Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12/5 11w4d
FTM/STM/TTM+: Mama to 8yo DS
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding Out 6/28!
Upcoming Appointments: 6/7
How are you feeling? (Cravings, Symptoms, Etc): I was hesitant to post this on the board but the figured I should in case it helps someone else, the full ordeal is on the first tri board *TW* early Sunday morning I woke up bleeding, it was a lot and was running down my leg. We rushed to the ER and thankfully baby looked great but we were sent home with no answers. Today I saw my ob, baby is still great but I have 2 very tiny spots of blood, an SCH. I was put on pelvic rest until my next appt *End TW*
Rants/Raves: Summertime means shorts and leg shaving. Normally not a big deal but omg my hair Ian growing so damn fast I have to shave every single day vs every other
Questions: Anyone who has had a SCH and been on pelvic rest - how much did you do and what did you avoid? I’m wanting these spots to leave asap!
GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to tv shows? Definitely Teen Mom 🙄 Dance Moms is a close second though.
Re: Group 1 Check In (DD 12/1-12/8) WO 5/20
Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12/4 11w5d
FTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: We found out last week that we are team Pink 💕 It’s fun to really think about names now that we know.
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday 5/23 will be my 12 week u/s. so excited to see her again and know all is well in there.
How are you feeling? (Cravings, Symptoms, Etc) I thought my nausea was going away last week but BOOM it came back hard this weekend. I am generally starting to feel a little better or maybe just adjusting to it. The fatigue is out of hand though. It’s like my body is forcing me to nap in the afternoon and I obviously can’t always do that! Still don’t feel enough energy to workout besides walking, and I am so hungry all the time, as well. Still can’t stand the idea of eating fish, which is making not eating sushi way easier than I thought. Cheese and nonfat greek yogurt and berries are my best friends.
Rants/Raves: We’ve been waiting so long to tell family and will finally be telling our parents this week after the 12 week u/s. I know I should just be excited for this (and I am!) but I am also quite nervous. I know it will change everything, including my relationships with my parents and my in laws, and I’m not sure how. I am also worried my in laws will be full if unsolicited advice and want to move to be near us! (they live in another city now) and i’m not sure i’d love that
My parents are already here and they are much better at giving us space.
Questions: How was your experience telling family, and the relationship afterward? Any advice?
GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to tv shows: The Bachelor/Bachelorette 🌹
@moonriver_and_me My nausea has been coming and going big time, too! Some days, I've felt great, other days, nothing sounds good AGAIN. Car sickness has been raging lately, too, even when I'm not in the car and just reading on my phone or computer (slightly even now).
Also, @moonriver_and_me *sorry, long-winded story*...
I wrote about this on another board last night about sharing the news with family- at this point, we've told most of our immediate family. After our miscarriage last September and some people's reaction to it (in our immediate family), my husband and I have chosen to keep our pregnancy more to our little group of three (me, DH and DD). I know, not everybody would experience the insensitivity that we did, and our situations are all very unique, but I would hesitate to let the family know absolutely everything. I've felt good this time setting out with that intention- basically talking when I want to, and not letting myself be judged or analyzed, and therefore stressed out, by my family. If you have a BFF relationship with family, by all means, go ahead and share every detail that you want to! If you're more like me and want to keep a little privacy, there's nothing wrong with that either. I don't believe it means that we don't love them, it's just keeping things comfortable for our little family while we go through this big experience together. Also, I'm 38 and my DH is 40- our families have stressed us out for a long time, and it's time to switch into "Caring for Ourselves" mode
This time around I told my MIL at 6 weeks and she acted very reserved. I'm still upset about how she acted, but I'm trying hard to not let it get the best of me. My husband has his own opinions on why he thinks shes acting that way and I somewhat agree. At this point she has yet to ask when the due date is.
Easier said than done, but try not to worry too much about how people will react as you can't control it. All you can do is set boundaries and hope for the best... and smile and nod at the unsolicited advice
Also @cpk3535 my arms are always itching! Weird!
Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12/1 12 weeks 1 day
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM 2.5 yo girl
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Team Pink!
Upcoming Appointments: FRIDAY!! 😎 Can’t wait to hear baby’s heartbeat!
How are you feeling? (Cravings, Symptoms, Etc): Overall pretty good
Rants/Raves? My sitter was closed today because she has stomach flu, so I’ve been home with my daughter today. We’ve had a ton of fun. I love these bonus days!
Questions:
GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to tv shows? Teen Mom 1&2 for sure. I’m totally following all of the Jenelle drama. I will also probably watch the new Hills too, even though it’s annoying Mischa Barton will be on it.
Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12/4 11 weeks 5 days
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM!
