Nails and fails from this week:
Nails - got out of the house a lot, including a trip to pick strawberries, and DD started “soccer” (Lil’ Kickers) this morning. I’m always happier when we’re busy.
Fails - I have anemia, failed the 1-hr GTT, and both boys are breech.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary:
DD was just adorable picking strawberries. At first she just wanted to hold the box, but eventually she figured out where to find the berries (“behind the bushes!”) and to only pick the red ones. Of course she snuck a couple in her mouth, but when she did she would say “delicious!” in her adorable 2-year-old voice. I was so worried she would be running through the field like a wild hooligan, so I was pleasantly surprised by her behavior!

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now?
Go get a prenatal massage and a pedicure for sure. I’d probably throw in a meal at one of my favorite brunch places - they have this fantastic omelette with potatoes, white cheddar, bacon and sour cream...I could really go for that right now!

Nails and fails from this week:
Nail - got DS on timezone (6 hours different from home) relatively fast
Fail - he's been getting rashes and stuff and we don't know if it's new environment/from playing outside/food contamination everywhere bc we aren't home and everyone else has his allergens everywhere/etc. Thankfully no *serious* reactions, but it's still so sad to see him scratching (til bleeding sometimes) and so uncomfortable

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now?
I don't even know. Pamper myself physically? My joints have been sore....as im sure many of you can relate

Nails and fails from this week: Nail: went to the farmer’s market and a park with my son this morning before it gets too hot. Fails: Allergies are currently kicking my butt!

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: Passed the glucose screening! Yay! Also, my monthly follow up with the specialists went well, and the lung mass isn’t causing any issues for baby

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now? Gosh, idk. Maybe go somewhere fun for brunch, maybe a movie by myself, sit and watch some TV? Nothing too exciting probably haha

@aecm Do they both have to be head down for vaginal delivery? It seems like they would be running out of space... I know my one little dude feels like he’s all over the place.

Nails and fails from this week: fail: as everyone knows I have not kept food down in 6 days now so my productivity is minimal. Nail: still chaperoned a field trip, volunteered at field day, took dd to ot, took ds to soccer, took dd to gymnastics, took dd to dress rehearsal, made it through dds recital and probably a few other things.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: I am super annoyed that my OB office seems to be blowing me off. I really like my OB but I am wondering at what point we are going to be concerned about dehydration and lack of nutrition.

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now? I dont even know. With how I am feeling, rest. If I felt good I would get a massage, float around a pool somewhere and indluge in all kinds of delicious food.

@aecm DD used to love Lil Kickers! The couple who owns the franchise here is phenomenal. I want to sign DS up for it but poor easy going second child just gets YMCA soccer. We also are a family who likes to be busy, even in the summer my kids have scheduled activities. Sorry to hear about the less than stellar results, I also failed the 1 hour and found out I was anemic.

@Allycat11 I can’t remember where, but it seems like I read something during first tri about not worrying about gaining weight, excessive nausea, etc, but if it lasts past first tri it could point to issues. I can’t believe your doctor isn’t taking it more serious. I would be livid.

@thirdtimesacharm2019 - according to my OB, she’s willing to let me try for a VBAC is baby A is head down. If baby B is breech / transverse / whatever after A is delivered, she’ll attempt an internal version to flip him. If that’s successful, great, he gets VBACed too. If not...it depends who else is around. If there’s an “old guy” OB who is used to delivering breech babies from when they used to do it all the time back in the 70s, she’ll call him in to help deliver B breech...if not, then I’m stuck with a C-section to get B out.

Ideally they both just flip head down in advance. They were both head down at 24 weeks and then both flipped breech by 28 weeks. They still have a bit of room to move (they’re average to slightly below average in size) so my OB said she’s not worried until 34 weeks. But of course I’m already worried 😜

@Allycat11 - DD definitely seemed to enjoy herself today! I think she’s going to enjoy it even more in subsequent weeks, now she knows the routine. Also, I’m shocked how much you did this week while being sick. If I vomit even once, I promptly plop into bed and don’t move for a good 24hrs!

Nails and fails from this week:
Nail: Finally got DH to commit to the stroller/car seat I like (thanks to measuring 3 weeks ahead on Monday)! It was 20% off on Graco’s site! Woohoo!
Fail: The delivery date is next Tuesday when we will be out of town 🤦🏻‍♀️, so my dad is going to come by and put it in the garage.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary:
I am oh so large and physical challenges are becoming worse (ex. I’m tired just from getting dressed in the morning). Mental health is still a challenge, but I’m having more good days than bad and I really hope things stabilize after birth, although I am prepared to ask for help if needed.

I’m trying to get pumped for vacation despite the gloomy forecast.

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now?
I would like to say I would sleep, but I doubt I could get comfortable enough to snooze all day. I would probably end up binging on Netflix and eating snacks while drifting in and out of consciousness.

