I have to walk up a decently steep hill to get from my parking garage to work. I am stubbornly refusing to put in for a medical accommodation for closer parking because I’m afraid I’ll lose my garage spot (it’s based on seniority and took me over 3 years to finally earn a spot) and it’s really my only source of daily exercise. The second part of this is I kinda want to because then it means I can get three months without being panhandled by homeless individuals each time I walk to or from my car
Ok I thought of a confession. I’ve tried to watch The Office but could never get into it. The gifs in the other thread are making me feel like I’m missing out. Should I start again at season 2 or with a specific episode? Is there a certain amount you have to watch before it gets really good? What’s the secret??
I’m not sure if this is a random or a confession... I saw the chiro yesterday. Last night when I got up to pee, my troublesome left hip finally let out a giant crack as it moved back into proper place. Yes! I undid it all when I sneezed laying down this morning 😪
@greenbean-2 I'm not a huge fan. I found it really inconsistent, and IMO often the good clips come from cherry picking scenes out of a larger collection of misses. If you watched the whole first season and never really got into it, then I would guess you won't like the rest of it either.
@greenbean-2 I’ve heard that a lot of people don’t get into it until season 2. I think the first season they were sticking more closely to the British series but then once they decided to do their own thing they hit their stride
Just kidding, @greenbean-2! In reality, @melanier26 is absolutely right. The first season is much different than the rest of the series, because they were trying to more closely model the original British version.
I admit that the first time I tried to watch The Office, I thought:
Eventually someone convinced me to suffer through season one, and by mid-season two, I finally understood what all the fuss was about.
You should definitely try again! I wouldn't skip the first season entirely because it's only a few episodes. But if you keep plugging along until season 2, you might learn to love it like all the cool kids!

Sorry @steminist, I just have to say, I think The Office might be the single one show where this is untrue. The first season of The Office is SO different from the rest of the series. If anyone is getting stuck on season one, keep going! It gets better!

I completely agree with this, it’s one of the few shows that isn’t like this! Season one was very experimental and they almost didn’t make it past the one season. They started to find their groove a few episodes into season two for sure.
It is my all time favorite show, hands down. That said, it isn’t for everyone, just like anything else out there. Some people just don’t like it and never will. Those people are wrong, but that happens. 😂 Other, crazy people like me, have seen every episode no less than 20 times and still growing!
@jenferlee82, my H and I have seen every episode and embarrassing number of times too. We alternate The Office with something different. We binge watch the whole Office series, then watch something else, then go back to watching The Office. Try a new series again, then back to The Office. So on and so forth forever and ever, amen. 😂
@nanner26 Similar but not quite the same - some idiot on a motorcycle got annoyed by the traffic on my street yesterday and decided to drive onto the sidewalk to bypass it! There was a little girl, maybe 4 walking with her dad on it too at the time!! I was so angry when I saw it and if I had have gotten his plate I would have called the police and reported it!

Same. It’s also what is on for background noise quite a bit.

We do the same thing. The Office, then Parks & Rec, sometimes a new show if something pops up that interests us, then back to The Office, then HIMYM, the The Office, Parks & Rec, etc. Though since I go to bed early now, I usually read while DH does bedtime with DS and am too tired to stay up to watch any tv. My life has been a little bit sadder without The Office in it for many months now haha
Confession: My friend had a destination wedding and today is having a reception/party celebration since most people couldn’t attend. And I have no desire to go. 2 days ago we went to a local amusement park and were there for a few hours...then it stormed and we missed the character meet and greets. Sooo we went again yesterday. Between being there for so long and the heat and humidity, I am totally wiped out. The thought of moving off the couch to go be outside AGAIN today is overwhelming

Same 🤣 we're often in the middle of 2-3 TV shows at once because I have a background noise/bedtime show (usually the office or friends) then we have actually paying attention to them shows, and then i have working in my office shows. I've actually had the office be two of those at once and been watching different seasons in the same day haha
I didn't like parks and rec or the office. My SILs all watch both and I just can't. 🤷🏽♀️ Not my style really. I like scifi/fantasy/crime and supernatural is my go to for back ground noise. Aside from the newest season, I've seen every episode a gazillion times. Same with Law and Order SVU. DS used to sing along to the theme song for SVU 😂 🎶do do, Doo doo do do🎶 😂
Confession: I went camping this weekend and set aside the underwear I wanted to pack, but when I went to look in my bag at the campground they were not in there. I totally left them on my bed and didn't pack them into the bag! Thanks, pregnancy brain! Under normal circumstances, I would have just gone commando, but um, not while pregnant! I made do by frequently using wet wipes to "clean" them and myself, but it was not really cutting it. I felt so gross by the time I got home!
@mrsinterweb I totally did this last year! My husband and I were a couple hours from home, and while in a populated town, we were exhausted and I didn't realize I had no underpants until like 1:00 in the morning, after I showered. I also would have gone commando, but I was on my period and that was a definite no from me. So, I did the only thing I could think of: I wore a pair of his boxer briefs (that I made fun of him for packing so many extra of earlier that day).

Yay! I'm so glad @greenbean-2. I feel like most people who enjoy P&R also like The Office.
Also, high five to everyone on our success convincing our friend to try (and probably eventually love!) The Office!
@cmbt2 so sorry about the popping. I have no idea how that feels, is it painful?
I don't watch Office either.....but I do like Parks and Rec and I'm still a big Friends fan.
