How are you feeling? Overall pretty good. I am so freaking exhausted though.
Rant/Rave/Questions: Anyone else have a larger age gap between kids? I definitley did not plan on it like this, I had hoped for 2-3yr but after IF and loss I'm looking at an almost 6 yr age gap. Part of me is still sad about it. But on the other hand it is nice DS is older and can help more.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? I am going to try to really savor and cherish this PG. I don't think I did last time, it was all so new and I had no idea how much I would struggle to get PG again. I dealt with IF and loss for over 3 years. I would love to say I plan to have a 3rd someday but this very well may be my last PG due to age and fertility issues. So if it is I am sure going to enjoy every minute of it. I also want to do maternity pics this time.
Rant/Rave/Questions: Anyone moving your child to a different bedroom? When do you plan to do it?
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? Be more relaxed. I tried so hard to eat right even during nausea. Now I'm just eating whatever crap sounds good at the time. I'm still going to watch my weight and try to exercise once I start feeling better, but for now I'm just trying to survive the next few weeks.
How are you feeling? Mostly anxious. I just want to know if this is going to happen for us or not. Not many symptoms, mostly not interested in food and tired.
Rant/Rave/Questions: Really hoping we can tell ds he’s going to be a brother. I think he will be so excited. 9 more days 😬.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? Really enjoy it. Like @hanshotfirst77, after struggling for so long I want to do all the things and celebrate this as it will most likely be my last.
How are you feeling? The exhaustion is really rough. My nausea seems to be on the downslope (this is on schedule from my last pregnancy, it comes and goes early for me) so I have good days and bad days. Mentally I'm okay. A little nervous still but cruising. I find the wait between the first scan and the 12 week appointment when you can hear the heartbeat the scariest part of pregnancy by far. Including crowning.
Rant/Rave/Questions: I'm having a lot of guilt for not doing more fun/productive things with S when I'm feeling bad, especially since the weather has been so nice! Some days I can barely drag myself to the backyard in leggings to get him some sun.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? Last pregnancy was highly planned and dearly wanted, but I found myself dealing with pretty bad depression for pretty much the whole thing. I can recognize it as such now that I have a therapist and psychiatrist in place, which I started about 4 months postpartum. Like others have said, with these supports in place, I really want to enjoy and embrace this pregnancy. A big part of this goal for me is going to be continuing running. Last time I quit purely out of anxiety. This time I am still going (of course very slowly but I'm going) at 9 weeks, which I'm proud of. It's a really big part of my life.
@marebear15 we will be. Probably? Still haven’t worked out the exact plan. But I think we are going to turn our guest room into DS’s big boy room and making that his present for his second birthday. So that would give him 4 months to settle in before baby comes.

How are you feeling? Crummy. And guilty for how that affects DS. We usually do a lot of stuff but right now I’m too tired and nauseated.
Rant/Rave/Questions: DS is hitting the age where he doesn’t really have enough words to voice his opinions. But man does he have opinions. Which usually results in him screaming at me hysterically for half the day when he doesn’t get his way. And I feel like he has used up any and all patience I once had. We are struggling.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? I want to try to appreciate it more. Last time I was so uncomfortable with how my body changed I didn’t take many bump pics or record what was happening. And now I wish I had
@hanshotfirst77 - I can't understand the full struggle of IF (I was just beginning to enter that world), but I understand the struggle of not getting pregnant when you wanted to. I'm definitely savoring this pregnancy more than my last one.
@kbrown2385 - How are you going to tell DS? I've been telling DD that there's a baby in Mommy's belly, but she just points to her belly and says baby.
@Xstatic3333 and @MrsJessS - I'm feeling that guilt too about not being able to do as much with DD as I used to. She started acting out a lot and throwing fits because I'm just not giving her the attention she needs. I just keep telling myself it's only a phase and I'll feel better in about 7 weeks.
@marebear15 were going to be moving house a few months after the new baby arrives so technically will be changing dd to a new room but also new bedroom furniture etc as we will need the nursery stuff for the new baby. I have no idea how we manage it right now though.

How are you feeling? Rough as! All the shitty pregnancy symptoms which are reassuring but also awful.
Rants/Raves/Questions : we go on holiday to italy in 10 days time & much as I cant wait, I also am dreading it cause im so sick.
Are you going to do anything differently this time round? Probably not, winging it mostly & taking each day as it comes. I had gd in my previous pregnancy so really need to eat healthy & be proactive but its hard when just about the only thing I can stomach is white bread, pasta & cheese.
