Re: June Healthy Check In

  • I was down .2 yesterday.  I didn’t expect much since we traveled last week and ate out several times plus we celebrated holiday and my birthday so I’m just happy to be down. I made such better decisions when we went out to dinner so that’s a win!

  • Great job @Mack2342 especially after being out of town and celebrating!
  • That’s great @Mack2342!
I’ve been doing keto this week and so far it is going great! Down around 4lbs so far, obviously it’s water weight or whatever happens when you first start a diet. But whatever it is, I’ll take it!
  • 4 lbs!? Dang girl @char245 How is the keto going? Do you like it?

I missed my weigh in last week because that's the day I was home sick and I'll miss it this week for my surgery so I'm hoping for a good number the following week 😁
  • @char245 that’s awesome! Good job
  • Have any of you heard of Noom? I decided to try it and so far I'm loving it! It's very psychology centered, which works well for me. I'm two weeks in and I've lost 6.5lbs so far. Like @char245, I'm sure it's that initial extra weight that comes off easily, but so far so good!
  • @ruby696 I haven’t heard of that but it sounds great!!
@splashmountain I really like it! I read that it’s good for fertility so I figured it couldn’t hurt to try it. Since it’s the hot new thing right now there are soooo many recipes and guides out there so that’s made it easy to try new things. Plus my entire family wanted to lose weight so they are all doing it with me, husband, mom, sister, aunt and uncle  :D So we’ve all been trading recipes as well and trying to help each other. The other nice thing is I’m never hungry like I used to be. It really is true that without the sugar there aren’t the same ups and downs. I’ll try and stick to it and let you all know how it goes!
  • @ruby696 ha I keep getting noom ads in my gmail, but that's all I've heard! I'm glad you like it and it's working!
    @char245 fantastic work! that's great

after boozing too hard over vacation, I'm back to chugging water & meal prepping. the goal is to avoid eating out while at work the whole month of june. I'm also going to only have alcohol at dinners out on the weekend.

  • @ruby696 I've heard of noom, one of the volunteers at my work is doing it and seems to like it too. And 6.5 lbs is fantastic. Great job!

@char245 that's awesome! A support system is so good and I didn't realize that it was good for fertility. *tw lc mentioned*  DS is autistic and a coworker of mine mentioned that she watched a documentary that talked about the affects of keto on Autistic children. Apparently the high fat aspect of the diet is supposed to be really good for increasing brain function. I haven't done my research on it yet, but it's definitely interesting *end tw*

@chichiphin good luck with the not eating out. I feel like I eat healthier at work because I can only eat what I pack since I'm too lazy to go pick up lunch lol
  • @splashmountain oh that is very interesting! There is so much great info on keto right now but there is also a lot saying otherwise so it’s so hard to know what the right answer is!
  • I got my butt back in gear today and went for a quick run at lunchtime.

I’ve always done well with a consistent exercise routine but I continue to flop when it comes to nutrition. Food is just so tasty and comforting.

I really want to focus on portions this week. And get back to eating at home. I’ve been eating out so much, it’s terrible.
  • Great job @Mack2342!! I feel like I've hit a bit of a plateau. I need to increase my exercise and water intake.
  • Awesome job @Mack2342!! It’s so motivating when the scale is finally moving in the right direction! Congrats on all the hard work!!
  • That’s awesome, @Mack2342
  • Thanks ladies!
  • Weigh in last night, first one in 3 weeks, I'm down 4.4 and I officially made it out of the 200's and received my 50 pounds lost charm 😊
  • Thats awesome @splashmountain!!! Congrats!
  • Thanks guys!
  • That’s awesome @splashmountain.  Congrats!  Keep up the good work.  Seeing those numbers go down on the scale is so rewarding
  • That’s a big accomplishment, @splashmountain! Congrats!
  • Well, I'm down 7lbs and I seem to be stuck. Also, does anyone else find it's harder to work out during the TWW? I went on a run this morning and the weather was perfect. Overcast and not hot or muggy at all. But ugh, my body was just not into it and it was so hard to keep moving, even though I wasn't tired or really even breathing hard. I'm blaming hormones.
  • @ruby696 I was stuck for so long.  It’s discouraging.  I get that feeling every so often about exercise. Could be the hormones or maybe you are KU! Hopefully you get out of rut and move the scale again.  I try to exercise more and measure my food more when I’m stuck.  After a while I think I know portions but find out I’m eating too much or not enough.
  • @Mack2342 Thanks for the words of hope, but I'm only 2dpo, so probably not.  Of course now my subconscious is going to be like, "but maybe you are..." 😂

