I'm feeling really frustrated right now. I have a few follies in the 20-30 range. More in the 16-20 range. And then some in the below 15 range. I was so hoping that trigger would be today or tonight because I've just reached a point where I'm so uncomfortable and being up and walking around is really hard so I just stay in bed but my doctor said trigger will probably be on Friday. I'm going in every day now for monitoring and I just feel that Friday is forever away even though I know it's not. The doctor said that since I'm so tiny (4'11 and weigh like 90 libs) that it makes sense that I would be super uncomfortable and in some pain from my ovaries being so big. I think tomorrow I might just ask if I can trigger that night instead of Friday and see what they say. I'm sorry I'm just venting, I'm just tired of the shots and monitoring and I want an end point.

Thank you all so much! I started crying reading all the comments and it made me feel so special. The transfer went really well and I only had a little bit of mild cramping. When I said something about a good embryo my RE said no it's a great embryo! I really have a great RE and since it's a teaching hospital I've had a fellow that has been following my case and even she gave me a huge hug. I go back Friday for BW to check my progesterone levels and my beta is the 25th! My plan now is to relax and try not to count the days.

I'm so frustrated/anxious right now. I heard back from my deferred comp rep and she told me I don't have access to my 401k unless I terminate my employment. She is presenting new plan options on Thursday to my employer and one of the options would allow early withdrawal. I told her she was welcome to use me as an example to show employee interest, but argh! I'm so upset that IVF depends on what management decides to do. And I'm really trying not to be upset with MH who convinced me to get a new car, which has increased our payment and basically rules out getting a loan for IVF. I know he's upset enough with himself. Sorry for the long vent. Keep your fingers crossed that my plan changes!
@ruby696 hope things work out for you! We sort of had the same issue with having a car payment again and also doing IF treatments. We have an HSA which has been nice so it doesn't take away from our regular checking and savings accounts.

@ruby696 I'm so sorry. I hate how expensive IVF is and how it takes so much to move forward with it. I will definitely keep you in my thoughts.
Just got a call from the nurse and my estrogen levels have raised above 4,000 so she told me that she is 99% sure that I will be triggering tomorrow and had me order the shot. This also means that I no longer qualify for a fresh transfer so we'll be doing a FET instead after 6 weeks. I'm grateful that I'm triggering tomorrow but disappointed about not being able to do a fresh transfer anymore. At least it helps knowing that it doesn't decrease chances of it working with a FET.
@littleredm sorry for the frustration I'm glad you're able to trigger tomorrow and hopefully you have some relief from your discomfort
ETA @ruby696 I'm so sorry - not like IF isn't stressful enough without having to worry about finances. I hope you and your employer are able to figure something out and it is total BS that it's basically up to what management decides.
@ruby696 big hugs lady. It's such bullsh*t that anyone has to go through IF and even think about how to afford conceiving a baby. Would it be possible to downgrade your car to be able to qualify for an IF loan? If your plan doesn't change, that is.
@littleredm oh I’m glad they will let you trigger. If you’ve got so many big ones you don’t want to lose them waiting for more little ones that might or might not catch up. Have they mentioned cabergoline? I would recommend planning some easy days after ER.
@ruby696 the finances part is just a huge extra kick in the teeth after all the physical and emotional upheaval that comes with IF. I hope you can find a way to get to your money.

Notes for anyone struggling with IVF comparison sadness
Just a note to anyone approaching IVF who might not get many eggs at retrieval. Or who is likely to have major fertilization issues. Or might lose lots via PGT due to eg a known genetic issue. It can be very difficult to watch others get a lot more, and just like all the other comparisons in TTGP and IF you are entitled to your feelings. It doesn’t mean you wish anyone else bad, just you can of course wish you had those numbers and feel sad you don’t. If you need to take a short break or have a TTGP friend pm you when it’s maybe not the right time to read a thread (or safe to again), don’t be shy. What is a “good” result for one might not be for others. Remember I was super excited to have two embryos each time in my last three cycles. Nobody can take that excitement away from me - as that’s double the chances from the previous rounds with only one. But some days it’s still not always easy. You are not alone.

@stassischroeder We've discussed that, but we'd be taking a huge loss. It's definitely an option though. I think we're going to wait and see what happens with my plan and try on our own in the meantime. Hopefully something will change in the next couple months. Like I'll win the lottery or something.😂
@littleredm FX you can trigger tomorrow! You've been through a lot the last couple days and you deserve to finally trigger! My doctor put me on cabergoline. It's supposed to help prevent you from developing OHSS, or at least that's what I was told. I'd have to look it up but they might do that if your estrogen gets too high? No idea what the threshold is. My estrogen was just above 3000 when I triggered.

@littleredm that's great that you are triggering so much sooner than you thought. I know it's disappointing doing a FET rather than fresh but if it makes you feel better I've seen research that shows FET have higher success rates.

Just got the call, I'll be triggering tonight and my egg retrieval is scheduled for Saturday morning. Since my estrogen is high I'll be taking Lupron as the trigger and going in tomorrow morning to make sure it worked. They also did put me on cabergoline which I'll start tonight.
Edit: Question? Do my follicles continue to grow once I've triggered with the Lupron shot?
@littleredm finally! So excited for you! For your question... I don't think they continue to grow after a trigger but I haven't read anything that says it does or doesn't. 🤷

@littleredm. Yay! They do keep growing to a certain extent, but not as much with lupron or a dual trigger, as with straight hsg, I dont believe. Remember, all those hormones are still in your system, so it's mote like residual or rebound growth as they just finish maturing. You'll do great! You're so close!!!

I'm so frustrated/anxious right now. I heard back from my deferred comp rep and she told me I don't have access to my 401k unless I terminate my employment. She is presenting new plan options on Thursday to my employer and one of the options would allow early withdrawal. I told her she was welcome to use me as an example to show employee interest, but argh! I'm so upset that IVF depends on what management decides to do. And I'm really trying not to be upset with MH who convinced me to get a new car, which has increased our payment and basically rules out getting a loan for IVF. I know he's upset enough with himself. Sorry for the long vent. Keep your fingers crossed that my plan changes!
@ruby696 hope things work out for you! We sort of had the same issue with having a car payment again and also doing IF treatments. We have an HSA which has been nice so it doesn't take away from our regular checking and savings accounts.

@littleredm oh I’m glad they will let you trigger. If you’ve got so many big ones you don’t want to lose them waiting for more little ones that might or might not catch up. Have they mentioned cabergoline? I would recommend planning some easy days after ER.

@stassischroeder We've discussed that, but we'd be taking a huge loss. It's definitely an option though. I think we're going to wait and see what happens with my plan and try on our own in the meantime. Hopefully something will change in the next couple months. Like I'll win the lottery or something.😂
My doctor put me on cabergoline. It's supposed to help prevent you from developing OHSS, or at least that's what I was told. I'd have to look it up but they might do that if your estrogen gets too high? No idea what the threshold is. My estrogen was just above 3000 when I triggered.