How are you feeling? Okay. Tired and nothing sounds good to eat but I'm hanging in there.
Rant/Rave/Questions:
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? I plan on still spinning and running. I ended up really scaling back on my workouts when I was pregnant with my son out of fear but I dont feel as much anxiety this time. I also plan on doing more research on labor because my birth plan with my son was to get him out safely. I didn't teach myself what I could and could not do and what my options were and I think it hurt me (example- if I want to walk around I don't want to be hooked up to 50 different things) I had a pretty traumatizing labor and birth and to this day still feel very anxious about how everything transpired. I still feel like it's my fault that it went the way that it did.
@dumbledoredies I think a lot of people have some sort of guilt with regards to how their labour & birth have went if it was “perfect”. I had an extremely traumatic delivery with dd (36 hours of labour, failed forceps & emergency section is the short version) & how things went after her birth gave me all the guilt. But my birth plan was also just have a baby. My sister on the other hand, had a detailed birth plan which went completely out the window & she had all the guilt about that. all this is to say, its great that you can advocate for yourself this time but try to be easy on yourself, its no easy task whatever way it happens!
@leprechaunlady definitely! I don't even think I'll write up a "birth plan" this time but I want to be more educated. I want to know my options. I'd really like to avoid a crappy experience again but know that it's not really in my control.
How are you feeling? I'm so tired, grumpy, and nauseous. Also a little nervous about my first appointment today!
Rant/Rave/Questions: I'm really hoping that everything goes well today. I'm looking forward to telling the guys. (It's been hard keeping it from them!)
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? This is my last so I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible!
@leprechaunlady - I don't know which is worst. Feeling good, but worrying all the time, or having tons of symptoms and feeling crappy, but not worried.
@dumbledoredies - I thought I prepared myself for everything last time. I researched vaginal births, c-sections, prepared myself for each possibility. But I never thought I'd have a NICU baby. I never prepared for that possibility and it blindsided me. This time I'm going to mentally prepare myself for all possibilities, VBAC, schedule c-section, emergency c-section, and of course I've already done the NICU route.
@hanshotfirst77 I am going to try to be more present in this pregnancy as well. I know you have a large age gap, but how special to have another child so excited and aware of what's going on!
@marebear15 I am dreading moving my little cuddle monster to her own bedroom!
@Xstatic3333 meditation saved me throughout my last pregnancy. THe insight timer app is free and amazing!
@dumbledoredies I had a traumatic labor as well. I have no idea how I am going to approach things this time. I might have to schedule a c-section. DD got stuck in my pelvis for 10 hours and had to be vacuumed out. It was misery.
EDD/Weeks + Days: Between 7-8 weeks
Size of baby:
How old is your other kid(s)? 13 months
How are you feeling? Feeling great. I am tired but that's because of my newly walking toddler!
Rant/Rave/Questions: How do y'all manage the lack of sleep?? My daughter still wakes 2-3 times a night and we are dying over in my house. I also work full time. I don't know how I will manage once the real pregnancy exhaustion sets in. Also, be bedshare with our daughter and I cannot imagine moving her into her own room when she will only be 18 months!
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? I've declined all scans until the anatomy scan. I am doing the panorama so I don't see the need for any scans. I also switched to midwives instead of doctors. I am trying to be more zen this pregnancy.
How old is your other kid(s)? I have a son who is 4
How are you feeling? Tired, sore boobs, slightly nauseous
Rant/Rave/Questions: I thought I would be more chill with this second pregnancy, but I'm constantly worrying.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? Try really hard to watch my weight with this pregnancy and work out more. I'm going to attempt a natural birth again, but we will see.
@marebear15 I don’t know what we will do yet. He’s definitely at the age where he will understand so I want to make it fun. I thought about bringing him to the ultrasound with us but if it ends up not working out I don’t want him to have to deal with that.
@justsuzie I'm struggling with sleep as well. It takes me forever to fall asleep and then my son wakes up pretty early. I'm getting about 6 hours of sleep a night which I guess isnt horrible but when I was pregnant with my son I was sleeping 9-10 hours a night. Right now I'm just dragging through the days but boy would I love to sleep more!
How are you feeling? Tired. My breasts have been super sore lately. Having DS sit in my lap while reading him bedtime stories and singing him songs killed me when he leaned back on me. I'm also a bit anxious. *TW* others' losses mentioned
All of my siblings & their spouses who have been able to have kids, have all had miscarriages. All of their miscarriages happened when they were trying for their second child. So that's why I'm a bit uneasy.
