I have a UO- if you wear a thong to work, you should not wear skin tight jeans that make it so I can see every detail of your ass as you walk up the hill in front of me 🤢🤢

  • @Cass005 Yes! I’ve tried to block that one out of my memory!

I also felt similarly annoyed when it was done on American Horror Story in the asylum series.
  • @geminigirl16 I’m mostly with you, but the Buffy musical episode was fantastic.

I don't remember that, but honestly after the 2nd slayer arrived and the whole Spike loves buffy era, we stopped watching so...
  • @cmbt2 What a smart idea to have 2 vacuums. We have carpet up in the bedrooms and 2 floors down in the basement. The basement doesn’t get swept as often as it should bc it’s such a pain to carry it up and down! I’d consider getting a second one but we’re hoping to move in about a year so I’ll just have DH do it for me thru pregnancy haha

It was a fluke we ended up with two! We had a Dyson, then moved an apartment that needed dropped rollers. The dyson doesn’t do that, so I got a shark rotator. That thing is a beast. Fast forward 3+ years, we move and somehow still have two vacuums. I’m replacing my
dyson with another shark rotator 🤣

  • I adore the Buffy musical episode 😍 I actually have the soundtrack and still listen to it 🙈🤣

*whispers my uo* I actually loved the Grey's Anatomy one too because I'm an absolute sucker for musical episodes 😬

Your whispered UO made me laugh! I am
sure you aren’t alone or else they would not keep making the musical episodes. I don’t remember the Buffy one or maybe I never saw it, I’m going to have to hunt it down.

When I'm caught up with our posts and a little bored, I go onto some of the other BMB's looking for the drama and snarky threads. Anyone else, or is that just me?

Hahaha omg I have to start doing this
  • @geminigirl16 part of why I loved it was because shonda rhimes was so excited to do a musical episode! She said she would have done it season 1 if it made sense, but she knows they are hit and miss with audiences and didn't want to lose viewers lol
  • The DC shows flash and super girl did a mash up episode that was a musical and it was a fantastic episode 😂 I was in theater in high school, and always in the musicals so it doesn't bother me, but SO isn't as big a fan. He was in theater a little in high school cause his best friend drug him in 😂
@meagan-t did anything come up for me??? Cause I've googled my name a few times and recently, Credit Karma tried telking me I had an unclaimed $100 in Florida so I googled the address they gave me and sure enough there's another woman 20+years older than me with my name 😂 she's a homewrecker, there's a whole blog on it 😂 I had to read it cause I was curious as hell. (I promise I'm boring as hell, my town is about the size of a shopping mall surrounded by corn fields and cows😂)

  • Question for UO: Long question and rant, sorry in advance

For your kid's birthday parties, do you invite all of the kids from their class, just a few or none at all? Not sure how I feel about this and since DS is in an "early childhood education" program run through our city, we haven't quite come across too many instances yet.

There was one little girl who had a party the Saturday before Easter that invited all of the kids from the class (we didn't end up going because DS had a baseball game at the same time but also the little girl whose party is was is the niece of my sister's ex-fiance - small world  :# ).
The reason I ask is because my H just texted me that another girl from DS' class was talking about her birthday party that was this past weekend and it seems like she maybe only invited some of the kids from class... I don't know many other details but I do have mixed feelings about this...

If it was a party at a spot where you might have to pay by kid like a bouncy house place or Chuck E Cheese, I might feel more inclined to give the parents a pass (because that s*** gets expensive). But if it was a party at home, IMHO that maybe you should include all of the kids in the class... especially as they start to get older, it could lead to hurt feelings when those children who were invited are talking about the party the next school day. BUT I'M SO CONFLICTED. Makes me think of what I will do when it's DS' birthday this September and he will be in kindergarten but school will have just started.

@stephanie123456 on the occasions we’ve done parties, we’ve only invited kids they play with. I’m not inviting two classes of 16+ kids each to my house when my kid only plays 2-3 from each.

When we get invites from school, we ask DS1 if he plays with the kid. If he doesn’t, we decline

  • @stephanie123456 Niece was always "all or nothing" until her 10th. At that point, she has legit friends and bonds and I wanted her to invite those who were important to her. We also have bad timing as shes Nov 27 and generally NO ONE from school comes. It was heartbreaking seeing 15 invites go out and no one show up. This also makes me unable to pull the trigger on doing a party somewhere other then home dispite her desperate pleas.

I'm not really sure how we'll handle DS. He's Aug so easier for people to potentially be around and not burnt out on traveling for holidays. But he's super charismatic and I suspect will have lots of friends.
  • @stephanie123456 Parties in general aren’t a big thing for us. We invite his small group of friends that he’s grown up with. This year he hadn’t really formed and great friends in school by his birthday. He was only invited to one party all year as well. I think this coming year it will be much the same with maybe his closer friends from school. I have no interest in hosting a party for 20 kids, I like things small and intimate. Sure hurt feelings might happen but that’s life and I teach that from a young age. I was never in invited to parties growing up except within my tight group of friends and frankly that’s how I prefer it,

  • I think it depends on numbers honestly. For an entire kindergarten class... that's a TON of kids who you don't know at your house. For daycare, its not as many. I personally tend to stick with the kids I know DS1 is actually friends with. This year I didn't invite any school friends since we have so many neighborhood and family friends who DS1 actually knows and plays with. I may reach out to the four school friends/moms that I know and see if they want to meet at a park on some saturday morning to celebrate all the kids with a birthday in May. No gifts. Just a celebratory morning at the park.
  • We haven't hit that issue yet, but a friend of mine told me her son's school says you must invite the whole class or no one. Not sure how that is actually enforced, but it meant that she didn't invite any of his class friends because he only was close with one or two of them and they didn't want 30 kids her son didn't even really know coming over. It's a tricky spot, because you don't want hurt feelings, but also, why would you care if someone you don't hang out with has a party without you?

  • My school system I went through had the all or nothing rule. They enforced it by telling parents the teachers had to make the announcement and pass the invites out. A lot of the times, most kids didn't come anyway or if they weren't your friend really they wouldn't show. My mom did it up til my 9th birthday when my sister was born and we moved out of state. I remember one birthday I had almost 15 kids come. Also in our area it used to be common to drop the kids and come back for them. That year we had a water balloon fight in the yard then cake and ice cream. It wasn't a long party. When we moved I barely had friends at my new school so my mom did family only. After 8th grade I was able to just tell my actual friends.
With my sister my mom never invited school friends unless they were in her extra curricular activities. She invited her girl scouts and tball friends. Now it's her church friends.
For DS bday, we invite family friends and family. I'll see how this year of preschool goes and go from there. He's going to a much smaller school district than the one I grew up in so I think we'll be okay lol
We invited our music class friends to DDs bday and a couple of them came. At the time we only had a class of 6 kids so 3 of them came and it was nice!

Y’all are making me glad our schools give out a directory and tell us to mail the invites 😂 I will not be inviting 25-30 kids to my house in January. (We’re those people who always do home parties)

@galentine I’m actually flabbergasted that you didn’t get print outs! That’s all I’ve ever gotten
Same! She handed me the disk, and I kind of stood there a moment, like.... that's it?!
  • @galentine Well if they gave you a disc, I hope they got lots of pictures for you. With DS and with this LO too, all of the ultrasound pictures that they printed for us have been TERRIBLE!! I know they are not focused on getting the best pictures for keepsakes but at the end, they could try to get one good one!!

  • @galentine We only got a disc too and I am so annoyed! Especially because the pictures she chose to put on it are the worst ones! Right there with you on wanting that classic printout instead.
