@kiddiesandkitties I have a friend like that. Her midwife told her that for the 4th baby she was going to give lessons to her husband just in case. I don't think she was joking.
Hi ladies! Popping in randomly again. I keep trying to get in here but absolutely swamped with work. I do try to at least keep up with some of the main threads! Okay here we go:
@lillywonderland how fun with the balance bike! Sounds like such a more relaxing way to teach a kid to ride
@nomangos23 I feel you on the fears. I've just had a lot of friends who hit the unlucky lotteries which just makes the question the "likely wont happen" too
@RedBreast35 It's been in the upper 80s/90s down here in New Orleans for a month or so, just take your time and take it easy. I have to keep reminding people to walk slower, or that I might need to take a break while doing things. Advocate for yourself, you've got this!! Also chug that water - I notice my ankles start swelling if I don't drink enough
@calliah I feel you on the out of breath! I want to keep up on trying to take daily walks but damn I feel like I'm trying to talk through a marathon sometimes
@duewithpu2 so sorry to hear about your kitty! I applaud you taking the tougher road and explaining what actually happened
@cammie0526 I joined a few mom facebook groups in my neighborhood, a few people have posted about start walking groups to deal with the same problem. Also one of the hospitals nearby do a "Snuggles and Struggles" hour where you can interact with other moms, but also spend time with your LO. Maybe worth seeing if any programs like that exist near you?
@kaceyallan fingers crossed for you LO to show up in the window!!
@kiddiesandkitties If you dont mind me asking - why do you want to decline the GD testing?
@monkeysmom80 feel ya on the listening to your body!
@janat1717 that's exciting news for all of us anterior ladies!
@mamabear2204 I'm not sure I've ever read The Giving Tree, but from what I keep hearing about it, it makes everyone cry! I'm terrified of this book!
@ternsetc Interesting to hear that the second has been physically tougher - it's crazy enough that woman to woman the symptoms are different, much less same woman different pregnancies! Hope the sciatica eases up!
@zuuls_mom Awesome to hear about the toddler bed! I hope we still are in contact when the time comes for us FTMs to tackle things like that, we're going to need your expertise!!
FTM: What are you most scared about? Similar to @nomangos23 - a fear of stillbirth and SIDS.
Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? Team green. I think I'd love if he/she played soccer. Both DH and I played growing up. I wouldn't mind tennis too, I got into tennis late in high school and wish I had discovered it sooner. I think similarly as everyone else - I fear football, we just moved to the south and football is a way of life down here.
Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Cauliflower (or large cucumber...which seem really at odds with eachother!)
Upcoming Appointments: Follow up to the AS on 6/5. I went to my last regular doc visit and she asked why I hadn't scheduled my follow up US since they needed some clarification on some things (!!). Uhh because no one called me to tell me that was needed! Doc says it's pretty normal and not to be anxious but it's hard not to be.
How are you feeling?: Little nervous about above, but overall okay. I thought I was doing alright with the weight gain, doc hasn't said anything but the thread about weight gained gave me pause about how much I've gained thus far!
Rants/Raves: Nothing really beyond the confusion around finding out a month late that I needed a follow up AS
Questions: None!
GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? The Rolling Stones - my parents took me when I was like 10 or 11!!
Third kid: Due 11/6 Second kid: Dec 2021 First kid: Sept 2019
@bluepeach565 try not to stress too much about the follow up AS! It’s more for pics they missed due to baby not cooperating rather than pics because something might be wrong. I had it done with both my pregnancies! If something looked questionable they’d most likely tell you!
FTM: What are you most scared about? Being my mother ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? I grew up playing softball so I am hoping she's as into it as I was growing up. I also wouldn't mind if she got into swim team, I loved swimming but we didn't have a pool at my school.
Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: A chinchilla.
Upcoming Appointments: So, I had an emergency appointment with my midwife yesterday. See below.
How are you feeling?: Sore. Check spoiler, bit of a TW here about a minor accident.
I slipped and fell down the stairs yesterday. It scared the ever-loving crap out of me. We have a half staircase in our living room, I was coming down from the upper level and I just lost my footing and went down on my ass all the way to the bottom. Not only did it hurt but I was so terrified I had hurt her. I must have startled her, because she starting hiccuping within a minute or two and then kicked a lot after that. My midwife had me come in for a check. Everything seems okay but it definitely freaked me out. I've been kind of mentally reeling from that.
Rants/Raves: Rave! We put the new flooring in the nursery and it looks so good. The crib was ordered today and my MIL just needs to bring over our dresser and nightstand. Photo of flooring in a spoiler below. FYI that the rocker will be reupholstered soon.