@aecm *lurking FTM also expecting twins, 32W tomorrow*
They were also both head down at 22W, then flipped to breech Twin A & transverse Twin B by 27W, then both breech by 30W 🤦🤦
My OB is also up for attempting a VB if Twin A turns back to head down...
I got some recommendations from a doula on ways to try and get them to turn, mostly the same info available on spinning babies, I plan to try in the coming weeks

I hope yours turn and you get the VBAC you'd love to!

@thirdtimesacharm2019 Shockingly, 2 (out of 7) doctors in the practice I go to fall into the “old dude” category. And one of my local friends had at least one in the practice she goes to b/c she managed to convince her OB to pull him in to deliver BOTH her twins breech (but she wasn’t a VBAC..and she’d already birthed 4 kids in the past...so way different than me). But still...apparently there are a few of them practicing still!

@nimo-ad Good luck getting yours to turn! I’m actually getting some kicks high up on my belly tonight so I think one of them, probably B, flipped again. I’m hoping that A follows suit soon (and stays put!!)

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: DH may need to have surgery. We are waiting for the urologist to call us back to see if there is a less invasive option. Ugh.

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now?

Clean the house and pull DD’s old newborn clothes out of storage. Also pack the hospital go bag.

@aecm I listened to a really interesting birth hour podcast about a mom who advocated HARD for herself to deliver her twins vaginally and baby A was breech. It was episode 369 if interested. Hers also wasn’t a vbac so I’m sure it’s different in your case. She talked a lot about this doctor, dr. Stuart fischbein and all his research on breech deliveries. In any case, hope those babies flip for you and @nimo-ad ASAP!

How far along are you? How big is baby? 30+1. TB says zucchini...last year my garden produced some zuchinni ranging from 4 inches to over 16 inches (it got lost under leaves) so who knows! I do have a growth scan this week though.

How old is/are you other kid(s)? 2.5 and 5 years.

Nails and fails from this week: Nails: got a few naps this weekend. Fails: probably have pneumonia.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: This is my last week in my temporary position at work and of course I'm working from home today sick as a dog. I have so much i need to do this week to wrap up my work and pack up my stuff, but alas, I'm sitting at home watching TV, playing on my personal laptop (aka posting on TB), and wiggling my work mouse every few minutes so it keeps looking like I am active. I'm a horrible person.

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now? Sleep! If I was feeling better, I would probably do some serious nesting. Our grout is nasty and I keep having little anxiety attacks about wanting to scrub it with a toothbrush...so if I was well and had a whole day alone, I'd probably do that and some napping.

Nails and fails from this week: Went camping over the weekend it was mostly a nail! It was hard to come home and not be outside today. But then my allergies kicked in and so not so hard now haha

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: my OB is on vacation for 2 weeks I thought she was only on vacation my duedate week and would be back when I was 40+3 but nope 41+3 and I don't want to go that long.. so I'm scheduled for 39wks exactly on 7/26... this makes me sad I am not readdyyy and now it feels so super close.

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now? Binge Handmaid's Tale.. I really want to open that thread but I'm too afraid of spoilers.

Nails: we got DD a little pool for the backyard and she loves it!
Fails: Dealing with all the food envy with having GD.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary:
Cold grilled chicken strips from the lunch meat section are nowhere near a good alternative to homemade lasagna. ILs came over and brought lasagna for everyone else and brought me a pack of cold grilled chicken strips. It just really rubbed me the wrong way. If I had known that was the grilled chicken she was talking about, I would've heated myself up some leftovers.

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now?
Do a little shopping, get a haircut, pedicure, just do nothing for a bit.

@aecm and @nimo-ad my twin A was head down for most of my third tri. My twin B was flipping literally up until delivery at 37+3. (she was breech until 36 weeks when she flipped head down, at 37 weeks she was breech again, and at 37+3 she was transverse with her back down). So there is still plenty of time for them to adjust positions. I really wanted a vaginal delivery and had a lot of discussions with my MFM. If baby A was head down and the larger baby he was game to do a version or deliver a breech baby B. If I was a second + time mom he was willing to give flipping either baby a go, but since I was a first time mom and baby B was my problem child and measuring almost a pound larger he was very concerned I would end up with a vaginal followed by a c-section. (Which was the one birth plan I absolutely did not want, and with baby B ending up transverse with her back down there would have been nothing to grab on to and what I would have ended up with). I have heard wonderful things about spinning babies if someone is still being a trouble maker in a few weeks. .

Nails and fails from this week: so apparently my boys behaved wonderfully for my mom while DH and I were away for a week, and then were clingy and uncoorperative as soon as we got home. Not sure if that's a nail or a fail.

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now? Binge Netflix or my podcasts. If my podcasts that would be accompanied with games on my tablet.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: I keep getting near fainting spells. My blood work came back as a little anemic so I'm hoping now that I'm taking iron they will stop.

GTKY: What would you do with a whole day to yourself right now? Assuming it's just a pure bonus day: Take myself out to breakfast, go sit by the pool/float for a bit, then get a prenatal massage and a pedicure followed by some ice cream.
