Re: PGAL 6/1
1. How many weeks are you? 15 but will be 16 on Monday.
2. Previous loss(es)? 14 week loss last December
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Honestly, I don't know how I feel. I have moments when I am thinking about everything and I get emotional. Other times I feel almost numb.
4. Any appointment updates? My next appointment is June 12th for my AS. I'm excited for it. I will be going in early because I'm moving to AK a few days after that. I will technically be 17 weeks but he has been measuring a week ahead so that will put him at 18 weeks.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? My rave is seeing my daughter dance today. I kinda went overboard with her makeup this morning. I put eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lip gloss on her. She was beautiful and it was fun seeing her all excited to get all dolled up. DH wasn't too happy about it though. 😂 oh well! My rant is that I feel exhausted tonight. I plan to get the kids to bed early and then take a long hot bath with Epsom salt and maybe do a deep conditioning hair mask while I soak.
6. Any milestones coming up? Monday is my due date for my loss. I plan to burn a candle and sit out her urn and just look at that and her memory book that I made. I also plan to just cry as much as I need to. I will likely let the kids watch a few movies and just cuddle on the couch with all of them.
GTKY: what are some things you do to pamper yourself? I love massages. I actually plan to schedule one this week sometime. I also enjoy pedicures and manicures. When I go I like to get the hot wax and hot stone massages. At home, I soak in the tub and deep condition my hair. I have been doing the CGM for about 4 months now and it has really helped me get my waves under control and doing deep conditioning hair masks makes my hair happy. My hair used to be stick straight before my second pregnancy and then it just got curlier and curlier with each pregnancy after that.
2. Previous loss(es)? 4
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I’ve been pretty emotional the past few days and can’t quite put my finger on why. I can’t even describe it it’s happy or sad tears I’ve been crying. We found out the gender this week and told my son, so I think that is certainly playing into it as we never made it to that point with my losses, it’s so incredibly bittersweet. Physically I can’t complain, I’m feeling (and starting to look) pregnant!
4. Any appointment updates? I had my first ob appt this week, and my AS is July 1st so I’ll be counting down the days.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? My son had been talking about baby sister and my heart is so happy he gets it. He kisses her goodnight and keeps asking if he can hold her yet.
6. Any milestones coming up? I had two of my losses last summer so I’m trying to Ben positive the next few months. Honestly I try to ignore the dates sometimes, but it’s always in the back of my head. We’ve talked about planting a tree or something in our yard, so I think it’s be the perfect time to actually do it.
GTKY: what are some things you do to pamper yourself? I’m all for facials and massages. I got them routinely with my son, but life was less busy then, so I haven’t made it to the spa yet. A new place that specializes in prenatal and post natal massage opened near me and I’d love to try one. They even have special tables with holes in them for your belly! Other than that, I take baths a lot.
We lucked out with a spa in our gym so I can take the kids and leave them in the daycare while I go to the spa. It's amazing. I think the gym we plan to join in Alaska has a spa too. I will definitely be taking advantage of that.
I was at my IVF clinic about to start another cycle when I got pregnant, so they did see me for betas and two ultrasounds, and then I had an ultrasound at my ob at 8w4d because I didn’t feel right, and then the NT scan at MFM two weeks ago, so I have been in, just not to my regular ob. Otherwise I for sure would have gone crazy!! My clinic does an “intake” appt with a nurse at 9 weeks where they just go over history, then schedules the NT scan and your first exam with doctor or midwife for 12/13 weeks. I hate how they do it, but at least I had the earlier scans to hold me over this time!
I had a lot of dreams last night about the genetic screening we did. Trying not to angst about it but also dont know how long it will take to get results and so nervous about that call. :-(
2. Previous loss(es)? 25 weeks and 7 weeks
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically?
Physically fine. Emotionally just done and it’s not even the halfway mark 🤦♀️
4. Any appointment updates?
I had a sucky appointment last week. Dr couldn’t find the HB with the Doppler so I got an ultrasound and everything was fine, but just those 5 minutes waiting to know, I can’t stop playing it over and over again. I haven’t bought anything for this baby yet and moments like that are why. I have no confidence in this pregnancy and either worry or avoid thinking about it entirely. Anatomy scan is June 27th.
GTKY: what are some things you do to pamper yourself?
I don’t very often but I love getting a facial. It’s more relaxing to me than a body massage.
2. Previous loss(es)?
1 miscarriage
2 chemical pregnancies
Secondary infertility
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically?
My 17 week appointment really helped, I feel more calm and more excited to tell people. I realized I haven't been letting it be real, ihave been treating it as a "maybe"- I guess with how long we were trying it just was hard to trust it.
4. Any appointment updates?
17 week went great.
Anatomy scan coming up.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Starting to get movement and I 'popped' this week. I look pregnant to me. To everyone else I am sure I just look differently chubby, but that is fine.
6. Any milestones coming up?
20 weeks always feels big to me.
GTKY: what are some things you do to pamper yourself?
Pee without an audience? LOL
I don't get a lot of chances for pampering these days. I guess my idea of pampering is hot chocolate and a day curled up in bed to read for fun. Or brunch with some friends.
A few weeks ago when I was overwhelmed I went out in the evening for a drink alone while my husband put the toddler to bed. Non-alcoholic of course, but it had an umbrella and I sat out by the fire-pit at our local pub and just zoned out it was divine!
Every appointment I hold my breath until she says "what a good baby!"
Not so great news: i still have an SCH and it is right under the corner of my placenta. They said it is smaller than it was at 6 weeks but we will watch it.
I have an anterior placenta. That made me sad. I was really hoping to not have one this time because it can be hard to feel kicks and movement even towards the end and takes forever for my husband to feel.
I also had a bulge behind my placenta. The sonographer who used to work for MFM said she would commonly see them when a contraction was moving through and if we scanned again it might be gone. It could also possibly be a fibroid. No one was concerned yet. But still worrisome.
Also, they tested me for possible UTI or bacterial vaginosis. Which i had both multiple times in my last pregnancy and they usually included symptoms of this intense pressure. So hopefully thats what this is and they can treat with antibiotics. Ill know in a few days.
The SCH they said isnt big at all. It is right under the corner of my placenta. They did say it has shrunk a little since they saw it at 6 weeks. Hoping that when I go for anatomy scan it will be even smaller!
