Re: PGAL Check-in w/o 6/12

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 8 weeks

    2. Previous loss(es)? 6 losses. 12/13, 1/17, 11/17, 4/18, 9/18, 2/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally I’m all over the place. The closer to the scan we get the more anxious I get. Physically I have all the basic symptoms although they are on and off. Within the past couple of days I’ve been having lightening crotch, so that’s fun. I also seem to have an aversion to brushing my
    teeth.

    4. Any appointment updates? F/u viability scan was moved to tomorrow.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Felt really good yesterday, which of course made me nervous. I was finally able to catch up on some errands for Father’s Day. We are celebrating on Saturday so I really need to figure out what we are doing.

    6. Any milestones coming up? Hopefully seeing the heartbeat/appropriate growth at the viability scan

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching? Lucifer on Netflix and Good Omen on Amazon.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 8w4d

    2. Previous loss(es)? MMC 2/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I’m super nervous about my scan today. Symptoms are consistent but seem to fluctuate. Sore boobs, waves of nausea, rlp, headaches , exhaustion. Also always being constipated is apparently my new normal. That’s fun.

    4. Any appointment updates? Today is my F/U scan!

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? If all goes well with my scan today this weekend we will be telling family. And I will probably also tell work next week. Which is both exciting and terrifying to me. Sometimes I get paranoid if I get too excited or caught up in this PG it will just go away.

    6. Any milestones coming up? If today’s scan goes good it will be huge. Never made it to the 2nd scan(8th wk) last time. Praying for a strong heartbeat and on track growth.

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching? I’ve been binging Grey's Anatomy. I never watched it new but Netflix has all the seasons and I started watching a few weeks ago and I’m hooked.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 9w2d

    2. Previous loss(es)? MC 6/16, CP 1/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally I'm struggling a little which is why I'm joining PGAL this week. I've been feeling optimistic this entire pregnancy but all of a sudden am incredibly anxious because my lack of symptoms. I wasn't bad with DS (didn't have MS) but I had so many food aversions, nearly threw up a handful of times, and was so incredibly exhausted. I would fall asleep at 830 every night. This time I have almost no symptoms and it's making me nervous.

    4. Any appointment updates? I go June 27th and I can't wait. At my ultrasound the first measurement the tech took she said I was 7w2d but it was a bad image (I should have been 8w- I know exactly when I ovulated). She took 2 more measurements and I measured 7w6d and 8w. When my doctor reviewed the images and updated my portal she said I was measuring 7w2d but that we would give me an official DD at my June 27th appointment. It's also made me nervous though because I dont know if she just didn't  look at the other measurements or if I really am measuring behind. I'm not one to wish time away but I really wish June 27th would hurry up and get here.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions?

    6. Any milestones coming up? Nearing the end of the first trimester! Seriously can't wait to get into the second trimester.

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching? I just finished Dead to Me on Netflix! MH and I are watching Future Man on Hulu.

@hanshotfirst77 good luck at your scan! I watched Greys Anatomy a few years back and made it to season 12. I need to go back and continue watching the rest!

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 11w

    2. Previous loss(es)? 9/18 and 3/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically?
Physically all the symptoms are here and going strong. Emotionally I’m getting nervous since my scan is next Wednesday. It’s hard to get too excited and think things are going well until I get that confirmation.

    4. Any appointment updates? Nothing till ok back home next week. Midwife intake on Tuesday and Wednesday ultrasound

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I’m getting super annoyed with things lately even though I’m on holiday, I can’t imagine when I get back to work next week.

    6. Any milestones coming up? Just getting past next weeks scan and testing will be it

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching? Call the midwife ( new episodes were released) ahha
  • @kbrown2385 I'm with you on the anxiety the closer it gets. Fx for your scan tomorrow!

@dumbledoredies It's so hard when you don't have the symptoms to reassure you. I barely had any with my DS but I also didn't have PGAL brain back then. I also agree 2nd tri needs to get here like now! Fx for your next appt!

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k The irritability is unreal lately. Fx for your appt next week!

  • @hanshotfirst77 I’ve got everything crossed for you! We are hoping to tell family on Father’s Day as well!

@dumbledoredies I’m sorry you find yourself here. I have to keep reminding myself that every pregnancy is different. I hope you can keep your mind calm until your scan. I’ll be thinking of you! Also, future man is a crazy show. Dh loves it.

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k I’m with you on the irritability. Hope you’re able to enjoy the rest of your trip. I love call the midwife! I didn’t know there were new episodes!
  • @kbrown2385 - It's hard when your symptoms come and go and keep you guessing. Just one more day!