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out! We did the blood test but are doing a gender reveal on 6/23
Upcoming appointments: 6/12. I heard my baby’s heartbeat for the first time at our last appointment. My husband and I just smiled at each other. A moment I’ll never forget 💗
How are you feeling? (Cravings, Symptoms, Etc): I’m feeling nervous right now. I wasn’t going to get the testing done, but the NP told me the pros of it for being a FTM. Also, my husband had a sibling with Trisomy 18. His parents had a miscarriage at 5 months. Well, I just got a call from my doctor asking me a lot of questions about the Trisomy 18 and if my side also had any history. Then asked about my husbands family history again. At the end of the call she sounded hesitant and said it was for paperwork and that I’ll be contacted with my results soon. I’m just feeling so uneasy and down right now.
Rants/Raves? We did our “official” social media announcement yesterday! Everybody is super happy for us, and we feel all the love!
Questions:
GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to tv shows? I said this in another thread, and I don’t know why... I’ve been binge watching naked and afraid. I also love the bachelor/bachelorette!
@sunshineandlemons Omg how about them FINALLY taking those kids from her?! The Ashley’s Reality Round Up has been keeping tabs on the whole situation. What a train wreck.
@k_mama91 I'm sorry you had to go through such a scare. Hope the SCH will resolve soon.
Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12/5; 11w4d
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Just got my NIPT results today. It's a girl! 😍
Upcoming Appointments: 5/29 for NT ultrasound
How are you feeling? (Cravings, Symptoms, Etc): Still nauseated on and off. I threw up for the first time of my pregnancy yesterday. I'm a little more energetic the past week or two, and I'm trying to be a bit more active. I was so sluggish before.
Rants/Raves: I'm at the point where I want to share with more people, but still feel unsure about it. Maybe after the NT ultrasound. I told my bosses a few days ago, and was sort of disappointed in their response. My job is somewhat dangerous, and I wanted to talk about possible modifications/accommodations. They just said I need a doctor's note and didnt seem too interested in being helpful. Which annoyed me because they have all been pregnant and should understand.
Questions: When will you look in to child care options? I know it seems really early, but that's one of my main concerns (cost, quality, etc.) Not sure at what point that's typically begun.
GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to tv shows? Bachelor/Bachelorette. So mindless!
@blueskychicago12 congrats on a little girl!! 🎀
Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12/4 11w5d
FTM/STM/TTM+: this is my first!
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green:
I think we are keeping it a surprise!
Upcoming Appointments: 5/29
How are you feeling? (Cravings, Symptoms, Etc):
Soooo tired. Occasionally sore boobs, some nausea, and so much acne (ugh!)
Rants/Raves: pregnancy glow is NOT real. I have the worst acne 🙄
GTKY: I loooove friends. I could watch it over and over and over
I took it really really easy. It did resolve for me by 20 weeks. I am really sorry you are going through this. I hope you it resolves soon for you.
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM 16 mo boy
Team finding out/blue/pink/green: Still unsure if we will find out. I’m team green though-happy either way!
Upcoming Appointments: Ultrasound tomorrow!! It’s our first ultrasound and I am so excited to see our little nugget!
How are you feeling? (Cravings, symptoms, etc.):
Im feeling okay. I’ve been getting a lot of migraines, this has been really difficult. In my first pregnancy my migraines stopped completely and with this one I feel like I have one constantly. Otherwise, exhaustion and sore boobs.
Rants/raves: The weather has been gorgeous this week!!
GTKY: Right now I am loving The Americans on Prime!
But basically the same, told to take it easy, no sex, nothing strenuous. Although I haven't really been resting as much as I should. I haven't been bleeding. But at my appt yesterday, it got a bit bigger from 3 weeks ago.
Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12/3 - 12 weeks
FTM/STM/TTM+: ttm.
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding Out. Having a little gender reveal on the 1st!
Upcoming Appointments: had one yesterday 5/20. Next 6/10
How are you feeling? (Cravings, Symptoms, Etc): still pretty sick. Headaches. Was told at my appt yesterday, my sch from previously getting smaller, has gone back to original size (bigger) still have to take it easy.
Rants/Raves: Its really hard to get help with my kids by my mom. She will literally ignore me on days she's supposed to watch my boys so I can go to work/ or doctor appts. I don't have a babysitter and other family helps as much as they can, but it's really frustrating when it's my own mother that will not help me what so ever. And she'll then bitch and moan that we don't help her. When I literally handle everything for her.
Questions: none.
GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to tv shows? Maury lol. I was obsessed with Riverdale, but it has sadly ended it's season.
@lamarshall I look like a 13 year old boy. My skin isn’t disgusting!
Yeah I would love to be able to have as much bed rest. But with my two little monsters, the dog and the never ending mess, I'm so stressed. But yesterday really kicked me back into reality to take it slow since it grew back in size. Upsetting.
Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12-4 /12w
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM: DS 17 months
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out
Upcoming Appointments: 6/12
How are you feeling? (Cravings, Symptoms, Etc): Here and there I've had a few days where I feel legitimately normal and it's been amazing. The rest of the time I still feel crappy and sick and exhausted - even left work early yesterday after feeling especially bad. I've noticed vegetables and fruits especially sounding good. Last week I ate an entire watermelon basically by myself over about 4 days.
Rants/Raves: DH is being the tech director in a local community theater production and they're having auditions this week so he's been gone in the evenings a lot - right when I'm feeling crappiest - and I've had to struggle through putting DS to bed myself. I'm about over it.
Questions: nothing really
GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to tv shows? Probably Say Yes to the Dress or Property Brothers because I like judging people's choices.
Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12/8 11 weeks, 2 days
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM - 6 year old and 2.5 year old boys
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: I think we'll find out at our 20 week appointment which would be week of July 22nd
Upcoming Appointments: 6/11 - 14 week appointment
How are you feeling? (Cravings, Symptoms, Etc): I'm still exhausted and nauseous, only a couple more weeks of 1st trimester. I started taking B6 three times a day which has helped with the nausea at the direction ob my OB. Lately, I have been getting pretty strong headaches that Tylenol provides next to no relief.
Rants/Raves: My thyroid levels were weird again (I've been taking meds for hypothyroidism for around 10 years now) so I'll get extra blood work done at each OB appointment again. Hoping this medication dosage will bring me back to the normal range.
Questions: not at this time.
GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to tv shows? Currently old seasons of Keeping up with the Kardashians.
My husband said we could name him John Paul Jones... I’m impressed he paid attention to the bachelorette 😂
Another update: genetic testing came back. Tested negative! I can breathe now.
We shared more officially with my in-laws today at 12W3D- it was BIL’s birthday 🎂 Next week, we’re heading off to stage some pictures with DD to announce a little more publicly (maybe Instagram) that we’re pregnant. I almost feel we’re announcing more for her to have fun with being a sis, which is really the best reward for us. She’s having a great time getting ready for her sister role, and we ❤️ to see that. Any other fun suggestions for older siblings to be to further enjoy the pregnancy?
@k_mama91 I hope the rest is helping.
@cpk3535 aw so sweet about DD 💕
@baby_love7 congrats!
@cpk3535 so far ds loves reading about how big baby is everyday and how much things change week to week. Well do a gender reveal for him and plan on letting him help get the nursery ready.
Also, we got out a bunch of old baby supplies and we’re starting the process of picking and pulling things. Some stuff looks great, just needs a good cleaning, and other stuff I’m remembering how useless it was the first time. Probably a good amount still getting dumped or donated 👍
@cpk3535 we have a crib, pack n play, and high chair. I have a ton of shopping to do!
Also having too many clothes, we had so much that even with two boys we had stuff that was never worn by either kid. A lot was just due to how the pieces of clothing were cut (clothing would be sized 6-9 month but fit our kids like 0-3 month clothing), I started to figure out what brands would and would not fit my kids.
Oh, and baby shoes in sizes before they can walk. We have so many that were little itty bitty sizes, they don't fit right and basically only for looks. My kids would barely keep on socks, so the joke was on me for thinking they'd keep shoes on.
Pack-n-play was probably the most important thing- I used it as a crib at work and sometimes at home, and they work as changing stations. Plus they fold up when you don’t need it! Honestly, this time, we might just skip the crib all together and just use the pack-n-play. DD used to gnaw on her actual crib during teething (which was a nice crib we purchased at Costco) and she actually got some of the finish off in her mouth! Not good. Plus, I could count on one hand the number of times I was able to get her to take a good nap in that thing. Pack-n-play is a lot safer for that stuff- no splintering, no paint, easy to clean, movable, etc.
I would also say if you are pretty sure you’re going to be breastfeeding and be with baby pretty much constantly, don’t invest a ton in bottles and stuff prior to baby’s arrival. I breastfed and DD didn’t ever take to bottles or pacifiers. Unfortunately, I pre-loaded up on lots of items, including a fancy breast pump that I barely used. It's all kind of a shot in the dark- our new baby might be completely different- they kind of call the shots.
I have to grab a new stroller (we go jogger style with a newborn car seat adapter kit). Last time we had a BOB jogger that we used thoroughly. This time, we’re looking at one from Thule that’s a bit more compact (we work in sporting goods). I have to get a new baby wearing setup, too. I want something with good back support but soft for baby. We had a classic Baby Bjorn last time, but it was a bit scratchy and not very breathable for my taste.
Sorry, long winded! I might add some more stuff later as I go through my inventory 😛😊.
@blueskychicago12 We used most of the baby stuff with the exception of a baby mat. We mostly used a blanket. I’m not sure what we wouldn’t use. We could probably use much less because they only use it for a short period of time. Once my daughter had mastered crawling, there was no putting her in a jumper or bouncer and forget the swing!
