts.  I tried a walk with the stroller the other day and it did not go well after the first mile, I’m bummed out about that.  I’m feeling lots of movement and my husband finally felt her from the outside a few days ago, so that is very exciting!  It happened way earlier than it did with my son, but that’s a nice surprise😊. As for cravings, I’ve been wanting Diet Coke, which is weird because I gave up drinking soda over ten years ago 🤷🏼‍♀️

Rants/Raves: Just super happy to have the anatomy scan done and to know that baby is healthy.  I feel like I can finally start to enjoy this and my husband actually initiated the name conversation on the way home today, so I know he’s feeling relieved as well!

    Questions: none

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.  Our town does a big 3rd of July celebration instead of the 4th.  Everyone sets off fireworks on the beach and has parties up and down the street, so it’s a blast.  I’m hoping my son isn’t scared this year and can enjoy the show, it was always my favorite night of the year growing up!
  • @ABabyMarshall The last few pregnancies I have had recurrent dreams about not remembering to feed the baby or forgetting about the baby completely. It's so weird because that has never happened. Except once I laid my youngest down in the PNP when she was a newborn so I could cook and then after awhile I freaked out because I had completely forgotten she was there. She was just sleeping so quietly that I got caught up with what I was doing.

Upcoming Appointments: had my level 2 us today. Things look good and the doctor said he isn't worried about the little echogenic focus because I have no other markers

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): pretty good. Sciatica, and craving smoothies

Rants/Raves: made it back from my conference in Orlando in one piece. Gained more weight down there than I wanted to but I suppose such is life!

    Questions:none

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise. A lot to be honest. We have a Fall festival every year that life revolves around for a little while, so I'm excited about that. And all things Thanksgiving and Christmas!
  • @emeraldcity1214 it gave me such a terrible feeling! In the dream I kept telling everyone I had the baby too early even though I remember the strange detail that the baby was 8lbs exactly. I was home scrambling with my husband trying to piece together an outfit to bring the baby home in. Couldn't even find matching socks. Definitely a reflection of how I've been feeling about our preparedness..

Upcoming Appointments: July 28 for a regular check-up...our last check-up was kind of a bust b/c my OB had to leave for a delivery, but we got to hear my favorite sound on the planet: heartbeat.

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): I'm feeling much better! I finally have gotten the right cocktail of vitamins and Rx meds to keep nausea and vomiting at bay. My calves had been killing me for weeks and my OB recommended taking magnesium supplements and I haven't felt much discomfort since!

Rants/Raves: Rave: I've been feeling so much better and it makes such a big difference! Rant: I'm slammed with work and my CEO straight-faced asked me why I couldn't commit to going home and doing more work at night. Seriously. In a f*&^ing meeting. Eff that guy and eff this job.

    Questions: Hmmm.

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.
MH and I love Halloween & Thanksgiving so definitely want to do that big! We're really excited about having huge Passover seders with our LO.

  • That absolute crap @mc0303 that your CEO said that to you. I'm so over the expectations of companies that we kill ourselves for the job we have when 99.9% of the time the company doesn't care about you at all.
  • @mc0303 omg that is such a shitty thing for him to do! Agree with @creamcheeseplease the expectations to go so far above and beyond are ridiculous sometimes and they’ll just toss you aside like it’s nothing if it’s better for their bottom line.
  • mc0303mc0303 member
@creamcheeseplease right?! it’s completely ridiculous! I’m not going to go out of my way to kill myself for a crappy job. There’s too much life to live!
  • natehknatehk member
@mc0303 I can't believe he literally asked you why you can't commit to go home and work!   As if its a normal thing.  Agree that there is no point killing ourselves for work.  I can't imagine asking someone on my team that, especially at a meeting.

Upcoming Appointments: Just talked to my doctor - he wants me to come in tomorrow for another ultrasound.  Then he will decide when I will be admitted to the hospital.  Due to prior cervical surgery, I have a cerclage, but there is some funnelling happening.  So he has said he wants to admit me around 23-24 wks.   I've been on modified bed rest at home since Memorial Day...

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): I generally feel fine!   Which makes the bedrest that much harder.  But its nice that most of the exhaustion from 1st tri has mostly gone away.  I still get a lot of RLP, and random twinges and pains in the abdomen and cervix area.  Doc says its normal stretching, but its hard not to worry!  overall though, I can't complain.

