Are you reading any pregnancy books to prepare for the months ahead? Have you read any in the past that really helped you? Is your SO reading any? Please share the good and the bad!
When I was pregnant with my DS I read What to Expect When You’re Expecting. My husband was given The Expectant Father and he really enjoyed it. He knew absolutely nothing about having a baby and he said it gave him insight into what I was going through and prepared him a little bit.
I purchased the MayoCinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy. I chose it because this is my first pregnancy and I decided I wanted something written by OBs. It’s very well organized and packed with info. I haven’t read much more than the week by week development- I tried and ended up getting worked up. I’m feeling like it’s going to be better for me to use it as reference as I move through stages, rather than as preparation. I’ll read the labor and infant care sections when I hit month nine. 😅
We were given a book by our OB at the last appointment which I thought was a nice touch. I think it's called pregnancy and childbirth. It spans the whole gamut and DH has poured over it as a way to understand what's going on with me.
I found a lot of pregnancy and birth books stressed me out last time around. Two, however, brought me peace and calm-Expecting Better and Mindful Birthing. I recommend them both a lot.
Bringing up Bebe is a fun book but it's more of a beach read/memoir than a how-to or anything like that.
I read Bringing up Bebe too. It was good to get exposed to stories of other ways to parent, but that's about it.
I loved Calm the Crying and give it to anyone who's pregnant with their first. It made me feel like I knew what was going on. That confidence boost was invaluable!
@kbrown2385 I'm currently reading what to expect when you're expecting and I got MH the expectant father. I'm pretty sure you mentioned it in a previous post about books and that's what inspired me to get it. He's enjoying it so far! 😊

Edit for spoiler

I read Bringing Up Bebe last time around too. It made me want to move to France 😂