Rant/Rave/Questions: It's finally starting to feel like summer where I am at. We're still getting way too much rain for our region. I'm a little worried as not all the snow has melted in the mountains. Last time we had such a wet winter & spring, we had such terrible wildfires due to the underbrush being so thick.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? I'm exercising a lot more (I was exercising a lot before I got pregnant). I want to be in better shape than I did going into it than I did last time (I'm really hoping for a VBAC). I am also trying to focus on eating more fruits and veggies.
EDD/Weeks + Days: Jan 13 / 8 weeks due date twins @dumbledoredies
Size of baby: Raspberry?
How old is your other kid(s)? Sons 9 & 6, nearly 4 yr old daughter
How are you feeling? Sick and tired. Hooray 🤣
Rant/Rave/Questions: Any other team green moms? We left it a surprise for the last two and it was so much fun.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? It’s going to be so different than my other ones. The last two I had toddlers running around and even though I’m still a SAHM my boys will be in school full time and my daughter goes 4 half days. Really looking forward to just staying active and not stressing about this little human.
How old is your other kid(s)? DD is 3 in a couple months
How are you feeling? Good nausea still going, get tired or over exerted easily
Rant/Rave/Questions: not really
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones?
This time I am going with midwives. I had a good experience with my OB last time but when it comes to it, whoever is on call will be there for the delivery so I wanted a more personal approach this time. I can also say this pregnancy I’m just more cautious, I’m nervous to pull out maternity jeans or even start rubbing oil/ cream on so I don’t jinx anything. Last pregnancy I was also so active and had been going to the gym 3 times a week + yoga now I do nothing. I will try to get back to prenatal yoga twice a week though.
@marebear15 we will also have to move DD to her own room. I think after the summer I will get it all ready and decorate it a bit for her and hope she will take to it.
@dumbledoredies not sure if you considered a Doula? I had one and I can say it helped along my labour and confidence greatly, they’re not for everyone but still an option
@crf4 we were team green last time and we’ll do it again this time. I’m honestly so indifferent to it, just that I get to take home a baby at the end of this ❤️ Also like the feeling of being surprised and a bit unprepared.
@hanshotfirst77 my DH and his brother are about 6/7 years apart. They are very very close and he always took care of him which helped out his mom haha. There’s that awkward time when they’re teens and probably won’t want anything to do with a younger sibling but that’s normal for everyone no matter the age gap!
c1kc1kpol1cn1k said: Also like the feeling of being surprised and a bit unprepared.
I am the complete opposite! I absolutely cannot cope with that! I hate surprises & need to be as prepared as I possibly can be in any situation. I found out as soon as I could with dd!
@leprechaunlady haha I love it ! For DDs name we waited till she was out and had a good look at her to decide, just a list of names for a boy or girl and the waiting game 😂
@crf4 team green here! We were team green the first time and although it got pretty tough towards the end because I was ready to know I think it's the most exciting way to find out! Hopefully I wont change my mind 😆. I had to really convince MH to be team green the first time and it's pretty funny because he was the first to say we would be team green this time 😆. He loved it!
@c1kc1kpol1cn1k I have considered a doula! I talked to MH about it about a year ago when we were talking about my labor. He was 100% on board. He isnt the most supportive husband in that he just doesnt know what to do to help. He needs to be told. And in the moment he was 100% there for me but he wasn't telling me what to try which is what I think I might need. I also have a lot of anxiety when put in new situations and since I've done this once before I feel like I have so much more confidence this time so who knows.
@spacemountaineer - Your family's history would make me nervous too. But just remember they are not you, and everyone journey is different. I'm hoping for a VBAC too!
@crf4@c1kc1kpol1cn1k - I could never be team green. I'm just so impatient to start planning. Plus I've only had a girl, so if I have a boy, I'd have to go by a new wardrobe and I want to redo the nursery.
EDD/Weeks + Days: 6 weeks 2 days I think?/ EDD January 25th
Size of baby: jellybean?
How old is your other kid(s)? She just turned 13 months and stepdaughter is 8
How are you feeling? Exhausted. Baby girl is still waking up about once a night, still nursing 2-3 times a day and she’s mobile lol. Some nausea here and there but not consistent yet. It’s hard since school is out already and we aren’t telling DSD until second trimester to explain why I’m not feeling great all the time.