@hanshotfirst77 - What time is your scan? I'll be looking for your update!

@dumbledoredies - If you didn't have MS last time, then I've heard your chances are pretty high to not have it on subsequent pregnancies. Not that that's very comforting. I'm sorry you have to wait so long for another scan.

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k - My mom tried to get me into Call the Midwife, but I think I was watching some flashy action shows at the time and it didn't interest me. I should give it another go because I'm normally really into period dramas.

    1. How many weeks are you? 8 weeks

    2. Previous loss(es)? Jan at 4w6d

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally I'm good, physically it's been rough, but I'm pushing through. Just another 3.5 weeks and I should be done or almost done with this nausea.

    4. Any appointment updates? Monday I had a wonderful scan that showed my little nugget measuring right on track with a nice heartbeat!

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? My sister came over and did my dishes yesterday. I haven't been able to look at them, and DH not only hates doing dishes but also has been swamped with getting a fence torn out and replaced.
After my scan on Monday, I feel like this pregnancy is going to stick and everything is going to be okay, even though the chance of miscarriage is still there. Even though my PGAL brain has calmed down, I'm still going to try to be here to support everyone.

    6. Any milestones coming up? None

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching? Poldark, 4th season just came out on Prime.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 8w 2d

    2. Previous loss(es)? Blighted ovum between my first two girls

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I can't stomach coffee or tea in the morning, which would be fine except not drinking them is leading to crippling headaches.    Which is making me short and bitchy with my kids.  Today I tried hot cocoa, which was fine while I was drinking it. Now to see if it has enough caffeine to stop the headaches(or if I have dealt with my withdrawal).

    4. Any appointment updates?   My first appt isn't until July 2nd.  I am trying to be zen and calm, but today H tells me that a work trip that is supposed to be this month will likely be pushed back to then.  I cried 😕  I really don't want to have to find out about an empty sac or no heartbeat or whatever by myself, and then come home  to take care of my other kids.   😭

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? None

    6. Any milestones coming up?  This is the week I had my ultrasound and saw the empty sac with my blighted ovum.

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching?  We are catching up on Modern Family and Superstore.

  • @MollySm ugh I’m so sorry your appt is so far away! Hope you can find something to help with your headaches. Maybe some soda? I know it’s not the greatest fix, but the caffeine could help a little 🤷🏻‍♀️

@hanshotfirst77 can’t wait to hear an update!
  • @dumbledoredies hang in there. Someone described being a parent like holding your breath for 9 months and then holding it again for another 20 years. It feels about right. The worry is strong!

    @hanshotfirst77 good luck today!

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k you are so close to that 12 week magic mark! Wishing you and baby the best!

@MollySm I'm sorry H's schedule might conflict. That sounds rough. Maybe have some back up parenting options. You won't need it but maybe it would be comforting to know if you needed it it would be taken care of.

    1. How many weeks are you? 7wk 2d

    2. Previous loss(es)? MC 12/18 CP 4/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally a bit better. After my appointment I cried a bit I think from relief so that's good I guess. I'm feeling a bit more confident but a little worried. See below for appointment updates. Physically I feel terrible. But working on remedies. @kbrown2385 MS candies coming today!

    4. Any appointment updates? Had my first ultrasound yesterday. Based on LMP I should be 9 weeks but I had a CP before this so something wonky may have happened to ovulation. Anyways, I got my positive hpt a week late so I had in the back of my mind I might be a week behind which would have put me at 7wk6days. Well the ultrasound measured 7wk1day. The doc didn't seem concerned because she said I could just be off. It just wasn't the shining endorsement of everything is fine the way I wanted it to be. The good news is that this is the farthest along I have been and the heartbeat was strong so I am hopeful. Sorry for the novel! Next appointment is July 11 at 12 weeks.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? My boss is awesome. I decided to tell him since he needs time to figure out my teaching replacement and cell biologists don't grow on trees in the middle of nowhere so I told him. It was one of the most positive experiences. I ended up sharing about my losses and why I was hesitant to share. He was so sympathetic and the last thing on his brain was how it might affect the department. So that was nice!

    6. Any milestones coming up? Every day is a milestone

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching? We just finished the Expanse on Amazon Prime. I'm not usually a Sci Fi person but I liked it alright.
  • Well, I lost another baby...but its twin is measuring 8w4d (4 days ahead) with a heart rate of 173!!! I won’t be able to get the NIPT test done because of the twin, so that’s a bummer, but overall this is very good news. My next u/s isn’t until July 8th. I sure hope the baby is still doing well at that point.