Rants/Raves: Rave: Last friday was my last day of work, and now I'm out on early leave.  Its nice to be freer this week, not worry about work anymore, and take care of some outstanding things here in the house before I'm out
Rant:  There is so much I can't do being on bedrest!  Would love to take a mini-break, or even just do some gardening outside!  But I can't.   Trying to stay positive and focus on the amazing things happening inside of me.  And be excited that we've made it this far.  I have been told that pregnancy wouldn't be possible for me, and we were almost ready to give up.  I'm grateful every day to have this experience...as hard as it is..

    Questions: Nothing at the moment.

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.
My extended family does a big Christmas every year...usually at least 20 of us, sometimes more.   Usually we rent a big house somewhere for a few days and just spend time together.  I'm so so excited to have our little peanut join this year!

    Questions: none atm

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise. Birthday traditions are fresh on the mind (oldest’s is tomorrow) so I’ll go with those. We do birthday breakfast (funfetti waffles or pancakes), a room full of balloons, movie and favorite restaurant for dinner. It’s so fun now that my kiddos are picking up that we do it every year and really look forward to it!

Fine mostly. Hungry all the time again. And having what I'm guessing is RLP everytime I sneeze, so that's cool.

    Rants/Raves:
I'm finally training my replacement so I can start my new job (same company, different department), that I got over 2 months ago, yay! It's amazing how long it takes these people to do anything. Shes doing really well so far, but I'm kinda bummed I'm leaving. I told that area supervisor to get me to day shift and I'd stay, but no luck. Oh well, their loss.
And 4 day weekend for the 4th!!

    Questions:
None that I can think of right now.

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.
Um, I can't really think of any. My grandparents do a huge Easter egg hunt for Easter with all the neighbors, and it's always a blast, so I guess that would really be it for fun traditions. Other than that, every other holiday is pretty standard "try to split the time between my family and his and eat waaaayyyyy too much food" lol

Let me start with apologizing that I am terrible at responding to people on this thread. I'm always using this on the app on my phone and it's sort of clunky in terms of being able to do a good job of responding. I read all your updates and am interested, I promise. :)

    EDD/Weeks + Days: 11/6 22weeks today

Baby is the size of a(n): coconut 🥥

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: team Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: 7/12 for regular check-in

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Feeling good, just noticing that I get full really easily!

Rants/Raves: I posted a while back about wanting to ask for a raise and being anxious about it. I did end up talking to my boss about it at my yearly review which was after she found out I'm pregnant. She was in total agreement and I found out late last week that I got an 11% raise effective 7/1. That will come in handy in paying for day care! Also, my husband is being really sweet recently and it's nice. :)

Questions: Anyone starting nursery decor yet? We've picked out some paint samples. How would the group feel if I started a nursery ideas thread?

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise. I always got a new pair of pajamas on Christmas Eve and even though my mom doesn't give them to me anymore I still buy myself a new pair. There will definitely be matching mommy and me pj's moving forward!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
  • @runningfortwo81 congrats on the raise!!! I say go for the nursery thread. Also one of the things I am so excited about is mommy and me outfits. MH did a daddy and me pic with DS last winter with them both in khakis, big red flannels, and bean boots and it was the cutest! My friend told me there is a whole section on H&Ms web site for mommy and me outfits.
  • @runningfortwo81 yes please on the nursery thread! We have 4 bedrooms and a bonus room downstairs so I get to decorate a nursery. I'm not planning on painting any accent walls this time. I am painting the horrible colors the owners of this house chose for their kids. They are way too bold for my liking (deep burgundy and blue).

Upcoming Appointments: so many... hematologist, cardiologist, MFM and pediatric cardiologist, and I failed the early 1 hour glucose test so now I have to do the 3 hour test

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): okay, tired, sciatic pain is annoying, a bit exhausted from all of the upcoming appointments blotting out my calendar... I still crave fresh fruits and veggies - I can't get enough of them.

Rants/Raves: we were supposed to close snd move to our new house on Monday...but the seller is an idiot and didn't disclose a past bankruptcy until a week ago and there was no time to get on the court docket...so now we have to wait another month. I was so excited to get into the new house and nest.

    Questions: none right now

GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.

I was raised Catholic and my husband is Jewish, so we have a lot of blending going on. My husband leans more toward Christian traditions (his parents always had a Christmas tree), so the biggest tradition we are going to continue is the Lithianian Christmas Eve celebration, Kučios. It's something I grew up with and I can't wait to share with our little boy.