Questions: Nah
GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Green Day and Blink-182. I was 13. It was amazing.
@RedBreast35 we had brutal heat last weekend I was stuck outside for a one year old's birthday party. I wanted to die. I honestly don't know how I will make it to September in that heat so I feel you.
@calliah I have literally been begging MH to put the A/C in upstairs for weeks. I live in upstate New York so he's like "no." Rude.
@duewithpu2 oh no! I am so sorry about your kitty.
@zuuls_mom omg, so happy for your boss. I watched my old boss go through 4 rounds and it was brutal for her (she didn't have a good outcome). Such great news for her!
@kgg2241I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable it sucks so much to be in pain like that.
@LJMoon6 I'm also having my shower in July. I want to enjoy it and August is always sooo miserable here.
@cmdesigner I'm so glad you and babe are okay. The floors are beautiful, it's going to look great when you get your furniture in there. What will the chair look like?
@nomangos23 I am just cleaning up the wood and changing the fabric out to a neutral weave. Photo of the fabric in the spoiler. The rocker is an antique Stickley piece (circa 1910) from my grandfather's family estate. Both my cousins and I were both rocked in it as babies. I'm so happy my mom was able to bring it to me! We don't have many family heirlooms so this means a lot to me.
@lillywonderland soccer was pretty great for wearing him out with all the running!
@kiddiesandkitties yes, they gave me the drink to take home for my next appointment. They have you drink it 30 min before your 28 week appointment but I’m going to do it at the hospital I work at, hopefully. I think that should be easier
@themadcamel, @zuuls_mom, everyone else, I told him we needed to put the window units in. He was going to and then it dropped back down to the freaking 50s so we didn’t end up needing them. I think they need to go in this weekend since I can’t do it on my own. Making it happen!
@RedBreast35 wrestling has always just seemed kind of... gross? To me. Ring worm and other parasites were always rampant on my HS wrestling team. Eww.
@cmdesigner Hello old friend! 😊 I’m glad you and baby girl are okay!! The flooring looks fantastic in her room! What are you other design pieces for her room? I bet you’re going to make the most amazing nursery...you know...because it’s like your job. 😉
@cmdesigner so sorry about your fall! Glad you and baby girl are ok! And I agree with others with regards to the AC- you and baby outweigh your DH The window AC sucks though, it’s hard to force him to put the stupid thing in. I so wish we had central. Stupid old house.
@lillywonderland ugh i am so excited to decorate this nursery. I was born to do it. My big pieces, other than the rocker, are in white with walnut wood accents. My accents are moon + star. My friend is making this gorgeous quilt. Vision board in the spoiler but tbh I bought most of this so it's the reality at this point.
@monkeysmom80 I haven't gotten that 2nd tri energy either. Like so much about pregnancy, I feel lied to.
@cammie0526 I'm right there with you. We are super rural and I really don't fit it already, so finding any "mommy" groups is not really gonna be something I do. I'm mostly hopeful that I can keep up with this crew online and limit my physical social interactions (cause I know it will only be about babies).
Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/23, 23+5
FTM: What are you most scared about? They are going to hand me 2 tiny humans and I'm suddenly responsible for making them grow into decent adults
Team pink/blue/green: What sport / activity would you love / loathe your LO to play? I'm hoping for gymnastics (like DH) or dance! No contact sports, pleas .
Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: This one needs an image
Upcoming Appointments: Just had one on Wednesday, next is end of June. So. Many. Scans.
How are you feeling?: Exhausted, and I think I'm getting a cold.
Rants/Raves: Rave - yay, new house with no stairs! Rant - boo, myst unpack all the boxes. I'm seriously going to get rid of so much crap, I can't stand it any more.
Questions: I'm sure I'll think of something, but preggo brain is eating me har .
GTKY: What is the first concert you ever attended? Ultimate Oldies, got to see Chuck Berry! As a grownup, all on my own, Dixie Chicks.
@kiddiesandkitties thanks for sharing about your deliveries. My first labor and delivery was quick. Hoping this one is too! 🤞🏼 Anyone else have a faster second labor?
And i also just realized they I’m totally a week off on how far along I am. I was 24 weeks when I made my post not 23. 🤦🏻♀️ Can’t keep up clearly haha STM problems...

@cateyes543 thats so fun to hear about how much more you can feel this time around!
@kgg2241 hope you feel better soon!! That sucks
@pj_soccer Florida sounds awesome!
@LJMoon6 Good point on hockey, crossing that off my mental list!
@sparkles5275 oh no heat! where are you located??
@septoctkids I love that we have a representation of all the pop of the time - NSYNC/backstreet/britney/spice girls/hanson haha