  • @carrieandr - I'm so sorry for your loss. But that's fantastic news about the other twin! I hope that your next scan has good news too.
  • @kbrown2385 I really don’t mind about the twin, aside from the fact that I can’t get testing. My RE had wanted me to try superovulation with iui to try to get me pregnant with 2-3 babies to increase my odds. We didn’t end up doing it, but it looks like my body took it upon itself to do it!

@kbrown2385 no new episodes but they released a new two part Christmas special!
@dumbledoredies I know not feeling strong symptoms is tough but with DD I had it pretty easy until late 2nd/3rd trimester
@marebear15 try and give it another go !
@MollySm sorry your appointment is far away. I can’t drink coffee anymore either :( but like suggested before maybe something else with caffeine to avoid the headaches
@biolprof that’s so awesome you got to open up and have a good discussion with your boss about your pregnancies. Also great news on the strong heartbeat try not to think about the weeks and dates until the next ultrasound to see how it goes :)

  • TW
Well it happened again. My anxiety and bad feelings were real. I lost another baby.

Baby measured 7w2d and I should be 8w4d and there was no heartbeat. Only reason I’m not bleeding like last time is probably cause of the Progesterone.

Im numb guys. Idk what to do. d&c is on Friday.

Good to luck to you all!

  • @carrieandr that’s why I used clomid this cycle. Tried to get as many mature follicles as we could to hopefully get a good egg.
  • @hanshotfirst77 I am so sorry to hear this news. I wish you peace and rest during this hard time ❤️
  • @hanshotfirst77 - I'm so sorry that this is happening again for you. Thoughts and prayers.
  • @hanshotfirst77 oh no! I’m so sorry to hear it. I know that horrible numb feeling. I hope you can relax and do nothing for a while. Just curl up on the couch and take care of yourself. FWIW, I didn’t have bleeding with any of mine and I wasn’t on progesterone. Finding out at an u/s is crushing. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Big hug to you.

@biolprof Hooray for a supportive boss!
@carrieandr I’m sorry about the loss of the twin but so happy for strong growth on your remaining kiddo!

    1. How many weeks are you? 9w

    2. Previous loss(es)? DD’s twin at 7w4d

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally I am feeling reassured since physically I feel like death warmed over. TMI, but in addition to the constant nausea and fatigue I’ve added diarrhea (was up off and on all night) and serious gas pain and bloating to the mix.

    4. Any appointment updates? OB appt July 10

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? For anyone on the unisom + B6 cocktail, did you talk to your doc or nurse before starting?

    6. Any milestones coming up? Today was a milestone because today the baby is officially a “fetus”!

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching? Don’t judge me....I currently dabble in Southern Charm, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, My 600 Lb Life, and 90 Day Fiancé. I’m very cultured.
  • @carrieandr sorry for the loss but happy for you that baby is going strong !
  • @EmilyE13 My dr just told me to take half a unisom at night and it should continue to help through the next day. And she said to take 100 mg of b6 over the course of the day. 25 mg 4x/day or 50mg 2x/day.

  • @hanshotfirst77 what terrible news! Thinking of you and your partner ❤️.

@EmilyE13 I did get the info from my doctor but it was for basically any pregnant woman so it seemed universally ok. If you are concerned call the nurse line and ask.

On that note, I could only find b6 in 100mg tablets, nothing smaller. Where do you get it?
  • @hanshotfirst77 I'm so incredibly sorry.  This shit isn't fair.  There is nothing anyone said that made me feel better.  I hope you begin healing soon.

@carrieandr Sorry for your loss.  I am so happy that you have such a strong HB.  Hope that's reassuring.I was just about to ask about the unisom/b6 combo.  My diclegis prescription was 45$ for 60 pills, um, not a chance.  I amazon'd the combo for 19.

@kbrown2385 I've got everything crossed for you for your scan. (although you won't need luck because baby is going to fine and wiggling away.)

@dumbledoredies The lack of symptoms sucks, I know!  You're probably sick of hearing "every pregnancy is different".  I hope you start feeling like shit soon.

@marebear15 so happy for your great scan and your confidence.  send those good vibes out to all of us!
@MollySm Going to scans alone is the worst. I am like you, and need support with me.  Can you get someone else to go with you?

@biolprof I am a teacher as well, but for art (so easier to come by)  Last year I was out from May- the end of the school year and the other art teacher was stuck doing the art show alone. I am scared to tell her that I am pregnant again! I'm also a bit nervous to tell my boss.

