Infertility

Reintro **LC mentioned**

Good morning!

I'm ready to dip back into the struggle. I'm taking the last of my BC to actively prevent this month, going to make the call to all the doctors to arrange referrals and check up appts with the RE, the tentative plan is to try a FET in late August/September. For now I'll lurk and wish everyone the best of luck through this process. I used this board in 2016/2017 throughout our initial struggles and found it a wonderful resource and an incredible source of encouragement.

Our first FET (3/2017) of two untested embryos resulted in our 19 mo. boy/girl twins. As someone who has been through this process before and then was blessed (and coped) with twins. I just want to be open and pass forward the help that I received.

  • @cashewchicken @mbradfo2 I hope that whatever your family size wishes are met! If you have decided its time to try again, join us! Time makes my decision for me in a lot of ways, I turned forty this year. Eek, in my head I'm 26. The longer I wait the harder being pregnant and dealing with a newborn will be. Plus I don't want them too far apart in age, this way the twins will be out of diapers before we restart with a new baby hopefully.

  • @JWatt5 I go between excited/hopeful and nervous/scared. We got so blessed the first time, and knowing our embryos aren't tested is another risk.
  • Good luck to you! Are you planning to do another FET? I have 13 month old B/G twins from fresh IVF transfer and just got good news about our 1st FET we did last month. We transferred 2 again but will have to wait a couple weeks to find out if its 1 or 2 babies. Will be busy but we are so excited 😊
  • **TR, LC's**

@doubleblessings1124 Oh wow! you transferred two again, let me know what they see on the ultrasound. I've loved our twin experience but I'm not sure I'd want to repeat it already having two toddlers.
We put in those two embryos last time with hopes that one would take, I'd never been pregnant naturally at all and are unexplained with only one working tube pre-pregnancy. Ending up with the twins was an amazing surprise but now knowing that I can get pregnant and have a successful pregnancy we will probably only put in one embryo at a time.

@JWatt5 Well I made the phone calls to reup my referral with my RE. I think we are waiting for not this cycle but the next, if I'm on the same protocol as before I'll start with two weeks of BC, then start the estrogen pills and the US/bloodwork for the cycle tracking, I will admit to being less than excited about ten weeks of progesterone shots. I need to go in for blood work appt for them to look at my thyroid levels.

I think that's what freaks me out when even thinking about doing the process again -- other than the fact that we have no more embies so we'd have to start again and now I just turned 36 so they may want to test? I had just turned 34 when we did our cycle - we got so freakin' lucky with our first FET. Having to go through and get possible BFN or CP or m/c terrifies me. Anyway, I like a 3 year age gap between kiddos so I won't even let myself think about it until Anne is closer to 1.5 or 2. Even though we're set for now, things can always change but I'll let myself reassess things once she's a little older. Having one toddler now is CRAZEEEEEE. I just fell asleep on the couch (not on purpose) while she was playing in her play yard (thank heavens for babyproofing) and I woke up to her crying, grabbing my arm and having a very smelly diaper LOL.
