I am happy to take something, but I will wait until the list is updated to see what is left. I could do the appointments thread or the weekly randoms if those are still free.
I am happy to do it weekly, but the monthly randoms thread seemed really successful since it was all in one place. Should we switch it to monthly and if there is a break in posting I can post another one or should we switch back to every monday posting it?
I know it's early to be talking about a fb group... but I got rid of fb about 2 years ago (best move ever) and will never be going back so it'll make me sad to lose everyone to a fb group FWIW, I vote for a PG down the road
@drama_llama It's like you can read my mind..... I'm also AMA, GD dieter, Plus Size, like spontaneity with threads, and find the bump clunky! Can't wait until we move to Facebook eventually....
I wasn't advocating for moving to FB yet, just sharing my frustration with the way the Bump is set up. I enjoy the community but find it hard to follow the conversation at times. Especially if a thread has moved on a little to a new topic, it feels rude to go back to a previous conversation. With subthreads you can have more conversations at once without confusion.
Perhaps I am just old and being a "get off my lawn" type about the bump. Who knows!
@emeraldcity1214 nice to hear we are on the same page about GTKY threads. Each BMB has their own ideas and you never know how prickly a group is until you dive in. My July BMB had a totally different attitude than the June BMB I lurked in (due date on the cusp), so it helps to know we are on the same page.
@drama_llama agreed about subthreads. I like the idea of having one "symptom" or "questions" thread, but it would be awesome if comments could have their own replies directly to them, rather than to the thread in general.
Or maybe it's just the app that shows up that way? I haven't used the bump on a computer yet.
@emeraldcity1214 I dont think I'm using the correct terminology. I'm thinking more like if I reply to your specific comment, it would show up under your comment rather than at the end of the whole thread. Not starting a new thread.
Comment replies. I think that's what I'm after. Keeps everything in the same thread but maybe makes it a little easier, especially in threads like the great question thread- it's still all together, but if theres one particular question that's relevant to you you're not stuck going through 12 pages of stuff to find it again.
When i think of subthreads I think of threads like on reddit. Easier to follow comments to things. The format on TB doesnt allow for that, unless we all wanted to start taking up tons of space with quotes. Some times I will read someones reply to something and have to scroll around to find the original comment. Thats where a subthread or response thread would make things easier.
Yup, it's a fault of TB formatting, nothing we can do about it.
I think this is an enjoyable area. I will admit I did roll my eyes at the "no one off threads" in the beginning, but seeing as how those rarely take off or are already being discussed elsewhere, I totally get and appreciate the reasoning for it now.
Yes! I just wish TB would update their formatting. You know, to make my life easier LOL. It just seems like they stuck with message board formatting 1.0 and never upgraded when the rest of the net went to a nested responses format.
There are a couple groups on Facebook that forbid the response subthreads and I just refuse to be in those groups. Just, why?
BTW, I know you are just trying to keep it all tidy. You do a lot and you're doing great. My beef is with the bump, not you. Sorry if it came across otherwise.
@drama_llama they could be on any given day. 😂 I have already been banned twice for stupid stuff. I already have a new "friend" waiting to take my place in case I start getting warnings again.
@emeraldcity1214 that was kinda what I worried about when I joined... I tend to be pretty blunt and forget to watch what I'm saying/writing. I've been on my best behavior so as to not offend anyone or get myself in trouble lol
I got sat in TB time out a few times on my N15 BMB for being too snarky. That was a brutal board (in many ways!), but it was fun at least! I've toned down quite a bit since then, but our current board seems so tame compared to my last one.
@purplefan1 I try to keep it tame for the most part because I'm not on here to just be mean to people but I side eye a lot of stuff.
I mean, I got banned for calling myself the meanest of the mean girls on the June BMB because some of the lurkers said the regs were mean girls. 🙄 None of us were mean they just had no respect for how we ran our board. That group was awesome though.
@gumby22c I didn't know you cheated on our BMB with TB BMB. I came into our N15 bmb ready to "fist fight" after the way my M14 bump BMB. Those ladies were crazy. It was like the wild West. Then our group was so tame. It was nice to have a chill group.
@emeraldcity1214 😂 I started out on TB one and after a couple months moved to the other one exclusively. The BMB we shared was much more my preferred mix of people. TB one was like trying to mix oil and water with the type of women on there. It was fun at first, but after awhile the drama was too much. I agree our N15 board was pretty chill and I liked that.
I fully admit I usually join a couple BMBs on different platforms in the beginning of my pregnancies because they all have such different vibes. I like to see which one fits what I'd like to be around for the duration of my pregnancy and beyond.
Hey, before I start a weekly GD check in, is everyone ok if I start a general glucose challenge thread? Figured newbies could ask questions about the process while other people could chim in with their knowledge. And we coule get a gauge on how many people are being diagnosed with GD to see if a weekly thread is needed or if a monthly GD will suffice.
@purplefan1 sounds good to me. I know how overwhelming it was when I was diagnosed with GD last time just trying to figure out what I could and couldnt eat. I started eating low carb prior to getting pregnant this time since I expect to have GD again. Its much easier this time around eating this way since I know how to do it properly now.
@gumby22c I agree completely. I know what I should be doing and I was doing well until the exhaustion from first tri hit and then I ate every carb to try to get through the day. But I know I feel better when I am counting and watching things and have tons of tips that might be helpful to someone new to the diagnosis.

If you have a topic that you feel will get lots of feedback, I think those could go in their own thread, for ex circumcision, BF, etc.