    1. How many weeks are you? Around 8 weeks

    2. Previous loss(es)? Cornual Ectopic 2016, MMC@9 weeks 2017 2x CPS before DD was born 5/19 :)

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically?  Physically I am more sick that I ever was with DD.  I am so sick I can barely drive.  I know I should be drinking more water but that makes me feel even worse. I have to sip it all day long. I just bought some unisom and b6. I am going to try it tonight.  The only thing I can stomach is carbs, not great for the waistline.

    4. Any appointment updates?
I have an apt June 21st when I should be between 9-10 weeks.  They are going to push for a dating US but I only want the doppler. I will get the NIPT test that day as well.  I had so many excessive scans with DD that I have PTSD from the scans and get panic attacks when they perform them.  I don't know how I will manage at the anatomy scan.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions?
We've picked a name.  I hope I am not jinxing things.

    6. Any milestones coming up?
I decided not to take progesterone this pregnancy because my numbers were good and my spotting stopped and it looks like the spotting is done. That's a relief.

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching?
I just finished True Detective Season 3.  I am currently watching Black Mirror and anticipating Big Little Lies!

  • @hanshotfirst77 - I am so, so sorry.   Finding out at an ultrasound sucks.   Sending love.  Life is unfair.

  • @biolprof Amazon! I got the “Amazing Nutrition” 250 count of 25 mg. What’s funny is as soon as you select it, the Unisom sleep tabs immediately show up as “frequently bought together.”
  • @justsuzie I got a prescription for diclegis in my first pregnancy and it was going to be $800! Hard pass on that! She said it was because it was a new drug and there weren’t any generics available yet.

  • @EmilyE13 - I didn't ask before starting the B6+Unisom, but the nurse did confirm that it was okay on my last visit.
  • If I just use B6 will that help? Even though there’s some in my prenatal? How much would be enough for a total daily dosage?
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k 50-100mg max for the day. My doc recommended smaller portions so you could spread out out. I tried the pink stork MS candies @kbrown2385 recommended and that was like instant relief. They have 15mg of b6 and you can have 6 pet day.

@kbrown2385 good luck today. Give us an update after your appointment!
  • I was using just B6 for a while and it did help. 100mg total for the day.

  • @biolprof so glad they helped you!
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k I take just B6 during the day and Unisom only at night and it’s been working well for me. My nurse suggested that to start then upping to half a Unisom w the B6 if it wasn’t working.

    1. How many weeks are you? 8

    2. Previous loss(es)? Early MC/CP April 2019

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally it changes by the hour. I’ve been so miserable physically that it is pretty reassuring. But as we get closer to the ultrasound I just get terrified that it’s not going to be good

    4. Any appointment updates? Ultrasound Tuesday afternoon

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I didn’t leave the couch all day yesterday. MH had DS and I wanted to get so much done. But I just couldn’t function.

    6. Any milestones coming up? Just need to get through the Ultrasound

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching? Downton Abbey. I’m obviously wayyy late to the game but I’m obsessed

  • @kbrown2385 Thinking of you today.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 7w4d

    2. Previous loss(es)? NMC 1/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally I'm an increasing mess. I spent most of Tuesday crying over coffee not stinking, not feeling sick, my partners toothpaste not making me gag, not being able to smell his pomade, an unripe avocado, and a song on the radio. (in hindsight, I probably should have realized my hormones are just fine) Physically, after a few hours of not feeling sick, it all came back. My chest is killing me, I'm a 71 inch crybaby, and I just want to sleep.

    4. Any appointment updates? Still waiting on my first OB Monday

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? My partner won't sleep. He's driving me nuts. I'm so tired and he's up ALL NIGHT. Then, he gets up for work at 4 and I can't go back to sleep, so I'm up at 4. And he's on this we're over 40 so this baby will have (insert problem) kick and I'm emotional enough without the added worry.

    6. Any milestones coming up? 7w3d last time my HCG was 27.6K at 7w5d, it was 28.1K. After my meltdown Tuesday, I let my sister draw me yesterday. It was 42,761. We can't wait 48 hours but we're hoping for an increase today. We also know it won't double in 48hrs. Other milestones, I'm still nauseated as all heck. By 7w4d last time, it had all but disappeared... Hence my meltdown Tuesday.

    7. GTKY: What tv show are you currently watching? Altered Carbon and I'm about to do a marathon on Stranger Things and Dark to prep for their new seasons.

8: Bonus Round, I'm glad you're all here and this post exists. Regardless of my pregnancy outcome, you all bring me comfort...because you get it.