Rant/Rave/Questions: This was not planned exactly but not a complete surprise as we all know how babies are made and I didn’t get back on birth control due to breastfeeding. Any other mamas still nursing while pregnant or have for past pregnancies? I’m hoping to wean her over the next 2 months or so.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? im going to try to be more organized and proactive, I didn’t have the nursery done last time until a month after she was born lol
@hanshotfirst77 the age gap between my stepdaughter and my little one is 7 years, they adore each other to distraction. My oldest loves showing off her baby sister and my youngest thinks the older one is the funniest person on earth. I just made sure she felt included in the pregnancy and let her help with the baby. It’ll be great, you’ll see! I’m more worried about 2 under 2 now lol
EDD/Weeks + Days: I think 9w today, Dr says EDD 1/8 but I'm pretty sure it's going to be later than that.
Size of baby: medium size green olive
How old is your other kid(s)? Just turned 3 on 5/22, she is going to be a great big sister.
How are you feeling? Overall pretty well. Some bouts of nausea, no real food aversions yet.
Rant/Rave/Questions: we're in Mexico right now celebrating our 5 year anniversary and the plan was to wait until we returned to start TTC...so considering this pregnancy was kind of an oopsie/sooner than planned I'm pretty nervous about being down here in 1st tri with the risk of Zika virus. My best friend found a mosquito repellent that is supposed to be safe for pregnancy and protects well, so 🤞🤞
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? Last pregnancy I was sooo excited when I found out and this one I haven't been very excited yet, because of the timing of it for us and the surprise. Apparently I don't handle babies as surprises well. I am hoping to get much more excited with this pregnancy, and I'm sure I will as I get further along and start feeling it move and all.
@justsuzie@trauen812@c1kc1kpol1cn1k thanks for the perspectives on the age gap. It makes me feel a little better to know they can still be close.
@crf4 I don’t think I could ever be team green. Found out with DS at the anatomy scan and will do the same with this baby. We just got a new house and I’m super excited to decorate the nursery and i really loved calling DS by his name when I was PG. but I totally understand why for a lot of people they love the surprise at birth.
We're moving DD into a new room and new bed. Timing it for her birthday. We've already started talking about her getting a new bed and asking her opinion on paint colors. She's excited about the new room.
@valerie4786 I'm in the same boat. I'm happy, but not necessarily as excited. Last time, we'd tried for over a year and ended up with 2 IUIs. It was very different getting pregnant as I was switching to a different birth control. Never expected it to be so easy.
I also have not figured out what to get MH for Fathers Day. I saw a commercial for it yesterday and was like shooooooot. He didnt get me anything for Mothers Day because I told him not too since I was spending a bunch of money on my garden and we went to a waterpark that weekend. I'm at a loss.
I was in Alaska during mother's day because my sister was due with her 2nd baby and I was going to be staying home with my nephew when they went to the hospital, so my husband didn't get me anything for mother's day except a facetime call with my child. So i really feel like I'm blowing it out of the water with a Daddy Shark shirt for him 😂 and we're planning to announce the pregnancy on Father's Day. 🤷♀️
@persnickety I'm sure the excitement will come in time for the both of us!
How are you feeling? Today, I've been feeling irritable at everyone.
Rant/Rave/Questions: Nothing, at the moment.

Size of baby: jellybean
How old is your other kid(s)? I have a son who is 4
How are you feeling? Tired, sore boobs, slightly nauseous
Rant/Rave/Questions: I thought I would be more chill with this second pregnancy, but I'm constantly worrying.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones? Try really hard to watch my weight with this pregnancy and work out more. I'm going to attempt a natural birth again, but we will see.
Size of baby:Black Peppercorn
How old is your other kid(s)? 3
How are you feeling? Tired. My breasts have been super sore lately. Having DS sit in my lap while reading him bedtime stories and singing him songs killed me when he leaned back on me. I'm also a bit anxious.
*TW* others' losses mentioned
Edit: fixed spoiler
Size of baby: petit four
@crf4 @c1kc1kpol1cn1k - I could never be team green. I'm just so impatient to start planning. Plus I've only had a girl, so if I have a boy, I'd have to go by a new wardrobe and I want to redo the nursery.
I am hoping to get much more excited with this pregnancy, and I'm sure I will as I get further along and start feeling it move and all.
thanks for the perspectives on the age gap.

@valerie4786 I'm in the same boat. I'm happy, but not necessarily as excited. Last time, we'd tried for over a year and ended up with 2 IUIs. It was very different getting pregnant as I was switching to a different birth control. Never expected it to be so easy.
@persnickety I'm sure the excitement will come in time for the both of us!

Nothing, at the moment.
Are you going to do anything different this pregnancy than your previous ones?
Start wearing maternity pants/shorts sooner! I'm all about comfort this time around.