I'll just keep at it. It seems like it's always when I'm about to reach the next ten pound increment. And then once I make it down that level, I start losing again until I'm close to the next 10lb increment. It's so annoying.
  • Losing weight is annoying!  Keep up the good work, you will get there and FX you are KU
  • @ruby696 I’m feeling stuck right now too! This is usually when I give up but I’m really trying to stick with it this time! I hope you’re able to get over the hump soon!
  • @char245 stick with it girl! You will get over the hump!
  • @char245 I finally dropped another pound! Down 8lbs now. Stick with it, the weight will come off.
  • @ruby696 that’s awesome!! As I’m reading these I’m drinking a glass of wine and leaving for vacation tomorrow lol. But I really am going to try to stick with it!!
  • Great job @ruby696!

enjoy vacation @char245.  GL sticking to plan.  I plan to do same when on vacation in July.  I’m working on my menu now lol
  • I was only down .2. AF should be here today so hopefully next week will be better
  • Way to stick with it @ruby696 !

@char245 ooo have fun on vacation!

@Mack2342 hey .2 is better than nothing. FX af does not show up at all 😁

    **tw lc mentioned*
Today we went to a local trampoline park (it's a warehouse type building where the entire floor is trampolines) for ds's bday. I'm telling you guys, all you need to lose weight is a freaking trampoline, that shit is exhausting! I'm not even worried about the pizza and cupcake I ended up eating lol.
  • If someone could follow me around and knock food out of my hand that would be great.

I hit my goal weight with WW two weeks ago and since then I’ve been in an emotional eating free fall.

If this month could end I’m sure that would help the emotional aspect for sure.

    ***TW Parent loss***

First Father’s Day without my dad, tomorrow is the year anniversary of the last time I saw him alive, June 21 was supposed to be my first ultrasound and June 27 is the year anniversary of his death = 7 lb gain/water retention 😬

  • I'm so sorry @tyrion_ that must be very hard. When I had my first mc I went on a baking binge-pumpkin bread, banana bread, cookies, candy...I just knew I was going to blow up to 500 pounds! So, I understand emotional eating. I'm sending hugs and prayers your way for this difficult time ❤
  • @tyrion_ I’m sorry for the anniversaries.   Both are very difficult.  I too lost my dad years ago and father’s day is always difficult.  I’ve been emotionally eating for the last 3.5 yrs of my TTC, until recently.   You will get it back.   Don’t beat yourself up.
  • @tyrion_ I’m sorry this month is so hard for you! Hopefully July will be much better to you!!
  • @tyrion_ so sorry. I can understand why the rest of this month would be so tough for you! I am also an emotional eater so I totally get it.

I think I’m going back on WW. I was on it before I got pregnant in Feb and lost about 25lbs but stopped when I got my bfp and I think I’ve been dragging my feet about going back on because I was hoping to just get KU quickly and not need it... lol. But getting AF once again plus the number of oreos I inhaled this past week 🤦🏾‍♀️ have woken me up a little. I’ve started walking home from the train in the afternoons, which is about a 20 min walk, and I bought a bunch of fruits and nuts to hopefully help replace my cookies and candy. So here I go!

  • @manillabar I signed up for ww in January and I only signed up for month to month because I just knew I'd get ku right away! MH says if I had just signed up for the 6 month membership, I'd have gotten ku, you know because that's TOTALLY how it works   :D
